X Sera X -> Returning Player - Character Advice (12/28/2022 5:10:03)

Character Link : https://aq.battleon.com/game/flash/charview?temp=83589294 also under avvy
Level & Status : L150 XGuard
Build : Werepyre Hybrid: STR/INT/LUK 250
Armor of Awe/UltraGuardian Element (If Applicable): Neutral
Level(s) of Items with Multiple Versions : Assume max level
Z-Tokens (If Applicable): 7157

Notes : Just returned to the game and have been trying to sort out inv and build given the changes that have occured with stats etc.
Just looking for gear suggestions to help optimize further - also not sure if werepyre hybrid still wants to use magic weapons over melee after changes or if there is a better hybrid build these days.
Not against package items per se but would prefer not to throw too much into it [;)]

Many thanks.

Welcome back!

The difference between Magic and Melee weapons is fairly minimal. According to this update, anything that doubles stat damage makes all boosters give the same bonus, which means Poe and Dunamis should give the same boost for melee/magic skills. Of course, stuff like Bloodzerker swords still gives magic an extra ~5% in werepyre armors, so keep that in mind.

Weapons

Wind may be a good no-drop element.

Bloodblades and Bloodzerker Blades are is still the top option for damage.

Merry Blade of Frostval Past goes exceptionally well with any ice nuke.

Thunder Lord's Staff inflicts Burn for an hp cost and toggles to autohit.

Lion's Roar is a wand, but its 37.5% damage bonus to light spells (against undead) gives it great synergy with Paladin's Inner Light skill.

Voidsplinter Sunderer gives you Harm damage.

Armors

Paladin's Inner Light should deal about as much damage as White Knight Z's nuke, and Avenger variants pays hp instead of additional sp for Overwhelming Light. It also comes with a long list of side benefits, such as stat toggles, effect toggles, healing, ressurection, and more.

Generalist's Robe (with Imbue Lore toggled on) can turn gandolphin into a pretty powerful shield.

Shields

It's hard to argue with Shieldcakes, and Frostval Past is still pretty useful in the present.

Chieftain's Ironthorn gives you a Str drive.

Mystic Father Time gives you 1/battle rewind button.

Cerberus Ward compresses fire/dark.

Troposhield is the closest thing we have to a pre-update CIT. Its defenses are subpar, but the EleVuln infliction gives you a whooping 42% extra damage, if only for three elements.

Spells

Gandoplhin, with Generalist's Robe and Order misc can turn you into a pretty tanky build - and potent mp regen options are easier to find than hp ones.

Pets

Fae Wanderer might warrant an active slot. Werepyre's qc Panic (paired with Order misc for potency) has great synergy with this pet.

Spotter Drake gives Status Potency.

There's a niche strat that uses Werepyre's lvl 1 skill to stack a cheap and powerful Bleed. If you want to try it out, Scarab's Bleed Potency would be of great help.

Miscs

In place of Warlic's Sphere, Shikyo Mask and Mana Trap, I would suggest the following:

Either Pixel Ether or Rejuvenating Necklace for mp regen.

Helm of Frostval Past or Goggernaut Helm for accuracy.

Order of Terror and Horror for Panic potency and increased healing.

Hope the info's useful and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

Thanks for all the detail.

Quick Q - Where do you get the Order of Terror and Horror misc? - had a bit of a search and couldn't see the location.
