Patch Notes - 1.5.16
NEW CHANGES/FEATURES:

  • New Exile / Legion packages added to the store
  • Added a mail search field (searches the sender, subject, and message)
  • Character stats page now shows Faction alignment
  • Faction Founders now have access to a "Send all" mail button for their faction.
BALANCE CHANGES:
  • Mercenary
  • This change is a first step in providing Mercenaries with more of the tools they need.
    • Atom Smasher replaced with Static Smash
    • Static Smash - Absorbs energy from the enemy as a percentage of damage done. Costs 0 Energy.
  • Static Charge
  • As an Energy-generation tool, Static Charge has fallen behind other similar skills.
    • Increased energy gain by 7% at all levels
  • Plasma Bolt
  • Both the stat scaling and the early-level damage on Plasma Bolt were a bit too high, this should bring it more in line with other tier 1 spells.
    • Base damage decreased by 1 at all levels
    • Stat scaling decreased from 3 to 3.5
  • Critical Strikes
  • This change is intended to further mitigate the impact that critical strikes can have in certain situations.
    • Minimum damage increase changed from 4-9 to 3-6 (depending on level)
  • Blood Mage
  • This change is simply to put the Blood Mage multi-target skill in the same place as the other classes.
    • Position of Overload and Plasma Rain swapped in skill tree
BUGS FIXED:
  • Fixed an issue preventing Davarril from being challenged.
  • Fixed missing formatting in Varium shop descriptions
  • Error messages added when clicking "Send Mail" with no buddy selected
  • Failed mail recipients are now automatically removed from the send list

this patch is actually has some good balance changes. Also look like no passives were touch so all the doom predictions were wrong lol.

im curious to see how this new energy thing will work for mercs. Also, if the swap for bloodmage will help in even the littlest bit.

Yeah they can. The skill is designed to drain energy and adds a percentage drained to energy pool.

Actually the energy that is absorbed is what is drain if I am reading right since it said that it is absorbing energy from them. But on another note I might go back to being a merc again since they are my second favorite class.

It has.. urm.. buffs! Something that people want instead of nerfs. Well, except for PB which will lose very little damage; 33.33 damage at 100 Tech with Tech/3, to 28.57 damage at 100 Tech with Tech/3.5 & -1 damage decrease. So top Casters will look at maybe 5 damage less. Still neat.

Crit change is great, it really is. BM should be fine (no difference for me) and SC + Atom changes are really good. SC needed that buff like players wanted - and 7% should make a difference - and new Atom could be great buff for Mercenaries. Love it.

I haven't noticed anything new about Tech Mages, except for the -1 Damage. Is there any other new stuff concerning them?

There are no changes to Bounty Hunters, right? If not, I'm glad. Cause I just finished my new build and I'd like for it to stay the way it is for a while xD Changes looking good, though.

Hmm, mercs with assimilation? Hope TLM are keeping Atom Smash, they get enough energy from reroute. Either way, im glad this happened, Mercs have needed this for a long time. Same for SC buff and PB nerf, looks like this is a great balance patch! Not wild about the critical nerf though, about the only effect it would seem to have is as a buff for Juggs, didnt they recently get one in the form of lower level opponents?

I wouldn't call new Atom to be like Assimilation. They are similar, yes, but it drains EP and gives you % back - depending on the skill level - and doesn't deal any damage. :P

Looks like I won't be able to play it until Monday evening. Being on holiday where there's no internet but using your phone as modem doesn't work quite well with MMORPG games. Can barely log in, let alone fight.

just tested the skill and you drain energy at lvl 3 half of the energy the opponent loses (ex: 30= 15 taken) don't know what happens at blocks...but looks good

*cough* But I thought Devs don't listen to player suggestions and do as they please? :o Perhaps not? SC buff was also requested by players, likewise with Bolt nerf - which isn't anything major yet still effective - and Crits being devastating as well! Now your Atom idea is even there! What sorcery is this?! :o

I just tested Legion Strike and Meteor Shower on the same NPC, and I dealt more damage with Legion strike than I did with Meteor Shower. I guess this depends on the NPC (Nega Wraith in this case) and their stats.

I'm uncertain whether or not I should go with Meteor Shower or Legion Strike from now on. I know Meteor Shower deals 110 % damage, does any one know the normal damage and bonus damage (when facing players with different alignment) of Legion/Exile Strike?

Brachilagus is "bugged", I m really mad.This npc is the only way to keep farming credits after the 100 kill by dropping his emeralds that can be sold for 200, now when you click on him nothing happens....And just when new expensive wepons come out what do they do?They force us to take big time if we want to buy them with credits.....This is not honest at all and not even the first time devs make some change and call it a bug......

Poor support mercs are going to have to read some beginner guides now to get used to using a build that requires some skill. I genuinely feel for them .

OPed means it's unbeatable. Once your EP is gone, Static Smash is as useless as Assimilation. Also, Mercs only have HA and Intimidate as opposed to Reroute of TMs which makes looping much easier. If people can beat the build, it's not OP. If you cannot beat the build, your build needs tweaking or it's your weakness.

Switching overload with Plasma rain does not bring balance to the multis Plasma Rain and multi-shot will still do far less damage than Artillery Strike and there is no weapons that improves with dex.
