gimek -> Returning after over a year (12/19/2020 18:20:34)

I havent played in well over a year and would like to get back into it. I like the beastwarrior style but I would like some help on what needs to be updated.

Primate Murder -> RE: Returning after over a year (12/20/2020 3:51:48)

Welcome back!

First of all, I should mention that the stat cap has been raised to 250. That means that an optimized beastwarrior would be best served by 250 Str/Dex/Cha build.

Weapons

Most bosses these days have Boss Boost or Freedom effects, leaving them highly resistant or outright immune to Fear effects. Since Terror Eater seems to be overkill for generic mooks, I suggest switching your no-drop element to darkness. Most FO builds also tend to align their Awe special to PWD.

Pzycho Sabre compresses a fire guest, leaving you a free spell slot for utility, and its skill has great synergy with Beast Form or Bloodzerker toggles.

Pike Pike remains a great water weapon for FO beatwarriors.

Haunted Dragonlord's Might or Charge restore sp based on the number of hits you land - which goes nicely with Beast Form's 4-hit attack. Very nice weapon for maintaining both Beast Form and guest upkeep.

MagnaBlade is one of the few remaining weapons that still deal +25% damage.

Gloom Glaive toggles between earth and harm damage.

Decorate the Tree Frostval quest still has last year's weapons - Thundersplitter/Lord of Thunder's Spear. They toggle between 2 modes: one inflicts Burn for an hp cost, the other autohits. Great utility weapons.

Zealot's Wrath effectively looses its MC when used on a 0-Luck build. Lumenomancer's Bloodblade would be a direct upgrade.

Armors

After completing the Advanced subrace quest, you should have a 9th slot no-drop Werewolf Transformation. It remains one of the best earth armors in the game and has great synergy with Haunted Dragonlord weapons.

Bloodzerker armors are the strongest options for fire, water and energy. They deal +20% damage for an hp cost and have a toggle that doubles your weapon damage (and locks it to armor element). If you don't have 3 spare URs, your Taladosian, Moglord Tortress and either Torontosaurus (great with Haunted DL weapons) or War armors can take their place.

Haunted Dragonlord Armor has the best (non-premium) wind skill, which should synergize nicely with Fu Dog and Sugar Gobbler.

Even with the CIT nerf, Horo Show still has the strogest ice skill available to warriors.

This year gave us the first fully updated endgame class in Paladin. It has 20 (20!) skills, including Inner Light nuke (almost as powerful as WKZ), Manifestation guest (toggles between 2x damage and boosting your light damage), a chargable ressurection and a wide variety of anti-undead passives. Avenger variant is best suited for warriors.

Angel of Souls has a weapon-based darkness skill that costs hp.

Shields

Avenger's Bulwark charges up a free EleShield. The shield's element is fire if your knight alignment is to Demons.

The revamped Kindred shield slowly gathers charges for a qc sp heal. Situational, but can be useful.

There are 2 nice wind shields. Fujin has a Dex drive, increasing the accuracy of all your weapon/skill/pet/guest attacks. Haunted Dragonlord's Will gives you a qc sp-costing Barrier. With proper Purple Rain usage, you can basically become immortal.

Pies is the best choice for beastmasters and CIT, despite being nerfed, is still the best earth shield for warriors.

Umazen Aspis has paralysis potency, which goes really nicely with Fruitcake Zard guest and Mutant Egg pet.

Scarab Shell has a toggle to lower monster MRM, boosting the accuracy of all your weapon/pet/guest attacks.

Spells

As a beastmaster, you'll want to fill most of your spell slots with guest summons - though Pzycho Sabre leaves you some space for Purple Rain.

- Fruitcake Zard toggles to inflict Paralysis. Great synergy with Umazen shield and Frostgale's Remorse misc.

- Dekanor has *1.5 upkeep and *1.5 damage.

- Nezujimbo. Freeze toggle - great synergy with any fire nuke, Frost Effigy pet and Frostgale's Remorse misc.

- Sugar Gobbler has a petrification toggle. Great synergy with Fu Dog pet and Haunted DL armor.

- Mogdin. Best paralysis guest in the game.

- Grimlord of Nulgath. 2x damage for an hp upkeep.

- As the only harm guest in the game costs mp, the best alternative is Essence of Carnage. In Rampant mode, it boosts your melee and ranged damage (based on your Cha) and gives you Backlash status.

Pets

Underwyrmling is the only pet in the game that can harm monster sp.

Mutant Egg pet (water, wind and energy elements) toggles between paralysis and giving you damage reduction.

Frost Effigy has a toggle to Freeze the monster and a Freeze potency, giving it great synergy with Nezujimbo.

Fu Dog has a petrification toggle and petrification potency, giving it nice synergy with Sugar Gobbler.

Fairy Godmother gives you a healing pet - useful in a pinch.

Model 294 toggles to inflict EleVuln, increasing the damage of your Angel of Souls skill and Grimlord guest.

Miscs

Essence Orb remains essential for any meta build, and SFP's celerity pairs nicely with Purple Rain.

Love Potion, like SFP, has a stacking qc skill (control) that works wonders with Purple Rain.

Goggernaut Helm gives +10 bth to every attack on the field. This includes your pet and guest and doesn't have the usual /2 for spell-type skills (like Inner Light, War's Carnage or Haunted DL).

There are so many damage miscs, that I'm rather torn on which one to suggest. Hollow Dragon Amulet gives Str, Dex, Cha and bth. Murderator Gauntlet gives Str, a bit of Cha and a chance to Control the monster. Things like Minotaur's Pride and Spear Master Emblem give a more direct damage bonus.

Frostgale's Remorse toggles between wind damage + paralysis potence and ice damage + freeze potence.

Morningstar Helm gives immunity to paralysis.

Bell Shell heals hp based on damage dealt. The heal is less than CoRS', but it also doesn't reduce your damage, making it overall better for FO builds.

Hope the info's useful and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!
