Guys seriously? U complained that Assimilation is too OP and now moving to static smasher?
Or just want to nerf the static smasher so casters and BHs be OP again? Lmfao. NBD
And you guys know that Smasher can * BLOCK * , and emp cant.

Static Smash needs a slight nerf by the %, assimilation needs to be reworked or nerfed.

yeah static is found to be just right atm.
Very easy to counter.
If it gets to the point were its stealing like 40 ep
then there full str build and there basically losing a turn full of hp
by not doing 30 dmg instead which leads to their death in cases against me.
If not major str it steals like 22-30 and it's no big woop

At low levels it is fine, at high levels it steals a little too much, so just lower the percentage or something.

@ale 6300, the switching of hybrid armour wont make it UP... it helps because amny mercs go for the bunker tech build today, so it will cover their weak spot. then if they are against some1 with high energy burst dmg moves like plasma they can just switch it to tech. so much better. this will also allow them to focus armour poinst to resist, for generator so they can use a lvl 6 bunker repeatedly. what they shud also do is remove the support requirement and apply a tec and dex requirement so mercs can build tanky, which is what they were made 4 at the start- not silly support abusers.

Edit: Guys, i think i found the best merc build ever
max hybrid
1 BC
1 artillery
7 surgical
1 intimidate
1 maul
6 static smash
4 heal
5 adrenaline

This build needs 5 focus, High tec, 50 support, high health and good defence. you need a bot, the best would be botanical bazard(for poison) or Infernal Android.

Also u can use bunker instead of adrenaline

Lol? r u kidding me? do u know what mercs were like in beta? I guess u dont. merc wasnt ade for great dmg, it was made to take little damage in a battle and outdamage the opponent because they cant break though your defence. Tact merc was (when it was made) for poison/health builds and smoke/str builds. Epicduel has messed some of the classes up and i dont think they should mess merc up more. it wasnt good without the new move and it will never be good if they keep changing it. Just keep static smash in andstop changing merc!

Meh, i dont agree with you king frostlick, cos merc has needed this buff for AGES and assim has alrdy recieved its nerf, so it isnt as good for tec stacking mages.

Divine actualy merc were concepted to be damage dealears..i mean look at their skills. hibrid armor ignored completely on rage...skills like berserk maul, double strike...when tacticat mercenaries were first made were abused because they had passive armor, ep regen,smoke screen frenzy...(i encountered many support build like this one) but after they were adapted to every class standard they were made for tanking...what skill should tactical merc use for loads of damage beside the ultimate? stun grenade? And for god sake use the edit button.

@ED Divine Darkness: Use the edit button rather than pointlessly making 4 posts right next to each other by the same person. Back in beta, merc still was a damage dealing class. It was only when it had iron skin or whatever it was called that hybrid replaced that made it defensive back in alpha. In beta and gamma, there were humongous amounts of strength and support mercs running around with their fast-kill builds.

static smash should not be nerfed a lot. It just needs a slight nerf. Its percentage should get nerfed slightly. Maybe 5 to 10 percent but thats all

It should be a lesser % then atom smasher tho fer sure.

Would only make sense that a skill that only takes away EP should have a higher %
then the skill that steals EP.(especially since the EP steal cost nothing and the EP drain cost EP)

Lol, devs said this is one of the buffs that mercenary needed so I don t think it will be nerfed.Merc has no shields to boost his defences so it s reasonable for it to have the best energy drain skill.Imagine all those sitiuations when mercs get first emped and then smoked/malfed, they just can t do nothing, now with the static smsher they have some chance by both good emp and good energy regain that allows them to use their skills too (that also have an higher energy cost compared to other classes if you wanna make some damage)

Static smash needs no nerf cos it can block and is totally countered by smoke ,SA and dex abusers(not many dex abusers).

I hav a merc and alot of the time i am a gainst a bounty and i get blocked alot so it isnt op.
That is why i prefer playing on my bounty.

I think bounty is a class needing a tiny buff because BL was nerfed, Mass was nerfed and STR was nerfed so their main build was totally destroyed.

A buff i think will suit bounty is a skill to replace venom with a move which is like deadly aim but can only be used every 2 or 3 turns. At max it does 20 or 30% extra weapon damage. It should do 30 extra weapon damage if it is blockable, 20 if it is unblockable

@ blood pact, they should atleast put blood lust back to 30% life steal cos that 5% reduc didnt make much of a difference ,and why did they buff cyber's static? It was alrdy good without that buff and now it may be a bit 2 good
I used to be cyber and it was fine in omega, just not my playstyle. Cyber certainly did not need that buff
BH dominates low lvl and is the best class if u hav azraels equipment, but it isnt that good at high lvls cos u can only build tec for your smoke.

Also, venom is useless for bounty since the poison nerf.
It would be fun if they made it so that poison procs blood lust

^ all those things can happen to atom smasher as well
but when static is blocked some EP drain still gets through.

BH most def do not need a buff, they are by far
one of the most used classes to date, because of
how powerful they STILL are.

Remember that there aren't people who spam stats. People like me who have a balanced build. There's not a good counter for Mercs if you didn't know. They don't have buffs to shield themselves from Smoke Screen or Malfunction. Healing will take a lot of their Energy and then once they are low on Energy and if you keep on using debuffs, it's nearly over. Static Smash let's them deal in this situation and since the Hunters' EMP grenade can take over 30 in a singe turn, it is great since you can get Energy back. EMP grenade costs 10 Energy at Level 1 and it's a great number but it can drain a high amount of Energy if you are spamming Technology.

Static Smash is helpful for Mercenaries as it lets them survive longer. If the Energy regain was lowered to 50%, it would be harder to get the amount of Energy required to do their normal things. 60 to 70% would be fine IMO.


As for BHs, they are the one Class I hate the most. Once they use their Smoke Screen, they deal 2-4 times more damage than usual and get back around 6-9 HP which I cannot deal if I have to heal up often.

OF course it's not OP, just people who killed mercenaries easily now are crying because they are now a real match. Come on. Let this game be more interesting and less boring. Always you complaining about every change, looks like most of you simply cant win with any class :O

Actually I personally have yet to loose to a merc :/ after the static smash addition.
I'm sure after adrenalin is replaced tho the class will go to OP with the current StaticSmash.

50% is much to low,but 7x% seems a bit high.

But all the current suggestions are partially a waste of words.
We really got to wait to see how passives being turn into actives turns out.

have you been reading the rest of this thread?

Mercs are not Seriously OP.
this skill doesnt make them strong, it lets them make you weak at no cost.
they had no way ot regain health or energy, so one was necessary.

Being able to compete =/= OP. Yes, we all got used to Mercenaries being a pushover but being able to fight at an equal ground doesn't make them OP. They are humans too, not free wins. :V

Static Smash is pretty balanced and works in a way like Assimilation. I don't see why players are already complaining about a skill that is balanced to a certain extent.

It's not OP, it works in a way that it is fair and for a challenge.

Plus it's a skill that can finally work in my favor in certain matches.
