We know what he means, but it is still edge, even if it isn't as powerful. They have weakened things in the past that people have paid for, and have paid for with REAL money.

this game isnt pay to play anymore, and your argument is wrong. before the nerf to azraels( which i can clearly see that you are referring to) they promised that it was coming back next year for creds. so, the people who spent money, got the advantage of not having to wait.
this is like aqw, you can buy a class with AC or just farm reputation and use gold.

as for omega core? this is like in games like aqw. You can buy a different playstyles, but it doesnt mean it is stronger. for example mage is a very good class, and can be just as good as evolved leprechaun. also, mage is the same as sorcerer, but you get the feeling of being higher and people looking up to you if you get something with real life money.

and guys, stop bullying Caspyin [:@]

I don't have the time and energy to teach all of those who do not understand how worthless frost shards have become. I have tried my best, it just seems to me most of you aren't even reading or doing the math on your own. But instead arguing for the sake of creating an argument.

My only hope and the purpose of this, is that hopefully the design team of ED takes notice of this thread, and knowing that they fully understand how GAIN works, because they had to have studied and learned about it at some point in order to attain their jobs, will see my mathematical points, and it is a very simple concept as they know.

I understand the overall effect of adding energy cost to cores, however I believe they need to revisit the cost of frost shards vs. its benefit. I feel frost shards should be a cost of 5 or less, otherwise its usefulness, is nearly completely negated, especially when you just compare it to the most basic reference point, which can only be... the big sword (normal attack).

King FrostLich -> RE: Frost Shards (11/3/2013 13:18:40)

And this is why cores should now be sellable(except the locked ones)

zion -> RE: Frost Shards (11/3/2013 16:35:37)

Definitely too much focus on his exact word usage which has amounted to nothing less than bullying....

He said the core is weaker - which it now is. How could anyone argue with the fact that the core was nerfed?

The only retort is that this was a widespread nerf that affected all cores, not merely the one mentioned in this thread.

Also, the exact usefulness of the core is entirely subjective, so no use arguing about that either.

As far as a solution, I see two:
(1) Make cores reusable (more than 1 use per battle) since the energy cost has merely turned them into wildcard skills and/or
(2) Make a core inventory or at least a method for selling a nerfed core.

lionblades -> RE: Frost Shards (11/3/2013 17:48:49)

IMO I think Frost Shards should have a higher first turn energy drain now but still the same energy (15) drained. Say maybe:

1. 9, 3, 3 = 3 turns and still 15 energy drain
....................or................................
2. <insert numbers>= 3 turns and still 15 energy drain

In all I think that since you are using 9 energy immediately the opponent should at least lose the same amount as well in the first turn (just like all the other energy draining skills <ie. assimilation, static etc> and the other energy draining cores) thus feeling more immediate gratification.

mr.c00ldude -> RE: Frost Shards (11/8/2013 12:26:16)

this is too accurate for words
