.Lord Ginger. -> Azrael's Punisher damage output with Blood Bullet (12/14/2019 17:18:41)

Today I was looking at the new promotional gun with the core Frozen Rift.

The buff of 10% made it have good damage against high HP builds, so I was like, wow this should be better than Azrael's Punisher.

But obviously, I am making this forum post.

I tested Blood Bullet verses Frozen Rift on a friend with 1500 hp and 296-330 resistance and I have 738-808 sidearm damage.

I tested 10 times with both guns (which may not represent the whole population but the numbers are quite different)

With Frozen Rift I should do (738-808) + 150 which is 888-958

If I average the resistance and my damage, I should get a rough damage average of 610.
When I compare this to my actual results, my actual results have a 5.6 damage decrease, which is reasonable because I didn't do many test.

With Azrael's Punisher, I should do (738-808)*1.15 which is 848.7-929.2, and an average of 888.95.

This average is a bit higher than the minimum of Frozen Rift, which makes sense because it's only 115% of sidearm damage.

If I subtract the average of his resistance and the gun, I get a rough damage average of 575.95.

When I test, the average I get is 645, which is just a *tad* bit higher, and the max with my testing was 683 which is 100 higher than the average.

Clearly, the Azrael's Punisher calculation isn't 115%, or it's 115% of something else that I am unaware of (but I don't know what it could be) without numbers being too off of the results that I found from my tests.

Final Result:

Azrael's Punisher does too much damage for the description.

i think Azrael's Punisher does 15% extra damage based on your gun's damage in the inventory screen (350) not the one in the stats page , same as how bludgeon type skills do it

.Lord Ginger. -> RE: Azrael's Punisher damage output with Blood Bullet (12/14/2019 18:25:13)

Tell me what your new math is for the damage and how that adds up to be the damage that I found when I tested the gun.

RaXZerGamingZ -> RE: Azrael's Punisher damage output with Blood Bullet (12/14/2019 18:28:39)

15% of 350, so your bonus damage is 52,5. ED rounds up always so 53 bonus damage

.Lord Ginger. -> RE: Azrael's Punisher damage output with Blood Bullet (12/14/2019 18:29:13)

How does the math on that add up to my numbers?

RaXZerGamingZ -> RE: Azrael's Punisher damage output with Blood Bullet (12/14/2019 23:10:30)

idk, i just noticed you took the 15% of total gun damage and was pointing out how the game usually doesnt do it like that, that's all

.Lord Ginger. -> RE: Azrael's Punisher damage output with Blood Bullet (12/15/2019 1:47:42)

That was the closest calculation I could do find since the 1.15*350 was no where near close to the correct value (because adding 50 would be totally terrible and this gun wouldn't have been nerfed twice if this was how the calculation as made).

I don't know what numbers they used for this calculation, but it's insane.

If you also check the Infinity Titan gear, it says that it does 120%, which is 5% more than the Azrael's Punisher. Guess which one does more damage? (Not the Infinity Titan one)

RaXZerGamingZ -> RE: Azrael's Punisher damage output with Blood Bullet (12/15/2019 11:03:38)

Thing is that Azrael's Punisher core is typically used by Blood Mages who already have Deadly Aim, when i use it as other classes the damage isn't that high except when on rage

NDB -> RE: Azrael's Punisher damage output with Blood Bullet (12/15/2019 14:57:36)

@RaXZerGamingZ
Blood Bullet should be 15% off the whole thing, including the bonus from Deadly Aim. You are right that in most cases, % effects are based off of the weapon damage. But in this case, it explicitly states "sidearm damage", which would refer to the whole thing. Similarly, Infinity Titan's description is "strike damage" and the new Frozen Fist primary core states "primary damage"; both these cores are all based off the whole thing. In the case that it is based off weapon damage, the description usually doesn't specify anything (it'll just be "% more damage"), or in the case of Static Charge, it will in fact state "weapon damage". Yeah, the consistency in the wording of descriptions in this game absolutely is atrocious, but still.

After testing Blood Bullet myself, my conclusion is that it's bugged to still do 25% despite the description being changed to 15% after the supposed nerf.

RaXZerGamingZ -> RE: Azrael's Punisher damage output with Blood Bullet (12/16/2019 7:15:00)

I've been hit 500-600 damage by it non-rage so it wouldn't surprise me

dfo99 -> RE: Azrael's Punisher damage output with Blood Bullet (12/16/2019 16:52:00)

have posted about it months ago like 3 times and get utterly ignored... it seems absolutely intentional since also the infinity power strike also inflicted more than 30% dmg after the release and get nerfed for real or around 20%

TankMage -> RE: Azrael's Punisher damage output with Blood Bullet (12/16/2019 19:31:48)

Hey guys thanks for the report on this, at work at the moment but will check it out as soon as I'm home.

dfo99 -> RE: Azrael's Punisher damage output with Blood Bullet (12/21/2019 7:21:59)

hey tank, so, what is you conclusion?

dfo99 -> RE: Azrael's Punisher damage output with Blood Bullet (12/22/2019 10:28:48)

i believe it would be better to just show that blood bullet deals 25% and buff frozen rift to something like 20% but since it seems to use same coding from bazzoka version, it would need a way to maintain improbably gate at 10%

.Lord Ginger. -> RE: Azrael's Punisher damage output with Blood Bullet (12/26/2019 17:10:12)

Still waiting for a response on this

TankMage -> RE: Azrael's Punisher damage output with Blood Bullet (12/27/2019 19:37:08)

Hey guys sorry for not replying straight away. I did jump on to test after I posted and as you can see from today's update we have fixed it up this issue. I'll keep this thread open for a couple days in-case another issue arises. Thanks for the report!
