Something that confuses me big time. A lot of people have been claiming NPC were used for an escape of bad balance from PVP. My question is what is stopping you from doing so now? You can battle NPC unlimited unlike before and you can still escape the bad balance by gathering credit rewards for things you want.

Or is it that people just want NPC back so they can have their punching bags for wins back (since it doesn't take much to find a NPC within you level range or even at your level to grind on? Because in all honestly that is the only difference between all the other phases and omega with NPC.

the problem is, right now there is no progression going on if we NPC now.
everything in ED is based on wins. all time LBs, daily LBs, etc.
it is pointless to do NPCs if it doesn't give wins.

also about the credits, most old players (im referring to the ones with lots of wins, and tons of credits) dont have much credit problems now.

since omega came, the most i have spent in credits is 35k. and i had 200k before omega started.

NDB -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/20/2013 23:43:41)

@mother1 Everyone knows that that cap was bogus crap. It doesn't mean anything.

Mother1 -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/20/2013 23:51:57)

@ NDB

It means that people were actually farming NPC and were doing it quite a bit. Cause if NPC were as useless as everyone here claims then why put a cap on them when they were promised to be unlimited so we could use them to keep up to date with gear updates and credits?

NDB -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/20/2013 23:57:05)

I'm smart enough to get that that was the idea, ok? But you should be smart enough to figure out that barely anybody was actually desperate enough to do that unless they were low level where you still get xp up to 10.

Mother1 -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/21/2013 0:06:18)

@ NDB

Getting credit rewards for fighting NPC at my level while digging for mission drops actually made the grinding of NPC worth it since I knew that each time I would win I would get a reward for beating them be it the credits (if the item didn't drop) or both. The credits are also nice when I was grinding for cash for items I wanted. Not everyone has 200K credits or more and while Hardcore players find NPC worthless (since they don't need credits) People who are doing missions for item drops, as well as people who are low on credits found these useful and putting that cap on them is IMO yet another broken promise made.

NDB -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/21/2013 0:12:34)

You have an odd habit of keeping on bringing up ever circumstance possible. When most people talk about things, we assume that it is under the normal conditions--in this case, I am not referring to someone who is doing a mission or is desperate for credits. We are talking about the average player on a normal occasion. Besides, in your first post, you were talking about players who wanted to avoid PvP because of poor balance NOT because of the reasons you have just listed (so please, don't change the subject to point out how I'm wrong).

Mother1 -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/21/2013 0:24:40)

@ NDB

I accepted your first answer and I left that. However you also said that people didn't care about the credits given so I left my original question (Which you answered) and brought up other things to prove otherwise. Sorry if I offended you by going off subject.

kosmo -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/21/2013 2:05:38)

mother i totally agree whit u.
try 2 grind brakilagus, he has a nice emerald drop ratio.
i had 4k, and when the hazzards came out i just stareted 2 kill him, after a few days i had more than 150 emeralds which can be sold for 200 credits each, and i bought my bot.
back to topic:
why should i be forced 2 grind npc 2 get in lb? why?
npc should not be a free win, u should earn ur wins.
i eard someone sayng that leaderbords are already massed up, thats not totally true, all times lb can be already messed, but daily ones are real.

Drianx -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/21/2013 2:11:20)

why should you be forced to get in lb in the first place?

Or perhaps this is more clear: do you really think it is important to be in lb together with all those lv20s in a 400-player game?

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/21/2013 2:13:57)

NPCs should be counted towards your win/loss once it is made to scale with your level, fighting them is like like fighting a real player but a bit harder, they can rage, lower health pool and defense since they now can rage.

bosses like george lowe, admin 11, armor hazard should stay as they are now

Angels Holocaust -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/21/2013 10:32:18)

I feel as though this post is over 100 days late. These were issues that were brought up to the devs before npcs were removed and they still went ahead and removed them. The people posting right now are begging to have them re-implemented but with a darker twist, making them a lot harder. There was nothing wrong with npcs in the first place, there is no need to make them harder or easier. The only people who complained were the players who were too lazy to farm them or had terrible win ratios. The decision to remove npcs involved an in game poll and seeing as how the Devs went against the players wishes and still removed them, it shows that they do not care about the majority and in fact seeks to appease the minority.

kosmo -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/22/2013 8:35:38)

^ thats not the common opinion of active players, there are alot of players that rlly supported the npc change.
what is a 97% win rate when its made out of npc kills?

Xendran -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/22/2013 13:51:53)

Kosmo: If you are going to continute ignoring extremely important aspects such as the separation of NPC and PVP ratios, I'm afraid i'll have to report your posts as spam.
You are intentionally disregarding very core aspects of something in order to argue for the sake of arguing.

kosmo -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/23/2013 5:20:59)

^ im really talking whit u......
do u think angels is talkng about separate ratios? i doubt it....
whatever if there is a separation between npc and pvp wins i can agree whit them to count on a different record, but i dont think that this will encourage peaple who quitted to come back, so i dont think this is really a priority....

I simply stopped expecting that everyone here is able to understand important matters and necessary changes to the game.

I will always remember when I asked for a higher compensation at the start of Omega how I got countered by players themselves...

kosmo -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/23/2013 7:07:36)

so if someone disagrees whit you he doesnt understand the changes that are needed to the game?

Amusing.
Since when is someones opinion spam?

RageSoul -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/23/2013 7:24:38)

@kosmo
If you don't like it , either give a better idea or don't argue further .

P.S : not mini-modding

Xendran -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/23/2013 7:30:32)

Since when is someones opinion spam?

It is spam if it ignores aspects of something that drastically change it compared to what is being presented by said persons opinion.
Essentially, presenting an opinion about something that the thread isn't actually about.

Mysterion. -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/23/2013 7:41:51)

^ The subject of this thread is to discuss the importancy of NPC- wins/losses counting towards a (seperate) record, is it not?

I've read through all Kosmo's post, all his posts are related to this subject, except for post no. 116.
Maybe you should read the definition of spam?
quote:

An electronic message is "spam" if (A) the recipient's personal identity and context are irrelevant because the message is equally applicable to many other potential recipients; AND (B) the recipient has not verifiably granted deliberate, explicit, and still-revocable permission for it to be sent.

If both are not applied, it is not spam.
In this case, B is not applied which makes it no spam.

On topic: I agree with you, even if i will not use it myself.

I was mad about this cap initially but naw can make about 7k a day alone doing 100 npcs on power hour thats a core a day no excuse anyone anymore to be under equipped.

kosmo -> RE: Why NPC wins are good for the game (5/23/2013 9:09:02)

Xedran
again i was not talking whit u, i was talking whit angels, that surely is not suggesting two different records.
back to topic: i just think that a new npc record is useless and absolutly not a priority. (ty mysterion)
