Pretty sure those are way more important than a game that would never be successful or bring in revenue. It's not a big deal anyways.

It's in beta, and it has a lot of potential. It would easily bring in revenue if they didn't keep all of its staff on other projects. It's really irresponsible and shortsighted of them to let games like HS, MQ, and OS die so they can work on side projects. Even AQ, AQW, and DF are declining because of how many staff members are being taken from them to work on mobile games. They do not have enough staff to work on 6+ games that are supposed to have frequent releases as well as several side projects; I really don't know what Artix was/is thinking. The more games they make, the worse the quality of each game becomes, since they are not keeping up by hiring staff.

This is not the correct thread to discuss such topic but if Artix want to make more games with better quality, he needs to hire more full-time staff members instead of taking away many staff members to create more games. A very bad move to make without hiring more staff IMO. Asking Nulgath ,the main OS game developer and Artist and Animator, to help out BG is really unacceptable as it greatly reduce OS's speed on ending Beta release and releasing plenty of new features/gameplay. I suggest Artix should start hire new staff members to help out in the current project they are working on so Nulgath and others can focus back on their main task.

Someone else needs to support the game other than Artix cause obviously he does not care.Only cares for AQW and it doesn't even occur to him that Oversoul can be as successful as that game with support

I can just suggest Artix should hire more staff members for new games/projects or if he can't do that, then he should consider to scrap the project as it will affect the quality of AE will be affected in the near future. Let's not get too off-topic otherwise the consequences will be dire.

So I've been bored lately and decided to take a stroll down OS's memory lane. I was surprised to find out that we are actually missing out on a lot of things let alone features. Nulgath is probably hurt the most out of all of us because as I was reading in the past, there was a ton of passion behind those words. Great promises were being thrown, excitement was being felt, and most importantly, a bright future was being envisioned. As I scrolled back up into the present, I realized there was less and less of Nulgath in the recent posts and promises began being postponed and then forgotten. He wanted all these features we want, more than 1 year ago! . . .

. . . RIP oversoul (Nulgath's dream).

Keep in mind that the assistant artist(s) would have to be able to replicate the AQW-style of drawing perfectly. Nulgath and the other paid artists probably don't have time for interns or artists who just want to learn. It's probably why Zoshi, Roroth, or Blade were chosen as staff, because they were already capable of replicating AE's particular style of drawing.

Ahh good memories from when OS was young xD

But still there is hope, we can just wait and see what the future brings. OS got so much potential, and hopefully Nulgath will start on getting back to it. It is afterall his first game and his passion in the beginning...

The best assistant artist right now, is Trizzy. He's even better than some of the hired artists. He's got Rev's skill level. ^_^

Edit: What I really want Nulgath to do is make character pages, and an update on the character inventory.

This is what happens when OS gets two of the best coders in AE. It was going to be expected when Warlic and Rolith became coders for OS and Nulgath did acquire the best for his game. I'm 100% positive Nulgath hasn't lost passion for this game, it's just the fact that the coders are being pulled away for side projects. If anything the mobile division of AE needs their own set of coders, but if anything goes array then can they pull the coders from the other divisions to play.

I think most of us would be OK about OS being postponed and crap because of BG and other dumb mobile games IF Nulgath and co. kept their Twitter and Forums updated.
I meaaan. . . they could at least be the one who MAKES the ''Discuss Beta Release #???'' topics, and answer a few questions maybe on Forums, and update the news on Twitter shortly. . .

Now he doesn't even update his Twitter much or at all.

Or at least I'd be OK with it .. if there were some communication between Players and Devs going on. . . without that it's dead.

Well I only pointed out why development is taking a good toll as it is and again the two best coders of the game are being pulled away to code the mobile division of AE hence why other than Bladehaven 3D should the mobile division get it's own set of coders, but the knowledge that the currents coders obtained is a good experience and a upstart to AE's game industry.

All in all at OS's current state and how AE wants to go to the direction to mobile gaming would merit OS pretty well if a mobile version was constructed, but sadly it was confirmed by Cysero that it was not meant to be. A mobile OS would bring in a pretty large crowd in the mobile gaming industry if BG turns out well as intended.

With that said, the end of BG's development is coming to a close when the webport and Android port finishes should OS's coders return to development, but we don't know what is next on AE's letter board on terms of development whether they decide to continue on with AQ3D or shuffle some coding work to Bladehaven 3D is currently unknown. If we can get some sort of news of the plans after BG would greatly gain an understanding with the current and future OS playerbase.

The game isn't ruined, it's just in a stalemate on terms of development on AE's venture to the mobile era.

See the thing is that AE is trying to expand to greater markets but they aren't willing to incur the expenses required to construct a larger team for the job. This is the primary reason why smaller games like OS are not getting attention. It's even more dire for OS because attention is necessary during its critical stage in order to grow and become a game as successful as AQW and perhaps even better as it has great potential.

IMO, they should not have bothered with moving onto the mobile market as this is clearly hindering the development of their current games. Unless, like Mondez has suggested, if they have their own separate division of coders for a totally separate gaming market then it would be feasible to expand without damaging their other game's reputation. We all know by now that OS has potential, but the fact that it isn't being recognized means AE is not being innovative.

I actually believe that if OS becomes a complete and fully functional game as it was meant to be and then some, it would totally be a game-changer. Unfortunately, this isn't the case and won't be for a while considering all the side projects Nulgath and his team have on their plates. The verdict is quite obvious indeed.

The thing is, due to the advent of smartphones in this day and age, a rather large population of casual players have games on their mobiles. I assume AE's trying to hitch a ride on the angry birds/ candy crush/ flappy bird mobile gaming craze. It's a gamble if you ask me, if it works, it could be the next big hit which should guarantee a large return for AE but if it doesn't, then all the time, money, and effort the staff put into it would be squandered. Idk, I'd honestly want to wait till BG's released and see how it impacts the market and the company as a whole before I pass judgement on it. Just my two cents.

There's all the time they spent on AQ3D just for Flash to no longer support 3D. It will be difficult for them to continue it and make all that time not a waste.

*Enters the room from the cracks of the walls.* Knock knock? Greetings mortals! Sorry for my lack of activity. I got bored since last week. Hmm. How long ago was the last release? ... Yeah, that explains why. With getting bored with searching for those irritating legendaries and failing to off about 4-5 DFR's I got tried and starting playing AQ classic a lot more. I hope that giant whale man and Death Water win though. they're my favorite.
