raynieday, I've tried a lot of mage builds and they weren't as fun as caster, but lets stay on topic please, thx.

@STRUT MY MUTT hmmmm funny..... emp might be unblockable, but it requires energy. Assim requires no energy, yes it might reduce half of EMP's energy reducing BUT it damages your oponent AND regains the same energy

Sometimes. If you're not blocked, and regardless, mages don't typically do much damage with strikes anyway.

Remember it goes up with strength. 2v2: Mage w/6 Assim and Merc with max blood commander…oh snap, -25 energy.


Bt I agree, it doesn't take that much energy normally.

One difference is that assimilation gives casters rage while emp doesn't. That's why it's a bit superior than emp.

With what build? If it's a caster, then sure, my 5 focus tech abusive BH wipes em out. However, versus a support mage, I have a lot of trouble. A strength mage is nearly as deadly, while dex mages simply wipe the floor with me. I remember using a warrior mage at the beginning of Omega and I had a win rate of 85%. AND this was when Strength Mercenaries were the bane of all players.

I disagree that Static Charge should be less powerful than assimilation. Why? TM's have reroute already, so an energy regen that gains back MORE than one that is SUPPOSED to be viable to the class....isn't right.



I see casters now with 100+tech, 5 PB, max reroute and 5 Assimilation. Basically they are EP controllers, especially with the bug going around.

Erm.. so what? 2 ways to get Energy, yes. But CHs have EMP and TMs have Assimilation that is significantly weaker than mere Lvl 1 EMP when maxed. Difference is EP cost and EP return, but 10 skill points vs. 1 is... no comment.

So, by your logic, CHs could get MA as well? You have passive Armor so why not more defence? Giving you reliable EP regen similar in power to Assimilation would be giving you pretty much a passive EP regen which goes outside of the 3: passive Armor, passive EP/HP regen and a debuff. Mages have two and Assimilation is a bonus to passive EP regen. CHs would get reliable EP regen each 2 turns if it was buffed that much. Comparable in power to Reroute but you'd deal damage as well and could get abused. Pretty much pre-nerf SC.

Okay okay guys, I tried Tech Mage out and here are my thoughts.

Its defenses are seriously bad. There has to be some kind of way that can help it maintain it's health whether it's through health regain or something to shield it.
Its offenses are way too strong, especially if it starts first.

TM is seriously way too strong with both offenses and EP control. The only thing it lacks greatly though is defenses and perhaps it should get a buff there. Some people might say technician is the best move to go with tanking, but it's really not enough. I mostly blame the lack of health in Omega, but TM already did show this weakness before Omega. Perhaps shields should get a buff.

Erm.. there's a reason why I was for a nerf to Plasma Bolt but some people were saying the opposite. <.< Defence was always somewhat lacking for TMs, I've noticed that back when I was a TM up until very late Delta. Although, back then, Assimilation was much weaker.

Defensive buff, huh? I've never thought of it since I could cope as a TM back then by using decent Technician and Defence Matrix but it may be different now, in Omega.

I was thinking for Assimilation, you steal your opponents energy into health

So you take 14 energy, you get 14 health. I think that's A LOT better.

Assimilation is to provide on-demand Energy, not HP. And I'd say this would be even worse; they could cope with Reroute + Caster build and abuse it, and now they'd get guaranteed HP back. Lolnope.

But casters won't get energy that easily to do seriously high damage. Giving them extra energy is waaaay worse than giving them extra health.

Giving them HP and EP is worse. They can loop with Reroute on its own already, they could prior to Omega, and during Omega (but prior to Assimilation buff). It's not that hard. Giving them on-demand HP is just too much. Drains EP to destroy one's build and you get HP back on top of it. HP = survival = more EP regained via Reroute + you still deal damage.

And they won't change the purpose of the skill, and that is to provide on-demand Energy.

Everyone knows HP is greater then EP. While it may slow down casters, Focus TM (One of the classes that are actually weak with focus) would get a buff as well as strength TM.

^It should balance it out more since focus TM is a bit weak.
As for str TM, it should be fine too.
