Q...Q -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/25/2013 8:02:40)

I use GG or "good game" in other games... Not in a battle game..
Instead i say Good fight, imo.

doomkiller98 -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/25/2013 11:24:10)

Yeah well you know someone is rubbing it in your face when they start spamming it....

Giras Wolfe -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/25/2013 14:06:41)

I think you're overreacting to something that is, for many people, a polite gesture.

Usually, if I end up being over-lucky, I apologize to the other player, and when the other player is lucky I have a good sense of humor about it.

You really can't just assume someone is intending to be rude, unless they say something explicitly rude, like "noob."

But yeah, there is this certain group, especially at lower levels who use "GG" as a way to declare that the game is over, like right before using their rage aux. They must be re-educated.

Rayman -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/25/2013 14:43:40)

Saying GG Is Annoying. That's it.

It's better to say Get OWN Son!

Yea, when they say "gg noob" it is seriously annoying. Why in the world would you respect someone by saying gg, then disrespect them by calling them a noob O.o

comicalbike -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/25/2013 15:04:41)

don't worry about it i get called names all the time

RabbleFroth -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/25/2013 16:55:38)

I generally say "gg" or "gg wp" (good game well played) after a close or interesting match. I'll also say it if the person was obviously having a good time in the fight since I don't think they'll take it negatively.

Mostly a habit from playing years of strategy games where that was considered the sportsman-like way to finish out a match.

Angels Holocaust -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/25/2013 17:20:42)

I just stay quiet and play. This game has been unbalanced since the beginning and continues to get worse with each stage, people who say GG are seeking to troll you. Ignore them and move on!

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/25/2013 18:21:59)

If me and the other guy are talking back and fourth through the match and both keep a level head I'll say GG once it switches over to their turn for the kill shot(My Ratio may be a 50-50 but I always seem to lose more than I win so idk).

Also if the match goes for a really long period of time because of tactics and not luck I will say good game because it was actually a good game

HOW! O.o

GG is a compliment :/

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/25/2013 20:44:19)

@ Dual

I think she means when people know their going to beat you because their build is effective against yours ( you have no chance to win ) and say GG just to mock you.

Midnightsoul -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/25/2013 20:46:37)

Some people are polite about "GG"...BUT...

some people think "GG" means "you're dead" like what 8x said.
And yeah...some people add "noob".

How do comments like this get to stay on the forums? The negative post isn't even constructive. If it was constructive, ok, but really??

Stabilis -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/25/2013 22:12:06)

I used to say "good game", then I grew tired of that so I started hi5'ing and bumping.

STRUT MY MUTT -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/25/2013 22:24:03)

I have to LOL because it seems we have a bunch of video game nerds in this thread. (no offense intended) I say that because obviously none of you have played sports. More so as a kid, after baseball or a soccer match, both teams had to line up and shake hands with everyone on the other team and say 'Good Game'. It's a show of good sportsmanship, nothing more. So you guys be a good sport and try to have a good attitude. When we had attitude, I used to have a coach who said, "You need a check up from the neck up".

Good Game everyone!

THE MUTT

Trizkial -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/25/2013 23:15:27)

Whether I win or lose I like to say - "well fought" when, one: my opponent put up a sincere fight and made the match interesting, and two: when they seem like they're level-headed and having fun. If the fight itself wasn't that great, but the person was level-headed and fun to play I like to say "well met!".

I try to keep comments like these sincere. Toss 'em around like candy on Halloween and they lose their meaning.

Thoughtlessly smacking the g key twice and hitting enter after flattening someone... That isn't good sportsmanship. In my opinion, the feeling that the game was good needs to be at least somewhat mutual. Otherwise having respect and acknowledging the game played for what it was is, in my opinion, the best way to go. Because to the team that just fell apart and got nuked by you, it probably wasn't a good game.

GearzHeadz -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/25/2013 23:35:59)

@Midnightsoul
Neither is yours.
But this is a thread about our personal opinions/mindset about the good-game saying. She stated hers.

Dual Thrusters -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/26/2013 1:07:24)

@strutt

I play basketball, and I don't ever recall anyone saying gg noob at the end of a game ._.

GearzHeadz -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/26/2013 1:22:35)

@Strut
Track, Cross Country, Wrestling.
But in real life, just like in this game, you can tell when they are trying to be smug jerks intentionally trying to spite you with their win.

DarkDevil -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/26/2013 5:35:56)

well , the defenition of "good game" has changed from "it was a good game and its a honor of fighting you" to "I win you lose HAHAHAH" not kiding , ppl now say it even at the starting of the fight when they get a better team or have better luck where it should go back to what it was as a respect to the enemy that its just a pvp game and there should not be any hatred.

killerman164 -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/26/2013 8:38:22)

I say GG when I get a bad team meaning "I wish I can just bash Titan for this bad luck" or "Welp, there's the lightning, and I'm.... dead"

But I do say gg in a proper manner, or a bad manner also. It only happens if people are just being jerks throughout the game.

kosmo -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/26/2013 8:48:33)

Good game is a respectful way to say bye, yes.If they gg, and it wasn t actually a good game, you still have to say gg to not sound disrespectfull.

DunkThatOreo -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/26/2013 8:59:21)

^You don't have to say anything, if you know you won because luck was on your side or you fight a player that's a lower level you shouldn't be saying gg. Your opponent will see it as you rubbing it in their face.

kosmo -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/26/2013 9:39:32)

Read my post propely......If they say gg you have to awser back, it has nothing to do with what your sayng. plus you re wrong too, because a low lvl can have a good game and a good game can have luck involved.

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/26/2013 11:41:27)

Lmao What's NB?

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: The mindset behind the saying "Good Game" (6/26/2013 11:57:18)
