Legendary Ash -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (2/2/2020 20:01:23)

The effects are named differently, which makes it separate from Stonecrusher, therefore they will stack.
However when two players use the same class, the last player who applied the effect overwrites the previous player's effect in terms of damage like DoT/HoTs.
In AQ3d unlike AQW, players with the same class will apply their own separate instance of an effect, which stacks with itself.

So, SM/SMA/LSMA now what

Yami No Ronin

creepy gy -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (4/27/2020 13:51:12)

Is there full list of reasons why you might get disconnected by using abilities? (Right now I only know that you get disconnected if you kill yourself from life draining abilities, if you use skill right after you rank up(?) and iirc there was Leprechaun haste nerf because too much haste can get you disconnected too?)

Metakirby -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (4/27/2020 15:00:56)

There's basically 2 main reasons for disconnections related to skill usage:

Auto attack/Skill resets
These are when you use an auto attack or skill more than what you're allowed to mathematically do. This either happens when you:

a) Switch targets, since you can auto attack immediately if you do (ranged auto attackers are more susceptible)

b) Have a haste giving skill that is just barely loopable, and if you use that skill with the haste buff active, but the haste buff fades before the skill actually activates, then it counts as being used under no haste, and either immediately disconnects you, or if you use it again within a certain time frame (dependent on the skill cooldown) will cause you to disconnect. This is what Rogue ran into sometimes, due to having a 15 second haste effect on a 30 second cooldown and the reason it is now un-loopable, however Leprechaun can still loop it's dodge + haste buff because the effect is longer, but set to the same cooldown as Rogue's. It is theoretically possible to do this with any length of haste buff on any length of cooldown as long as it's loopable, but you would need to very intentionally try to do it, as well as it just being very inconsistent due to it being tied a little bit to your connection as well as the slight variation in effect lengths, which would make it almost impossible to properly predict, let alone do twice in a row.

c) Rank up, as you stated.

d) Switch rooms at the right time, right after, or during a skill use. This sometimes resets your skill cooldown if timed correctly, but it's not only inconsistent to pull off, but also is so specific that almost no one would run into this on accident, unless they room hop a ton with classes like LC or LR for example, and buff themselves during very specific, basically frame perfect moments.

SSG is a good example of a class that suffers heavily from this, because it has a ranged auto attack on a base 4 second cooldown, which means every time you switch targets you end up auto'ing again immediately (Melee AA classes almost never have this issue, unless all enemies are clumped up beside you), which for a 4 second base auto is not something you can do much before you get disconnected. There's also some hidden timer you have to obey, so for every second saved on a skill/auto attack use due to cooldown resets, you have to wait an equal, or larger amount of time before using it again to be safe.

Abyssal Angel and VL are examples of actually using auto attack resets to their benefit and getting away with it, because of their incredibly massive haste buffs, and also not having a 4 second base auto attack.

When you die from a damage source that is not an enemy
This could be anything from Binky using counterattack and you dying from it, to someone crit healing you while under the effect of Doomkitten's Curse of Blades, or some class' ability to harm themselves.
You will typically notice that the enemy will keep attacking until they have hit you, and if they do, it seems like there's a high probability that you will disconnect. Whether there's a specific time frame in which this his has to occur or if it's just completely random, I have no idea. Just try to avoid killing yourself, if possible.

Tyroniter -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (9/7/2020 4:04:28)

So, the new respawn times, pretty wild am I right?

you stop -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (9/19/2020 22:46:52)

Chaos slayer is now one hell of a farming class wheeeewww

NEOCROM -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (10/10/2020 0:58:32)

Guys, the new class, Dragon of Time, is it worth to work your way to get it? Compared to what class this gets closer to? Revenant? or VH?

Handalf -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (11/5/2020 20:18:04)

I tried for Dragon of Time. Then I find I have to do a few other quests along side of them in order to gain things I need to get other things. This is where you get duped into doing things where you should not have to do them at all, all it is.....is run arounds. No one likes run arounds.

Would say it's definitely worth it, one of the best classes overall, although it does fall behind LR in terms of farming, and VHL in terms of soloing, but it provides a very good option to help ease the grind for both of them imo, and definitely fun to play around with, so worth picking up, just make sure you have a good team with you and it can be a pretty fun grind as well.

dante1212 -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (11/16/2020 16:32:25)

Abyssal angel/Abissal Angels shadow did NOT need a nerf to the auto attack damage. Even with faster respawn times ,it can be outperformed in many areas by Legion revenant, blaze binder,etc. Hitting 900-1100 crits on an auto attack was what made it special for its ranged autos. It really didnt need a 25% reduction. Maybe 10%,but certainly not 25. I havent even used it for farming purposes since it was nerfed,and beforehand it was a goto class for that purpose and it saddens me. It wasn't a goto because it WAS best for the job, but only because it did a good job and it was fun to use. Please give the auto attacks a bit more damage. It's upsetting not using a class that i really enjoyed as well as others

HORRIOR -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (11/22/2020 4:42:01)

The new Star Captain class is fun, but I feel like the 3 house skills should do at least a BIT of damage.

The orbital strike is powerful, but it doesn't really make up for the fact that only your auto attack does damage.
Also I think some animations for the skills wouldn't go amiss.

bugsniffer -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (11/25/2020 9:58:54)

So... This new guardian class. How does it perform? Looks a bit complicated, which is GOOD.

Tyroniter -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (12/12/2020 7:26:06)

@dante1212

Post respawn, the older iteration of Abyssal Angel would've been too strong, to the point where it was overtaking LR in terms of efficiency apparently, which is why they had to tone it down. Maybe they did tone it down a bit, but the second changes that were put out did make up for it a fair bit, to the point where it was still one of the best farming classes in game, just a tier below LR and MoM. The real kicker to AAS was the auto escing changes that were implemented a few months back, and that tanked it's efficiency quite a bit, since it was what allowed it to maximize it's output in the first place. It's still a good class however imo, nowhere near as bad as you might be thinking honestly. Give it a try and see for yourself.

As far as the verification classes go, I don't own either of them so I can't help much on that regard, but going by what I've seen and heard, Star Captain is a very weirdly designed class, while it's performance is nothing to be scoffed at, the fact that you're essentially doing damage only through your auto for a large period of time and like 90% of your DPS being concentrated on the nuke, while being an extremely spammy class does not do it any favours.

Guardian on the other hand is probably the best one of the lot in terms of design and fun, although both Star Captain and Dragonlord are probably better in terms of efficiency, since they cover more widely used class roles. What Guardian excels at is group DPS, and it is pretty monstrous at it as well, almost like a mini Chrono in some ways. It's also thematically very in-tune with Classic AQ as well, which a lot of the players appreciated a lot.

battlesiege15 -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (12/19/2020 17:21:53)

Could someone help me decide what classes are best to get now? I haven't really played lately so I'm out of the loop.

A great solo class would be great, none of the ones I have now seem to help and now the level cap is like 1000000 and I'm just at level 65 which was the cap I think back then lol

Also, please no acronyms because I don't know what they all stand for these days :(

My current classes are:

Blaze Binder (Rank 10): Use it for farming, simple to use and not too bad
Chaos Slayer Cleric (Rank 10): I haven't touched this since coming back into the game because I forgot how to use it
Dragon Knight (Rank 10): Good for farming anything that doesn't hit too hard because of the lack of heal
Dragonslayer (Rank 10): I don't know why I have this?
LightCaster (Rank 5): I think this is ok but haven't really used much
Northlands Monk (Rank 1): I just got this so not sure. Looks like a support class but is it better than Stonecrusher?
Pyromancer (Rank 10): Solo for other bosses DK can't handle
StoneCrusher (Rank 5): Haven't used it much but I remember it was said to be pretty decent for parties

dante1212 -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (12/19/2020 20:46:54)

Oh no, not terrible. I just like seeing 1000s repetitively. Or 800s when goofing with spellbreaker enhancements. I mean it got some good pointers for the damage loss. Biggest favorite is the non removal of DoT damage when using fallens judgement(i think its called. The heal with quadruple hp buffs). It's nice to sustain extra damage. Just miss my 1k crits at lv 87

battlesiege15 -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (12/28/2020 11:21:24)

Thank you! I do have the updated Guardian. Any verdict on that? I think it's a Tier 2 class but not sure what that means haha

Tyroniter -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (5/25/2021 13:58:36)

whew Dark Lord was unexpected am I right fellas

Beshin Adin -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (5/25/2021 18:53:03)

wonder which occasion is next?

Veral77 -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (5/26/2021 10:55:25)

It pleases me that Shadowscythe General is more of a Paladin Slayer class than the actual Paladin Slayer class.

Zekrom158 -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (5/31/2021 3:45:16)

Is there a way to suggest a skill animation to the devs?

I loved the old animations of the Necromancer class but I recently found out they changed the animation of the 'Weaken' skill.

It used to look like the attack animations of the Evil Elemental monsters in tercessuinotlim.

I just wish they never changed it, would be great if they could revert back the old animations for that.

Veral77 -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (6/10/2021 18:58:24)

All this talk of dragon slayers and undead slayers, but is there a class (not just an item) that specializes in killing humans?

Tyroniter -> RE: =AQW= Class Discussion Thread (1/31/2022 23:36:13)

Quite an interesting past (and upcoming) few weeks in terms of class rebalancing innit, excited to see what comes next
