Book 3: The Awakened Depths: Through the Tangle

Hey there, heroes!

This week, we return to Dragesvard, where the DragonLord camp is under attack from an onslaught of Hollow fungal foes!

[image]https://cms.battleon.com/DF/images/TANGLEdn.png[/image]

With the DragonLord plan crushed, there's only one path left for the Greenguard Alliance. It's time to go under the ice, to the source of the Hollow, and find some way to stop it once and for all!

But what twisted horrors lie in wait below?

Head over to Book 3 Dragesvard to continue Book 3's main story: Through the Tangle!

Also this week, Sir Baumbard in Bk3 Dragonsgrasp has had some of his dialogue regarding DragonLords, and non-intervention, adjusted to be more clear.

Well, all that Exaltia and Zeclem dojo-ing is starting to pay off.
spoiler:

The HP bars of the foes are intimidating at first, just make sure you clear every single room and you'll have the minimum resources to clear this slog. Just watch out for that boss, although its damage is not too lethal. Haven't dealt with non-titan winnables in story quests that has that much HP (unless you're a Baron Dante who's been Doom Moding the game), aside from probably Cryohem (dunno how high its original HP was prior to all the nerfage it got. Had around half this boss' HP when I fought it) or Amalgam EX and Meltface Akriloth if you're feeling daredevil.

Worth the wait!

spoiler:

This quest has some great establishing moments for secondary characters. Kord reminds us of the slayers in dragonslayers, that not all are content with the new direction Galanoth is taking them - and he does so without sounding xenophobic or fanatical.

Lestrade has two notable moments. One is when he pushes Kord out of the spike's way even at the expense of personal injury. A quiet moment of bravery and self-sacrifice that remains uncommented on but not unnoticed.

The second is when his companions suggested going down into the mycelium. It's not something we normally remark on, something we've grown used to, but actually thinking on it... Compounding risk with risk, taking a leap into the dark, casually believing yourself capable of taking anything the world throws at you - it's absolutely crazy! No general, no career soldier would do something insane like that, which makes the contrast all the more jarring. It's easy to forget sometimes that our hero is just that, a hero, and massive kudos to the staff for managing to write that juxtaposition so well.

Oh, and the way the music suddenly changes when you start the dragon fight caught me off guard in a good way. Nice work there.
