LUPUL LUNATIC -> RE: Spells - Read the first post! (12/31/2018 9:13:02)

Why does the New Year Spell has 1.2 Cost and -20% penalty ? I get the penalty for omnielemental was made in power reduction(*0.8) but why add the 1.2 cost too?

Ianthe -> RE: Spells - Read the first post! (12/31/2018 14:11:24)

Hopefully the last update for New Year's Surprise: it now gets -5% cost because it's MC. Thanks to AliceShiki for pointing this out!

Effect: +16 BTH for 5 rounds.
Level	10	35	60	85	110	135	143	115
Type	Z	Z	Z	Z	Z	Z	Z	Z
PowLvl	44	57	73	95	120	145	153	125

MPCost	145	202	274	377	504	646	695	531
SPCost	109	151	205	283	378	485	521	398

MCPrice	396	814	1474	2409	3674	5324	5940	3971
MCSell	Z	Z	Z	Z	Z	Z	Z	Z

(It affects all 8 elements, so it gets the omni-elemental penalty of *0.8 effect and *1.2 cost. MC reduces that to *0.8 effect and *1.15 cost.)

(+X BTH changes your base hit rate from 85% to (85+X)%, so you're effectively dealing *(85+X)/85 damage or more simply +X/85 damage. +20 BTH overcaps, but there's probably some dodgy monsters where you want that extra +5 BTH so the overcap doesn't matter. You're dealing *105/85 -> +20/85 damage for 5 turns, so it's worth x(5*20/85) of a Melee attack in SP/MP. Combined with the elemental penalty it's +(20*0.8)=+16 BTH for (100/85*1.15) of a Melee attack.)

Bu Kek Siansu -> RE: Spells - Read the first post! (1/1/2019 17:38:43)

^ Just to be sure:

Does the +16 BTH for 5 rounds also apply to Pet and Guest or ONLY to Player?

Thanks in advance.

Legendary Ash -> RE: Spells - Read the first post! (1/1/2019 19:18:34)

The BtH applies only to the Player as breakdown of Lv 143Z's Sp cost of 521*85/(385*1.15) = 1.000225 omitted a /1.4 that would been the penalty needed to have the BtH apply to Pets. Boosting a Guest does not have an additional penalty as Beastmaster build's -25% weapon damage is shifted over to the Guest, its affected by the same BtH amount as a Pure Warrior/Ranger/Mage in total.

Bu Kek Siansu -> RE: Spells - Read the first post! (1/2/2019 17:04:45)

Thanks, Ash.

Sorry I forgot something, just to be sure:

Do spells get the +16 BTH or halved of the boost which is about +8 BTH?

Thanks in advance.

Below, great, thanks LL for asking Kamui.

LUPUL LUNATIC -> RE: Spells - Read the first post! (1/2/2019 20:06:21)

I asked on discord and Kamui said is a global bth boost so it affects the same spells too (kinda makes sense).

Ianthe -> RE: Spells - Read the first post! (1/11/2019 14:57:30)

Frostval Giftbox spell: Spectral Chains. Kam says:

Quick-cast spell, only usable once per battle. Has the base damage of a normal spell (so any damage boosters will work on it same as they do a regular spell), but takes a -37.5% (75% Melee) penalty due to not taking a turn. MC effect mitigates 5% (10% Melee) of the penalty, so it's actually a -32.5% damage penalty. Nothing unusual otherwise.

poopbum -> RE: Spells - Read the first post! (1/26/2019 22:07:33)

What does Spectral Chains have to compensate for being usable only once per battle? The MC alone already seems kinda small in terms of melee %, compared to the MC value of what the frostval past weapons/shields got.

Legendary Ash -> RE: Spells - Read the first post! (1/26/2019 22:22:27)

The MC effect assumes 5% of a standard 200% melee spell instead of 5% of a quickcast 125% melee spell, that is worth 10% compared to 6.25%, which is 3.75% more on a single cast than supposed to if balanced on no restrictions on cast limit.

The single cast limit forces players to bring another spell of the same element, which would most likely involve compression worth 5% melee on an item in order to benefit from the 3.75% melee, the design is not worth it unless the compression is at least three item compression.

Skill Scrolls

Blazing Phoenix, Aqua Edge, Terra Crunch, Radiant Might, and Arctic/Gale/Electro/Umbral Impact for names.

One per element, each one is just raw damage, no funny stuff, they inflict Melee damage and cost 100% Melee in SP cost. They are all neutral in damage and accuracy lean, and each does 6 hits of damage. Basically completely standard stuff, MC effect is a simple +5% damage.

I'm assuming all of the new SPells use STR for damage calculation instead of INT? It seems like a given but I'd like to get official confirmation.

Seems to only last 1 turn, a bug?

Edit: @Zennistrad Oh, I see then. Never mind.

Zennistrad -> RE: Spells - Read the first post! (3/7/2019 17:10:52)

Nah, that's just how turns work. It gives two turns of the buff, which allows the buff to last through the turn as it ends, and then it has one turn left on the next turn.

If it gave only one turn, the buff would end immediately after the turn you cast it ended.

Can we get the info subs for Void Dragon Ambush, Void Dragon Assault, Void Dragon Blitz from the Void Dragon Queen challenge?

AliceShiki -> RE: Spells - Read the first post! (4/7/2019 21:21:47)

Got some info on the Skill Scrolls spells from discord. Apparently it came only from player testing though, so take it with a grain of salt until actual subs are released.

Many thanks to PD and Lord Markov for sharing this:
quote:

Sneak Strike: 1 turn, your attacks inflict poison with around 2x power, 3 turns of poison, stacks with itself.

Dragonslayer Aura: 2 turns of 25% extra damge on dragons and 15% on drakels and kin.

Fire Dragon Talon: 1 turn, your attacks are changed to fire element and you deal 50% extra damage.

Thunder Wave Blade: 1 turn, your attacks are changed to energy element and your have a chance to paralyze on attack for 1 turn.

Terror Fist: 1 turn, inflicts fear based on the amount of darkness damage you dealt. (Does not change your element)

I should note that fire dragon talon stacks with Bloodzerker

5970 tokens each, scale to your level
using one overrides the others and can't use them more than once a turn

Already existing subs on it back from '17.

http://forums2.battleon.com/f/fb.asp?m=22239416

I used the forums search function to find it ~afterlifex

Still no sign of it in the spell encyclopedia so perhaps it will be added some day - looks like a good alternate spell for fire/darkness compression - through now I'm a bit to far off topic so I'll leave it there.

Apparently the search function malfunctioned when I used it or I simply am not familiar enough to use it efficiently but regardless, thanks for providing a link.

Furious Trobble

MC Magic Energy spell. Has two possible effects:

8 hits. Starts at -24.75% damage, but gains +10% damage per previous hit from the spell that connects. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this right so:
  • First hit: -24.75% damage
  • Second hit: -24.75% damage, but if the first hit connected then it gains +10% damage for -14.75% damage total.
  • Third hit: -24.75% damage, possibly +10% if the first hit connected, and another +10% damage if the second hit connected, for up to -4.75% damage
    ...
  • Eighth hit: -24.75% damage, +10% per previous hit that connected, for up to +45.25% damage.

ALSO you can click on the spell during the first ~two seconds of casting time to split the big trobble into three little trobbles. Three hits, -60% damage, and it gives you BTH Boost (+17 BTH, 2*[hits] turns).

GGB item, so it scales. Here's some sample values:
    Level	5	15	35	55	75	95	115	135	150
