I think that instead of a 100% chance to make the opponent strike the core should act on a roll that uses the following components:

100 vs Support
Focus vs Focus

say the attacker has no focus and the defender has 5 focus, the defender now has an advantage of 50 to be used on the support roll, you can guess what happens for other cases. I personally think this would perfectly balance this core and just in time too with this weapon and core combo returning next year for everyone to buy.

Mother1 -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 8:57:08)

Not going to happen since if they do this everyone who paid real money for the core will call false adveertisement sine they paid for a core that makes your opponent forced to strike you not anything else.

DarkDevil -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 10:57:34)

cores should not depend on stats nor focus , cores are usable by ALL builds , you won't come and chain that.

Sensei Chan -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 12:38:50)

Quite a couple of people paid a good amount of money for that gun and core including me it will never be nerfed and will stay a promotional item as Mother1 said and if they do get nerfed I would sue this community for scam and false advertisement.

Mother1 -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 14:02:05)

@ sensei chan

When you agreed to their TOS you gave up the right to sue. So as it is now you can't sue them for false advertisement.

I mentioned that because if they change this core from what it was advertised originally it would make varium buyer think twice and have that doubt of "What if I buy this core only for them to change it later to something completely different due to subjective balance issues"

If they plant that seed of doubt into the buyer's heads then it could hurt them in the long run.

Dreiko Shadrack -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 14:30:32)

Honestly a balanced game is better for the business of this game than any potential niggles on some player's parts when buying new packages would ever impact it.

Mother1 -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 14:53:49)

@ Dreiko shadrack

Here is a little flash back. Remember when the golden yeti ticket was originally said to be a promo only perk in the advertising some time ago? Well 2 days later the staff forgetting this promise posted in the design notes that they were going to make the ticket available in game for a certain price when it was originally said it was a pre order perk.

Needless to say the forms were in an uproar over this, and like I said before many people complained over false advertising because many people brought the pre order for the ticket. When this happened Titan had to post in the design notes on a later date that they were going to stick to their promise and keep the tickets as a pre order perk.

I am guessing how does this relate to this? well I will explain.

Do you seriously think the people who originally brought the azreal's promo for this weapon would have brought this weapon if they knew it was going to be changed from 100% chance of a forced strike on their opponents to a 50% chance or whatever you are suggesting to change this to depending on build?

It is not only false advertising that can cause problems with the masses who buy promo's (which is the blood that makes the game work due to varium sells being their only source of income) but if I am reading correctly will be leaving a tactical decision up to chance which is something the masses would also be upset with.

Sensei Chan -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 14:57:44)

If anything that I buy in Promotional Package gets nerfed I cannot trust EpicDuel in future purposes and I might not ever play again.

Sig removed. Please use it once per page.

Dreiko Shadrack -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 15:00:22)

My point still stands.

DarkDevil -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 15:08:33)

the core is balanced , there is no need to nerf it , and if it was OP it would get balanced even if it was promo but it is not so this thread is pointless.
the weapon will come back next year for credit , promo just speed that up.

ND Mallet -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 15:39:49)

The strike should always happen, but it should have an added effect to it so the other player has to think before using it. Maybe the target has a 25% chance to crit the enemy when they strike, or the attack becomes unblockable or any other effect that will make you wonder if it's worth it or not. Right now, there is very little incentive not to use it. Almost have rage but your enemy has Surgical? Azrael's. They going to heal? Azrael's. They have a chance to kill you but you have a high block rate? Azrael's.

DarkDevil -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 19:16:56)

what about 25% more rage gain in that attack , seems balanced.
a crict or unblockable will be OP since u can block a zombie and a crict will be too much.

Mother1 -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 19:25:27)

@ Darkdevil

25% more rage plus the extra rage gained if they are blocked? That stacking could cause possible too much rage gain if they were to stack.

DarkDevil -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 19:37:16)

assuming you are a bounty with smoke and ninja reflex and 49% block then you got 49% chance of making it a stun therefore yes it is balanced if it stacks even if he gets rage on 3rd turn.

Bionic Bear -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 19:44:45)

Not a crit or extra rage, but the player could simply do some extra damage, say, 15% extra.

CN2025 -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 22:33:29)

the core does 85% from normal gun dmg so the rest of the gun dmg should be transfered to the other side great idea bionic bear

ND Mallet -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/22/2013 23:22:22)

You need more than 15% to actually make a difference, especially if the major users of the skill already have a high chance of blocking the strike.

GearzHeadz -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/23/2013 0:05:42)

As a buyer of the stun guns, a weapon with only a 5% chance to stun, and Azrael weapon's having a 100% chance to make an enemy blindly charge, I feel a little cheated... I wouldn't mind if the weapons got a nerf. A blind charge in most cases in which its used, is just as effective as stunning the opponent.

kosmo -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/23/2013 13:22:18)

i agree too that this core is unbalanced.

the fact that u paid for it doesnt really matter, it happend the same thing for enanchment , and i dont see why this broken core shouldnt be fixed too.

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/23/2013 14:04:33)

Why don't they just make a set of new sidearm/aux cores that are actually useful unlike energy shot so that there's more variety and people won't be dissatisfied that their cores got nerfed multiple times.

Ranloth -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/23/2013 14:12:08)

Comparing passive core (Stun) to active (Will) won't really work. You can stun indefinitely as long as the probability/luck works out in your favour, whilst Will will only work once and you're gonna take damage on top of it.

Bionic Bear -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/23/2013 21:36:12)

The stun guns might as well have an active core with 100% chance to stun, and only usable once.

GearzHeadz -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/23/2013 23:26:58)

I agree with that. Or at least 50% chance and only usable once.

Dual Thrusters -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/23/2013 23:32:05)

100% would make Azreal's Anguish look weak >>

Bionic Bear -> RE: Azrael's forced strike core a new take on balancing (8/23/2013 23:37:15)

However, not many people have the stun guns. And if they do, they most likely do not use them.
