Lord Ferret -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/20/2014 21:18:01)

I have had itfor a while now and find it an interesting and high powered armor so if you can just get it as you wont be disappointed in its abilities.

salene -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/20/2014 23:00:55)

I only use this armor as a last ditch kind of thing. The reason is that, IMO, the armor makes everything too easy, and thus takes some of the fun away. I only use It when there is a boss I can't beat, or something equal to that. The art truly is beautiful though, as well as the animations.

The Dark Slayer V -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (6/24/2014 14:11:19)

I just got this armor. My weapons average a lvl 80 74-102 damage except my sanguine doom axe. So i decided to put on Eye of the Void VI which is ??? damage and go for a spin in PVP to test it out.

My basic atk crit near 1.7k damage. My normal attacks without crit were anywhere from 933-1100. The skills were almost all one hit kills. When i used wake before hi used Void i hit 3.8k damage on a crit.

So frankly its just op until its almost disgusting. Love the look of it though because its one of the "Dark" armors.

But id rather riftwalker through the storyline and just use the DmK to catch up on those damned earth orb and water orb quests I missed

TimeKiller -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (6/24/2014 14:19:09)

When the going gets tough... The doomknight picks going up by the scruff of its neck and beats the tar out of it.

Dragonman -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (6/24/2014 14:21:04)

Doomknight is my "I only have ten minutes to do the new story quest" or "I really want to farm war waves/resources fast" Armor. When I'm actually playing the game, I hardly use it.

EDIT: And isn't that the point of Doomknight? To be a corruption, a powewr, that is so easy to fall into and use... and you have to resist it? Otherwise you become evil and the real fun goes away? :P

TimeKiller -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (6/24/2014 14:51:33)

@DragonMan Your right I for one am going to using doom knight to farm the 40 unlucky doom essences, 52 shadow bone shards, and 39 hearts to get the doom weapon i neglected to get at lower levels. If we didnt have this beautiful unbelievably OP armor it would be so much harder

Bunker -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (6/24/2014 22:08:05)

Unfortunately I just bought a DA last Thursday (about time considering my char is six years old) which means it'll take me at least 2 years before I an obtain it.
However, I have had the opportunity to test it out at a friend's house more than once. It's deferentially a fun class to use, makes DF so much easier and I will pick it up once I get the chance but I feel content with what I have for now. :D

Iluvpuntin -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (6/25/2014 23:09:13)

My favourite armor, I use it all the time cuz what's the point of buying it if u don't use? XD

The Odor -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (6/25/2014 23:16:54)

Iluv: Having it. XD

And making farming a tad quicker.

Womba -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (6/26/2014 0:00:40)

I'm not sure when I'll throw more money at AE. But with the male Break glitch now fixed (I think? I'm lurking more than anything else these days... even that only just a couple minutes every couple days) I can let Womba be a true manly hero again.

But besides that I dont think I'll even be using this class much longer myself. Gets kinda boring. The power is so addicting though.

Almighty Agathor -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/24/2015 17:27:37)

I got it a few days ago, and I have got to say, I paid $80 for it, so I am gonna use it! Lol

Alm Nullamors -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/24/2015 17:37:20)

If I bought it, I'd probably not use it until Mana Potion training is fixed. I've really seen it drain mana fast and honestly, the DCs are a bigger boon for me.
My slow and steady Immortal God DL is more fun anyway.

shadow dragon666 -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/24/2015 18:21:08)

As fun and as useful as a farming class it really is in truth...I'd rather it be revamped into something more functional.

I mean really ask yourself how many skills you actually use in DmK? I know me personally I use...maybe...3 counting the new nerf to MP and such.
Spikes cuase ya know stun, Blood Rite cause...Lul death, and then the reset potions cause need a lot of MP.

Beyond those few skills you may use break once in a blue moon to try and stun something but with the power you have, you really don't need it.

Add in the animations for some are kinda plain(Doesn't mean i want mega flashy lag inducing ones), other skills have little to no use pretty much ever.

Mordred -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/24/2015 18:41:57)

I definitely share the sentiment that I preferred DoomKnight before Rolith gave it the ridonkulous damage buff. DoomKnight used to be one of the most strategic classes in the game, with incredible new tools for heal loops, damage reflection, and various other debuffs. Now, it has so much brute, unthinking power that such tools are extraneous.

dragon_monster -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/24/2015 18:47:19)

^But then it will lose its usefulness as the best farming class and warring class.

Alm Nullamors -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/24/2015 18:57:06)

Dmk's definitely notorious, that's for sure.
Some like the extreme power that it offers while others want something more strategic. Editing the class in any way is quite a crazy scene, and you just can't please everyone.

Ash -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/24/2015 19:01:16)

If it were to get changes it would still be powerful, the strongest in the game, but it would also have more usable skills across the entire class. I'd also have to have two versions up and some sort of in game "buy yes for new skills or no for old skills" voting because if I change it I'd either upset the entire DmK community and please a few or please a majority and upset a few. I would want to make sure it's the latter not the former so I don't end up with my head on a pike because "ermahgerd he changed DmK!"

shadow dragon666 -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/24/2015 19:13:22)

dragon_monster: In truth if you left a few skills intact(Mainly spikes and the basic attack doing damage it does now) and revamp the rest the armor might be a lot more fun to use when you really think about it. Yeah we may not 1 shot all life on the game or we still might with some luck and crit with skills. As it is now and as I asked what skills do you actually use? I noted 3. Do you use the same or perhaps less/more?

Ash: This is an out in the dark one here, but I'll ask it anyway.

Would it be possible to have say a merge shop? Where players could switch between old(Current) and new(Changed) DmK skills? This would allow us a best of both worlds and thus people can't complain and try to put your head on a pike cause omgerhed mah dmks isn't to strongk nao.

dragon_monster -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/24/2015 19:22:52)

^Well yeah spike was the most used but now with the revamp its blood because well its faster. I only use doomknight for war and used it for farming not anymore as I am level 80 and I do not want that to change.

shadow dragon666 -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/24/2015 19:25:44)

So the actually useful slightly OP skill keep it since it's versatile and blood rite can be changed etc.

Even more so if we can have the merge idea since it'd allow people to try things out and such, hell even if it was made to have some sort of cost on it 50-100 DC's per swap first two being free to test them out.

Ash -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/24/2015 19:38:16)

That requires two DB slots. That idea got shot down for class revamps. If it was a matter of just putting a toggle in I wouldn't worry about the vote. it's 1 slot per class right now to save space.

shadow dragon666 -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/24/2015 19:50:45)

Ah I see..Welp that's a shame.

It should break the rules since it's a special class among special classes xD

The ErosionSeeker -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/24/2015 19:52:37)

Is that the same case with the old/new Dragonrider skills?
I'm thinking that if it couldn't be 2 alternate merges, could it be a person who helps you put on your DmK, and then gives the option to configure it between A and B?

Almighty Agathor -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/24/2015 19:54:19)

quote:

"ermahgerd he changed DmK!"

That made my day! Haha. Anyways, I use most, I don't really use the buff against undead, or weaken to darkness. I also don't use Favor. I have used Void, and I haven't used Revert. I do, however, use the rest of the skills. Im level 64, and I have 130 STR, 130 WIS, 45 END, and 10 LUK. So, I couldn't tell you why you are running out of Mana so quickly.

@Ash, I probably should ask, is there anything planned for possible items to match the DmK armor in the near future? Or are we just stuck with what there currently is? Don't get me wrong, I am really happy with the class!

GreenGuy23 -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/24/2015 19:58:23)

@Agathor There are some helmets that look pretty nice with the set for sale (DCs) from the Mysterious Stranger outside Falconreach.
