Is your character the one you have linked? It may be helpful to get something like Torontosaurus with its 8-hit nuke. You can almost completely ignore the damage cap with nukes that are split into that many hits. Celerity from Shadowfeeder Pendant will let you nuke without worrying about Torontosaurus' lacking light defenses. Pets and guests also help with damage caps.

As a side note, is there any reason you're not a Guardian? You seem to have bought a custom title, which would imply you're not against spending money on AQ, and Guardianship is the most worthwhile and important purchase.

Xander_Raze -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/9/2021 7:13:57)

It is the linked character and I'll give that a try.

As for the Guardian situation, well... I've had this character for so many years that it feels weird to switch him to a Guardian now and have to work my way up the levels again.
Not to mention all the gear I have that becomes moot if given access to Guardian equipment

Lorekeeper -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/9/2021 8:34:39)

The armor reward's attacks had their bug fixed, via IMR!

RobynJoanne -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/9/2021 9:29:31)

@Xander_Raze
I do understand the reluctance towards leveling again. However, leveling is much easier now than ever before, so it really shouldn't take you much time at all.

I think you overestimate how big of a change you'll make with Guardian. You will need to re-quest for the many MC set items you use, but there aren't that many Guardian-only items in AQ. Any changes you could make are changes you could make as an Adventurer. Guardian only makes them possibly more appealing. Essence Orb alone will change the way you'll play the game substantially.

Mr. Roguish -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/9/2021 10:03:20)

@Cray

Closed and reloaded game and launcher. Still experiencing same issue.

Digital X -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/9/2021 10:09:56)

Have you cleared the launcher cache?

Mr. Roguish -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/9/2021 20:54:34)

@Digital X
I have, I will try again. I'm currently out of town so it'll take me a couple days. I will let you know when if I am still having the same issue

Noone -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/10/2021 14:55:39)

@Cray I didn't quite know where to put this but here is close enough I guess. For this boss I went and got the Lust pet from the crossover giftboxes because I love all the DF style models as they remind me of old AQ, and the heal on the boss was a good excuse. But I went and read the infosub HERE and at the top of the page you mentioned that the heal suppression was supposed to affect passive MP and SP regen too. But testing it out on some RA mobs, that doesn't seem to be the case (at least for SP, didn't bother going to find a caster).

Given that this pet cost a ultra rare gift box, I was wondering if you could clear up what the case was with this. Changed, bug, game background mechanics changed, etc. Hoping maybe it's a bug? :^)

Ianthe -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/11/2021 2:27:43)

Noone, I just playtested Lust and it's working? I went up against Trophon and when it failed its save, it only regenned half as much SP. (Table shows if it succeeded on its save and its SP at turn start)
Save?	SP
n/a	265
NO	308
NO	351
NO	394
NO	SKILL 31
NO	56
YES	141
YES	226
NO	269
Like I'm willing to look into it more once I'm no longer procrastinating about heading to bed, but I'll need more details.

RobynJoanne -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/11/2021 4:24:54)

@Noone
Lust worked for me too. When her effect procs, it'll say that "Your pet lures your foe. +50% Heal Resistance!" If it doesn't work, it'll say "Your foe resists the allure of your pet." She does have two modes, and she attacks in her heal suppression mode, so maybe you were using her in the wrong mode.

I tried it against multiple RA monsters and Shadowscythe Virophage on Challenge Mode.

Noone -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/11/2021 11:09:37)

@IMR I went and tried again today and I recorded a short 2 minute example which I have linked HERE. In the video, you can see at first it works and the SP goes up by 50s, but in the second half it doesn't and goes up by 100s (even when the on-attack tooltip says the mob is ensnared). One thing I didn't do because I wanted to keep the vid short is sometimes when you hover over her head the tooltip (not the on-attack one) displays +false% or +failure or something like that instead of +50%. Note I do briefly swap to the crit mode to display the normal SP regen, but immediately swap back. Apologies if it's something really stupid that I just haven't seen.

I'm not sure exactly *why* but well the evidence is there I think. I could play around and map out all the scenarios but it's all just conjecture without the code so instead I'll leave this in your capable hands with the example above.:)

Mr. Roguish -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/11/2021 23:34:08)

@Digital X
Tried again after clearing cache and reseting browser and clearing cache again, I am just now hitting above 200 somewhat consistently. But never over 300, even on a lucky.

Not sure but I'm kinda getting the feeling. Was this armor supposed to have extremely weak normal attack? Even still, chaos orb doesn't seem to increase it's damage even pushing up to 20. But damage recieved is definitely going up.

Ianthe -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/12/2021 12:37:48)

Noone: found the bug, rolled a fix. Thanks for the details!

Noone -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/12/2021 20:14:48)

[:D] Np IMR thanks for the fix!

sunblaze -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/17/2021 13:12:44)

Could someone please explain me the last phase?

What the heck happenes and how to defeat it?

Should I switch weapons every round including pets? that phase seems to highly disfavour many hits builds like beastmaster. [8D]

LoreQuester -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/18/2021 23:03:49)

@sunblaze you can see the previous page for the last boss's phase

If you want to cheese it, however, there is a very easy way: the boss only increases its regen every time it uses the special attack. In other word, if you can keep its sp in the low, it won't even be able to start its regeneration. Simply cast Burning Question (an sp burn) then strengthen it with Sunburst Amulet afterwards and smack it in the head 'til it drops

If you are not a beast master, you can also equip the Snuggle Hearts shield for that 20 burn potence. Since the misc already provides another 20 burn potence, this is usually enough for non beast master to successfully win the roll

Guardswordian -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/22/2021 10:29:19)

@sunblaze I'd suggest cheesing it the way Lorequester described. I tried and fought my best without SP burn many times, but they all ended up in failures. I even used the purple rain, essence orb, shadowfeeder pendant combo and rearranged my gear so I have the dodge spell Imanok Edoc and used it whenever the boss used his skill. I seemed to do well, I turned him undead by calling Zorbak, and I got him low by using kindred skill and bloodzerker armor skill with different weapons on my celerity turns (dealt around 700~1100 damage per turn), and switched to the paladin armor to tank hits, and used my strawberry shieldcake for celerity as well. Once my celerity finished, I was in the paladin armor throughout, using the lvl20 skill whenever available, with paladin apprentice in defense mode. I got him below 3000hp, but it was ultimately a failure. I was still holding up well against the skill, having survived 4 of them by using the dodge skill by using essence orb if I had to. I had well over 3/4 of my hp, so I thought I was going to win. But at that point, I realized that the damage I was dealing was now surpassed by the regen it had. No amount of potions or damage could overturn it. I mean, the boss was healing around 400hp per turn by the time I gave up and stopped struggling and let my character die.

Then I decided to get my Underwrymling and I didn't even have to switch weapons. It ended all too easily.

Red Blood -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/23/2021 3:37:47)

The last phase nearly had me there without my massive hp and bleeding nearly all of it into the soul stone Phase 5 would have had sent me packing. My Samukematsuri stuff might not have been the best burn pot item I could have had to power my Soul burn, but a good alternative weapon I would have tried is the Chrono Dagger if I failed. Given I could swap it to sp damage to drain sp along with my wyrmling I think it would have been easy to keep the boss from launching it's Sp attack without Burning Question's more status gamble effect. Granted not everyone likely has it laying around or the later Fire Reissue but couldn't hurt to give it a try if anyone else has it.

ruleandrew -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/23/2021 19:13:57)

The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit
I am at a loss on what to do for boss phase IV (normal).

I could try to add extra offensive from my beast master build (using 1 to 3 hits attack), however you get less turns to kill that boss.

You need very specific gear to win boss phase IV. The first 3 phases was not too tough on my beast master build.

RobynJoanne -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/23/2021 19:16:57)

Underwyrmling negates Phase IV. A beastmaster should have no trouble with Phase IV.

Red Blood -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/23/2021 19:33:19)

Did you try Burning Question on top of Wyrmling? For the last phase you need to keep it from ever launching the special attack so if the Wyrming doesn't manage to do it on it's own I'd suggest getting that spell to try getting a bit more sp damage. Alternatively if you have a Chrono dagger from the irl merch it could also solve your issue shaving off sp with just basic weapon attacks. In fact just pulled mine out to test and on my warrior on a quick random battle test it was shaving off around 120 sp from a mob so for me it would have been more effective than using the Wyrmling to manage the sp.

PD -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/23/2021 22:26:01)

Underwyrmingly, while very good, I think may be a little too inaccessible for the average player. There's another weapon out there that does do the same thing: Katar of Earth. It may be worth a try to use this and see how that goes. Theoretically it should work even better than underwyrming since it scales proportionately with the damage you do, or approximately x0.10125 of your damage dealt.

RobynJoanne -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/23/2021 22:42:02)

@PD
Shadowscythe Virophage has Soft Damage Caps. I'd hesitate to say proportionate SP damage is good in this case.

PD -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/23/2021 22:49:01)

Ah, that is true. I did not think of that. Still, with a good multi-hit armor I think you should be able to get around the soft cap? Even if you deal around 200 damage a hit, with a standard 2-htt armor you'd kill 40 SP a turn, which while not negating the whole SP regen, would slow it down considerably.

Come to think about it, Ultimon would probably be really good here, although that quest is debateably even harder than this one. And there's the Beast forms of Werewolf and Vamp which are 4-hit and would probably pair well with Katar of Earth. If you have it, Samukematsuri Samurai's skill attack would probably also work well here because it resists well against dark and light, while its skill has many hits to get around the soft caps.

Red Blood -> RE: =AQ= The War Between Shadows Finale - I Name You Deceit (10/23/2021 23:05:33)

Given that the creature is made to fight and kill other Shadow creatures I'd assume the boss has the thing where they just ignore you wearing the shadow based armor in the first place. If nothing else those dragons certainly had it. I used the Samukematsuri Samurai armor instead for that reason and it does have solid resists along with the special attack dump/ extra burn.

*Edit*

So a quick test on the normal version has the boss not have an anti shadow effect like I assumed it would have so all the shadow based armors seem to be fair game if the challenge version also lacks the effect.
