Lord Machaar -> FrostBite (7/14/2013 10:20:12)

FrostBite core was the only thing that makes the frost weapons unique and specifique, and with the new cores similar to it, such as Frost Shards, the core became useless, actually the whole set of frost weapons, became useless, like anyother weapon, I mean why the FrostBite core is still locked, what's the point? if there is a similar core to it.
I don't know if there is a lack of cores, or there is no ideas for new cores, but sincerely, this is not enough to copy/paste the cores, and stay spinning in the same circles, well, there are a lot of ideas, and I'm sure players are prepared to express theirs, and every core I see, except ofcourse the varuim ones, because you spend more time working on them... are spinning in the same cirlces, consisting on regular things, deflects, blocks, crits, nothing new.

Q...Q -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 10:26:35)

Yeah the devs think were stupid.

Rayman -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 10:31:29)

Yeh, The only difference is that 1 is blockable and the other 1 is deflectable, and the animation.

The Incredible Hulk -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 10:32:32)

^^

The deflectable is much better then the blockable

Ranloth -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 10:34:31)

Because some weapons remain unique with rare cores. Only because a rare core exists, it doesn't mean they cannot release ~same one. One works off blocks, one with deflection, both can be useful but one is locked and perma-rare.

I don't see you saying anything about Jack-o-Fire + Thorn Assault and in-game versions under the name of Meteor and Plasma Shower. Likewise with new promo having the same core but boosting its damage on opposing alignment.

Lastly, what's wrong in rare cores being brought back under different name and working a bit differently? For now, it'll provide variety since there's lack of cores. Once War is over and they can focus on non-War related content, we can talk about brand new cores. There is no policy saying your weapon's effect will be perma rare, nor there will be such. If that was the case, say bye to variety in the future since rare cores would be rare and variety would be crippled. How so? All promos have rare cores, now you cannot make anything similar to them. Yes, great thinking.

If you find it useless, don't use it.

Mysterion. -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 10:34:52)

That is the problem.
An unique item gets neglected by a regular core that is buyable for everyone..

Lord Machaar -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 10:40:35)

@Trans

I took the frostbite just as an example, and in the thread I spoke generally, and I'll tell you what's wrong with copying cores, first of all, certain weapons will lose their charm, I won't need to buy new weapons, since with one weapon, I can equip any core I want, I mean, you can copy any core, but atleast add something up on it, or change it a little bit, the only thing I see is changing names, and maybe the animation, effects remains the same, what's so special about that?

kosmo -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 10:41:17)

This is part of their policy.The only weps intended to be exclusevly varium are phase promo weps, like delta and omega weps; other promo wep cores have now a credit version, such as metheor shower and frost shards, even stun blast has a credit version for aux.
Most important, you might not remember: FROSBITE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO ACTIVE AFTER IT WENT RARE, SO YOU NEVER DECIDED TO BUY AN ACTIVE FROSTBITE.

Ever heard of the ''Core Forge''? What lies...What lies...

And by the time war is finished; they still may be working on their top priority which is daily missions.

Rayman -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 10:53:22)

Yes Ik, I was only stating the differences Lol.

And 2. You are using 2 of these ^^, That means you are talking to the guy above me, if you wanna reply to the guy above you use only one ^
Just saying it, since you can confuse some people.

Ranloth -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 10:55:00)

Also, we all know promos are in-game the year after they were released, right? Doesn't that take the uniqueness away? You wait a year and have a promo core. Since old promos don't work with that policy (such as Frost Destroyer), they couldn't bring the exact core.

The more you know.

Mysterion. -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 11:02:37)

quote:

Doesn't that take the uniqueness away?

Since it still is an one of a kind core, no.

Seasonal core to be exact.
It isn't a promo-only anymore so you can't call it a promo core.

Ranloth -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 11:05:10)

Well, yeah, seasonal core. <.< I still see it as promo for a year and seasonal after but that's just me being me.

Mother1 -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 12:02:07)

Frostbite wasn't the first core they made a almost copy of. They did this to the stun gun sore (Aux stun blast) so that unique promo was made common in aux form, Then they made the Azreal's torment which does the same thing as heart attack with the azreal's borg. while the later isn't available to the masses yet it will be when it is back in season. They also did the same with thorn assault and jack of fire when they made the meteor cores. There are only a few promo's left that haven't had their effects ripped off but give it time and they will do it to those's as well.

kittycat -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 14:19:49)

The only cores that are still intact are Massive Strike, Chairman's Fury, And I don't know anything else that's still intact.

The Incredible Hulk -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 14:53:57)

^^

Massive strike is so useless anyway. The critical rate of massive strike has been reduced & a core to diminish the massive strike to 2%
Maybe massive strike should be called Minimum strike!

Stabilis -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 18:14:18)

The art itself that embodies each core is limited to timeline restrictions in Flash that allow Charfade or Nightwraith to use around 5 seconds for any given animation. This is for convenience to the players but more so the servers. Corporate bandwidth. I still say why not allow the public to download all media that staff would consider to be appropriate for client-based loading on the players' part? That way there is no (executive) limit to how much data the artists converge while designing images and animations (as are currently determined by Titan).

The Incredible Hulk -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 18:53:45)

^^

I 100% support your idea depressed. No wonder why that game (not ED) has 40k players on it everyday...

Lord Machaar -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 21:01:43)

The copy/paste thing works for a purppose, to create a balanced environement between the var and the non-var players, now that's good, and I'm totally supporting it, but the thing is, you can serve this purpose with much more elegant way, make cores for each side, with special effects in both sides, maybe similiar, maybe the base idea is the same, but atleast the effects are a bit different, not changing just the name and animation and letting everything else as it is.

AQWorldsFarmer -> RE: FrostBite (7/14/2013 22:14:51)

*cough* I happen to have Thorn Assault and i dont complain again plasma shower, why?

BECAUSE THORN ASSAULT DOES 115% while plasma shower only does 110%. So in a way, it still remains unique.

Drangonslayer -> RE: FrostBite (7/15/2013 0:27:51)

^But you are locked with a type of damage as where for the meteors you can choose your own type.

Dual Thrusters -> RE: FrostBite (7/15/2013 1:13:09)

@slayer

Yea, if you pay 7,000 credits.

kosmo -> RE: FrostBite (7/15/2013 2:39:22)

Those who had frost weps got a unique core that lasted long and a great boost with omega, since you got it changed to active, when other promos got nerfed in many cases, you shuld be grateful for that
@Aqw farmer.Yes thorm assault is 115%, but plasma/metheor shower on a sword will hit very close to it, plus it has phis/energy version and you can use on any type of wep.

AQWorldsFarmer -> RE: FrostBite (7/15/2013 3:09:20)

^ as many people say, its mainly a dress up game now, right? Well thorn assault has a different animation and i love it.

kosmo -> RE: FrostBite (7/15/2013 3:23:50)

Yes your re right on that point and it has a unique use too for certain builds, also frostbite is stronger for str builds using consistent dex and who uses lucky strike core.
