Lv 1000 -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/26/2022 14:18:33)

Nice.

PD -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/26/2022 15:40:04)

Oh wow, I didn't even see the Wartorn Dragon Rider 50k Package in the middle. Usually on the homepage it's right under the headliner but in the newsletter it's buried nearer the bottom. It looks awesome and we just had an awesome Rider set in the PaleSkull Champion. I might seriously consider getting the Wartorn set because Fire Offensive armors tend to sacrifice bloodcost for HP and I personally wish that there were "safer" avenues for Fire Offense. I like using Headless Horseman and the Samukematsuri but I have been using those for years. Bloodzerker and Solar Crest are awesome but they feel a little impractical for real questing sometimes. I'm also hoping that said Warmaster Dragon isn't only the armor for the package. At 50k that's right up there with the Champion Sets which are usually 3 pieces. Hoping there are other pieces to go along with it or that the armor has a few nice things up its sleeve.

Speaking of bad placement, it should be noted as in the newsletter that this is the final week to get the Umbral Walker Set at the discounted 20k price. Also the Zombie Hunter Set is also returning this week!

Macho Man -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/26/2022 16:05:36)

Pretty excited for more Entropy!

Sphinx Jevoha -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/27/2022 0:28:17)

Hello!

That upcoming War-Torn Dragon Rider armor looks really awesome!

I hope it will not be a Fully-Offensive armor because we have far, far too many of them, especially Fire armors which is the mostly likely element for this armor.

Fully-Offensive Fire Armors:

* Hexbound Solar Core
* Pyromancer Bloodmage
* Blazing Bloodzerker
* Dark Invader
* Torontosaurus Rex Rider
* War's Legacy/War Ascendant
* Headless Horseman
* Reign Overlord
* Samukematsuri Samurai
* Spirit Protector
* Cleric of Carnafex
* Akriloth's Wrath
* Tinkerer Armor
* Scythe of Rastille Armor
* Champion of Akriloth
* Sunscale Armor
* Doomlight Emberheart Armor
* Dragon Knight Hide Set
* Warlord Ares Set

Fully-Defensive Fire Armors:

* Jolly Bard of War
* Matchmaker
* Wicked King's Plate
* Quester's Heavy Dragon Gunner

There are literally more than 5x FO Fire armors as compared to FD Fire armors. If the War-Torn Dragon Rider armor is also going to be FO, it will join the list of those armors that will hardly ever see the light of day.

Furthermore, thematically and Lore-wise, the War-Torn Dragon has always been described as being "Heavily Armored" and "Heavily infused with Metal". Both of these make it very suitable for a Fully-Defensive setup.

Therefore, I request the staff to consider making the Warmaster Dragon Rider as a Fully-Defensive Armor (FD), as it would meet both functional and thematic requirements. The element is less important.

Also, I do agree with what PD has said regarding the pricing of the package. At $100, most sets come with armor + weapon + shield, if not with titles and faces as well. Since the promotional artwork does not show any weapons or shields, it might include only the armor. In that case, it would be great if the armor had 3 skills (similar to War's Legacy and the Frostwyrm Riding Armor).

Good day!

Sapphire -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/27/2022 7:22:53)

Hopefully it can be unique considering the massive amount of fire armors currently, and it does seem like it needs an entire set for $100.

But if it does go FD, it would need to be an off-the-charts fantastic set for $100 at FD. Has there ever been a FD $100 set at all, much less fire element? I can just see a FD set being a $100 package as being an underwhelming set unless they really put together something that may very well end up a bit ...dare I say..OP? I'm trying to imagine what type of abilities would need to be present on a FD set in order to make a large group of players want to spend $100 on it. I'm unsure. And that's why I think it will be FO.

This does lend itself to a greater conversation, though. What you essentially describe here is as time goes on, with only 8 elements and essentially 2 utilized leans form 98% of the games content, at some point all the elements will begin to experience what fire may be experiencing with FO armors. Staff's going to need to, at some point down the road, need to explore other ideas such as implementing different leans, using more spellcaster leans, revisiting a BM lean, as well as adding passives to armors (This is already happening) to start to separate each new armor out from the others in order to continue to garner interest in new content.

Now in having said that, for $100 if a FD lean is offered, it would need to be on a OP level as doomlights for me to *ever* generate any interest from myself, so I tend to think going in a different direction and making it something new and different might be better considering the price tag and considering the crowded room for fire FO.

I'm not against FD, but if they don't make it crazy powerful it will turn out to be a dud, at least I fear it may.

Sphinx Jevoha -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/27/2022 9:06:16)

Yes, this armor would actually need to be OP (especially if it's Fire element), and if it's only an armor for $100.

I can think of 2 armors that are generally considered OP: a) The Doomlight armor series b) The Galin's Devourer armor.

Both are far stronger than their peers, and this could be the Fully-Defensive (FD) version.

There is one single Skill that the armor could have, which would instantly make it worth $100 as an armor-only FD package:

Forced Conversion to Fire.

Basically a clone of the Zombie Hunter/Golden Set/Paladin Armor, where the Skill changes the enemy's attacks to Fire element, and this armor being of Fire resistance.

Since the theme is "War-Torn", I would suggest 3 Skills for the armor:

* the 1st Skill could be named something like "Flaming Corruption," "Chaos of War" or "Searing Rupture", and it could be a 392 SP Skill that forces the enemy to use only Fire element attacks (subject to a save, of course). This Skill needn't do any damage, but makes the monster take a -20 save penalty.

And the 2nd Skill could be a pure damage, overcharged Skill that costs north of 600 SP to deal double damage. Perhaps name it "Molten Blast" or "Molten Pulse".

And the 3rd Skill could be a 392 SP Skill that is defensive in nature, such as a 3-turn HP Regeneration status that heals more the lower your HP is. Perhaps name it "Burning Resolve" or "Last Stand".

Now imagine something like the above, that would be an awesome FD Fire armor worthy of $100, even if it had only an armor and nothing else!

Bu Kek Siansu -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/27/2022 9:47:16)

If at least it could be swapped between FO and FD for ONCE per battle or for some SPCost? [:)]

Korriban Gaming -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/27/2022 10:01:38)

+1 for an FD armor since we have so many good FO Fire armors already.

The spikes on the dragon gives me a backlash sorta feel but we already have Doomlight Emberheart. I do agree that the armor needs to be very good to sell considering it's a $100 package. The 3 skills idea sounds good but more variety usually means lesser power. Do we want variety or power here? Personally I would be fine with both as long as they're usable.

Personally I don't think this would make it worth $100 since Zombie Hunter got nerfed but to each his own. Definitely a unique skill to have though

If we're having a defensive armor I would rather go for an efficient skill instead or maybe an eleshield like geocastellum

Cool idea. An alternative I have in mind is a HP, MP and SP burn skill combined into one that grows in power the longer the fight is. This will have very good synergy with the 1st skill you suggested and is also reminiscent of the fight with the war torn dragon

Heroes of the Scape -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/27/2022 10:36:55)

Dragon Knight Hide Set

Dragon Knight is MD lean, not FO. The FSB makes it FO and that restricts you to the sets weapon and shield. I don't think that should count in this case.

There are also the following FD Fire armors:

*Fire Neceomancer Cavalry
*Blazing Reflecting Plate
*Pyro Tank Knight
*Scathing Dream Weaver
*Blazing Charming Swashbuckler

The Hollow -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/27/2022 16:03:11)

Sorry folks, there was typo on the Warmaster Dragon Rider package. It will be a 20K package, not 50K. The Zombie Hunter Package has returned!

Lv 1000 -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/27/2022 16:54:37)

That makes more sense, thank you for the clarification.

J9408 -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/27/2022 19:11:50)

I wonder if this should be part of another thread.

A 50K token Package, Fully Defensive Set is interesting. I really wonder what that would look like.

Sphinx Jevoha -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/27/2022 21:01:55)

@The Hollow Even if the Warmaster Dragon Rider is going to be a 20k Z-Token Package and not a 50k one, I hope it would include some of the suggestions made by the players here. It certainly looks aesthetically pleasing, and the right set of Armor Skills on it would do wonders!

Doubt it. It's probably just gonna be a clone of griffin rider/dragonrider.

PD -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/28/2022 17:47:09)

Funny enough, Griffin/Grave Riders need a slight tune-up because Ele-Toggles are now considered free effects. Currently those two consider Ele-Toggles to be an MC effect but they should be updated so that it reflects that. Maybe to make it easy on the staff they could just update it so that the MC bonuses are something relatively simple (+5% Dmg, +4.25 BTH). Otherwise there *could* be an opportunity to do something extraneous besides a simple passive effect. I think it's a feasible idea that Griffin/Grave Riders could be updated to be elemental clones of War-Torn, whatever that may be like. Maybe as a dream scenario War-Torn could even get a 1.90x Elecomp like Paleskull did and Griffin/Grave Riders (1.83x) will also get their EleComps bump'd up to that level too. Only hoping though.

Lv 1000 -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/28/2022 20:17:31)

Yeah, Griffin/Grave rider need proper MC effects.

Sphinx Jevoha -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/28/2022 20:54:08)

A mere clone of Gryphon Rider would be very sad, it would be a missed potential to maximize on the aesthetic and Lore-based strengths of the War-Torn Dragon.

Korriban Gaming -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/29/2022 1:17:05)

+1 for buffing the rider package armors

I seriously hope the new package is not a fire clone of those armors

Sphinx Jevoha -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/29/2022 13:16:04)

Will the Warmaster Dragon Rider package be released today? If it's tomorrow, any spoilers?

Kaizoku -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/29/2022 14:28:48)

The new platinum dragon pet is awesome! Very welcome present and not even stuck behind a daily login event.

The Hollow -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/29/2022 15:00:18)

There is a slight delay with the release today while we're wrapping up testing.

Sapphire -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/29/2022 16:06:03)

So when you freeze or petrify or hypersalinate or whatever, the monsters element literally turns into a max of 200%.

This means that if you (as an example) Hypersalinate a monster, and let's say it's water resistance ends up 200%. If you follow that up with a status that grows in power based on water resistance, as ancestral forbiddance does for example, it will inflict at a clip assuming the *new* increased elemental resistance. Typically, an effect doubles in power when elemental resistance goes from 100% to 200%, like with ancestral forbiddance.

I have tested this over and over and over, and all freeze-like effects work like this.

This new wind-swept (or earth freeze) does *not* work as mentioned above. The effect will only be as powerful as the element that's listed. Is this a new feature? Is something missing on the new earth freeze?

PD -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/29/2022 17:08:22)

Platinum for an anniversary? I may even hope that we'll get a modern version of Platinum Edge. While no picture exists of it anymore I remember it being one of the most stylish weapons in the game.

Red Blood -> RE: =AQ= Entropy II (9/29/2022 17:10:40)

I happen to have a copy of that item if you'd like some fresh pictures of it.
