J.U.S.T.I.C.E. -> How many people still play? (3/21/2013 4:27:44)

Exactly what the title is, 'How many people DO still play?'
Well, for starters let me ask the question; Have you moved
to another console or gaming device, maybe even a new website?
If so, why did you leave EpicDuel and potentially ArtixEntertainment
and why do you think the thing you play nowadays is more fun.

I myself have pretty much left the EpicDuel community because
I have to get back in with the UnitedKingdom leader-boards on
H4 (XBL). However, I do keep my cool and stay online - come
back for updates regularly when there is a new one. You never know,
I might even come back for this new egg thing!

Although this is all very intriguing, have any of you actually stopped
playing a lot? (interpreting on first question(s)).

I would like to know what your comment is and what you think. This
is not a flaming/ non-related topic it is simply just something for discussion
of why people do or don't leave the game. It could even have some potential to
increase the game-play and game-activity.

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: How many people still play? (3/21/2013 4:37:23)

I'm playing less then i did back in Delta, when the game was more fun for me (enchancements:P)

I still play alot compared to others but less then before, also because i got less spare time now due to work as a trainee for school.
But overall, i still like the game, not because of omega itself but because of the community and the new features like the Tournament couple of weeks ago.

However, the non var-credit gap sill bugs me a little, thats why i dont pvp alot anymore.
I see why they did it and understand it, but still i think i should get some kind of advantage.
Even tho the rest wont agree, i dont care.

Drianx -> RE: How many people still play? (3/21/2013 4:50:26)

I stopped playing because of balance, boredom, prices, and because casual players are penalized.
I moved on to a game which is one payment and endless fun.

Unknown Menace -> RE: How many people still play? (3/21/2013 7:37:16)

I stopped playing before omega, but i think the time it took for omega to arrive has also contributed to my absence. The fact that i realised that i didn't even counted the days to it's arrival said enough.

In the meantime you find other priorities that consume time (hobby's for instance). Meanwhile on the break i do play a game to get my mind of the intensity that these hobby's bring along and those games are ones where i have total control over how long i should play. 1 hour is 1 hour, unlike ED where for instance drop rate on yeti pelts is a pain and there is no telling how long it will take. The game i play receives the cash, the less i play a game the less likely it will get money from me. Same reason why i didn't get a single promo short before and during omega. I only show up at the releases and sometimes i don't even finish all missions on new releases. That's just how it goes for me, there hasn't been a single game that i really got attached to. Well except for one, but for my own good i threw it out of the window. I think it's a matter of time i will completely bite the bullet, just like i have done dozens of times with other games.

Wootz -> RE: How many people still play? (3/21/2013 21:07:21)

I doubt that anyone who has quit playing will go through the forums. xD

ProPerto -> RE: How many people still play? (3/21/2013 21:54:54)

^ me[:D] i stopped playing after the yeti torney and still haven't got online cuz ed kinda sucks for me but i still run into forums once in a while to check what's going on since i get more free time by not getting online on ed

i haven't move to another game or anything like that i just don't like ed at all and well now i can enjoy more my life!![:)]

reasons why i stopped playing: balance sucks and its worst than delta, ed its just not fun at all, lot of kids around (noobz) who think they are good when they can't even make their own build and if you beat them they start insulting, varium is pretty much useless some might say its a short cut and blah blah blah but this game was pay and get a little advantage since beta but they crossed the line too much making weapons with 25+ stats and 10 enhances while none varium only got like 24 with full enhances, its their fault and i hate the fact that we all have to pay the consequences cuz of their mistakes!! now they made new cores, YAY!! too bad the to get the good ones you have to pay 50 bucks to get and well they aren't worth it to me. Since all weapons have the same stats and all that they should have atleast left some items varium only so we still look cooler than none varium but they didn't and its hard to tell these days who are the varium players and who are the f2p. i could write a book saying all the reasons why i quited ed for good but ehhh i think that was the best choice i made....thanks ed team for giving me 3 years of fun but you killed ed for me with this thing called OMEGA!!!

Exploding Penguin -> RE: How many people still play? (3/21/2013 22:06:52)

I don't play nearly as much as I did in delta. I actually started playing ED for the first time in delta, then left cause I was a noob and rage quit since I didn't understand the strategy and battle mechanics in the game. I later came back in gamma (sadly, I was too dumb to get the beta cheevo) and that was my high point in ED, because I was able to fight against credit players with some advantage, but not too vast of one to be extremely unfair, and I was also able to play without worrying about getting killed by some freakin 4% crit core.

Wootz -> RE: How many people still play? (3/21/2013 22:07:28)

First time I've saw you.
I can't say that I quited, but I really spend a really low ammount online. I just got mature to get past this gamer phase and have a normal life, a girlfriend (today we are in the 7th month of being together), a sport, school, going out and doing stuff that I cannot write here.

aurther13th -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 1:45:20)

yea i still play ed actually and depending on how the egg thing goes will decide if i stay or not. in the past i started on a game called perfect world and loved it, then played a different live game called crime craft and played that for about a year, would be playing it now but my computers graphic card is outdated and cant find a new one that i can afford so the game crashes. but in the past i have jumped from p.w. to CC an back, meet some people, played e.d. like it, just something different. starting to get past gaming with school and my new job plus sleep such. which is kinda bad bc i just spent 20 bucks on varium for yeti but then decided it was crap so didnt buy it. now just have extra varium. love the new job an for anyone in orlando, fl go to the grand prix track. awesome job but other then that im sure i will play e.d. from time to time. main thing i like about p.w. compared to E.d. and CC is that you have coins as your money, CC its just money an e.d. its credits. but you also have gold and silver, CC is gold bars and e.d. its varium. the only difference is in p.w. is that you can put your coins on a market to buy gold. so 1 million coins might get you 1 gold bar, depending on the market bc it changes. as our economy does. also its easier to get coins on there so dont worry lol. i think if we had a market where we could trade varium and credits within each other like stocks so to speak more credit users could get varium and more varium users could get more credits, without being to crazy of course. bc like p.w. you cant trade gold and silver, varium, but you can put it on the market and get coins, credits, and trade that. so you can also sell weapons and gear and such. but thats a different game an just an idea. any who thats my story and im sticking with it.

Crimson Eagle -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 3:19:53)

I quit just before Omega started, I became a moderator in a new MMO IOS/Android game and have loved the job ever since. I'm sad that I left EpicDuel, but once Omega started, the game had lost its 'special touch'.

The Incredible Hulk -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 3:28:30)

I hardly play that much.

Elkaus -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 8:10:05)

Never anymore. I came to the realization that ED bores me and is the biggest waste of time. I have basically 90% quit.

Scyze -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 8:52:10)

There's better things in life guys. Way better.

Don't waste your time playing if you get bored of the game. No one's forcing you to keep on playing. Also, if there's things like tournaments, don't bother if you know the game's not fun.
I will be leaving in July. Its all done. [;)]

I see streaks of wins but most times, I get a lot of losses. There's too much luck involved with these stupid Cores. Most Cores are ridiculous. Look at the 1v1 leaderboard, who's mostly on there? Low level people of course!
People like me and a lot of others stopped showing up since they likely not bothered. :D
I was expecting Omega to be the best, its actually the worst mostly because of the luck involved. Wasn't there a post telling us about Omega planned to be more "Stat based"?
My parents think I've gone weird since I don't hog the computer playing EpicDuel nearly the whole day. I (most like you) am bored of it.

I tend to just look at the forums to see how others are doing and I play like 10-15 mins a day. Usually it would be hours and over 200 wins in most cases. Nope, only 5 wins these days.
A good friend quits, another quits and so on...

I don't even see people like Deathnightmare (high win ratio) or E Z R A (fast like a ninja!) hogging the leaderboards.

And what stops players from getting there? Still an accomplishment because they worked for it. It doesn't say LBs are designed for top players, especially not Daily. All-Time yes because of their nature but Daily? Not really no.

RageSoul -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 9:46:25)

I rarely play this game now because the reason i was playing this game, which is to stimulate my mind for strategy , was gone . Currently playing a popular RTS game as of now and getting the hang of it and , in fact , i might wanna call it "home" .

As of now , i'm actually observing it but not playing it much . That's all and good day :)

InceptionAE -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 12:47:56)

I quit, Omega ruined it. Took away our enhancements, ruined the game with crappier and crappier balance adjustments, and no NPC. I moved to keep playing CrossFire or sometimes I play City XL Platinum. Hoping my city would be huge. :P Add me on steam: Deathblad

AQWorldsFarmer -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 14:19:05)

So the game is ruined becuase enhancements are gone?
Talk to the nonvars, they have a different opinion.

I don't like it becuase of all the luck-base cores. And luck in general.

Mother1 -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 14:36:52)

@aqw

Omega was made for the non variums more then varium players. Why because non variums got a massive buff, while varium players got nerfed for the sake of free to play. So of course non variums would be happy about this while varium players would be unhappy.

But speaking for myself I don't play as much as I used to anymore.

Oba -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 15:47:30)

I personally would have liked if enhancements were deleted a looong time ago. It was a very unnecessary "feature" from the very beginning, and it only made the gap bigger between non-vars and vars. Tho, I do NOT like that every item have the same amount of stat points and that all items are available for both credits and varium.

To answer the OP tho, imo, the game was just as broken before Omega and I played just as little before as I do now. I might just even play more now, since its new and fresh gameplay. Delta was just old stuff from the other phases, but at a worse level.

Midnightsoul -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 15:52:24)

How many ppl still play?
Well sir, you can check the player numbers on the servers and see for yourself. It's very small for a MMO.

Master Smasher -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 15:56:34)

I personally am getting bored, theres no real drive to kill anymore

King Helios -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 15:59:28)

^ Well, we are going for faction 2v2 daily today and tomorrow, so that should help. xD

Master Smasher -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 16:03:32)

^
lol true, only reasons why I still play

nico0las -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 16:19:32)

I've always been a big time Halo fan. I'm very good at it, almost excellent (my ego also knows no bounds, which is my biggest weakness), and have competed in minor LAN tournaments (all FFA).
I built an MLG team and *hopefully* will be getting somewhere. I attend university in Boston so I can get to Rhode Island easily if we were successful.
ED has always been somewhat secondary to me, I never really caught onto it, but I have played it a LOT over the past two years, so I'm quite attached to it.

AE has some very original and interesting ideas. They have reacted a solid company building browser based MMOs. However, this
type of game can only target a certain portion of a potential audience, and personally I have a lot of work, seeing as I want to be an engineer, so this game no longer attracts my interest or my time schedule
(ED consumes a LOT of time). Epicduel was for me the best AE game because it required far more brain activity to play. There was nothing alike, you need to adapt to your situation (Like Halo), and strategy went above randomly pressing buttons.
The other AE games are essentially a point n click adventure, going through major and minor story lines.

The reason I'm pretty much about to retire for good from ED is because, unlike Halo, there is no way to balance this game out. "Balance" is like perfection, it does not exist.
Balance would incline you even out everything, or otherwise make it perfect. This isn't actually possible, because there will always be an "OP" build that requires no skill to earn wins with. Halo, for example, has only one factor that creates a gap: Skill. The better
YOU as an individual are with movement and analog sticks as well as the meta-game, the better you will do in a game (excluding in high level competitive play, where you are only as strong as your weakest teammate). All the weapons have strengths and weaknesses, but they all have a purpose:
The BR, for example, is excellent close range because it's reticule is huge and the shots are easy to hit, but this means that the BR can't hit shots long range. The DMR, on the other hand, has a smaller and more accurate reticule, so close range is more difficult whilst long range is easy.

Hatsuka -> RE: How many people still play? (3/22/2013 20:27:55)

Wait, There's someone still play ED ? Wow, that guy must have "sanity" mind.
