Lorekeeper -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/24/2023 13:42:32)

I've been so hyped for this story release to hit your screens! This is the part where things get SPICY!

Edit: Also, this week's release is a war!

PD -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/24/2023 14:41:16)

Once again petitioning: I almost never participate in wars besides estate waves, because the war rewards don't have a way to be acquired again if you sell them. Inventory space can't increase forever and it's a little irksome when you can't make space without selling unobtainables/special items.

I've been asking for this for awhile now but I'm hoping for this to have another look.

PS: Thanks for addressing the bugs too!

The Hollow -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/24/2023 16:20:09)

^That would be amazing if we could offer those options for players, but we do not have the tracking available to add a buy-back shop for anything other than Z-Token items. If enough players are interested though we could likely add a buy-back shop from Ballyhoo, limited to Z-Token gear.

RobynJoanne -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/24/2023 17:52:58)

I would definitely be interested in a buy-back shop even if only limited to Z-Token gear.

As for war rewards, since war rewards are now based on the number of waves killed, why not use the same system that the war titles use? Put the war cosmetic reward items in the war shops but limit purchase based on war wave count. There's no need for a buyback option in this case since people could just buy copies when they wish if they fulfill the requirements.

battlesiege15 -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/25/2023 17:38:53)

What about if the personal war reward items were made z-token tagged and costing 0 tokens? That way they can be bought back in the future. AQW already does it with AC items :D

PD -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/25/2023 18:43:13)

Yeah, I was thinking more along the lines of what @RobynJeanne was thinking. I was also thinking about how last years' winter donation prizes were not manually distributed, but instead inserted into the respective shops for people to redeem. We already have a thing like it for war titles, I was thinking the same system could be explored for other reward types.

But additionally, a buyback system for certain premium items is something I would definitely favor!

xiProZombiEz -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/25/2023 19:05:39)

I'm new to warring so when you say the rewards are based off waves what exactly is a wave? 2-4 battles? And for our character pages when it says 2000 charecter wins is that wins based off individual kills or wave kills?

Stoic -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/26/2023 4:28:18)

@above: Yeah wave is a couple of battles before you are returned to the camp. Character wins = individual kills

That is on the to-do list for Captain Rhubarb already! We're also looking at possibly expanding even more storage space as well.

This is going to be a Friday release folks!

PD -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/27/2023 19:34:51)

@Hollow: Good to know it's on the agenda! I'm hoping this similar functionality could be looked at if we are going to do things like Back To School later this year, or Guardian/Golden Giftboxes. Maybe have it so that whenever you win the prize or Buy a Golden/Guardian Giftbox, that gains you eligility for a Giftbox Buyback shop in Ballywho. Just an idea though.

Anything to make it so there's less unsellable item going around.

EDIT: Looks like the release is live! And if you're not on Discord, you can use my war tracker here!

The Hollow -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/28/2023 14:40:55)

Ready your troops for part 3 of AdventureQuest's scorching summer event - "Insurmountable". And witness realms colliding as the 20K Voidforged Celestial Arsenal has descended upon AQ!

We are working to fix the issue with counts not properly displaying on the top war wins page!Fixed!

PD -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/28/2023 17:28:03)

Just saw the info subs now for the VoidForged items. From the information alone the effects are pretty expensive to use, but they are also extremely strong. I've been noticing a trend lately where we're getting very powerful effects but are expensive to use (Nemesis 3rd skill, Voidforge, Mermazon Shield). I actually like these design choices because it forces people to be intentional with the effects they are popping off. One of the main culprits of power creep being that people are able to stack effects and buffs endlessly. It should be curtailed even more once we get some much needed item balance changes (EO in particular...) but in the meantime I like this direction of things.

Dardiel -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/28/2023 18:34:33)

Ah the Permanent Effect Tax comes around again, this one most likely bumping Plague Pick out of my inventory. I am very happy to see permanent siphon, as well as quickcast chromatic imbue.

battlesiege15 -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/28/2023 21:49:16)

Bought the new set out of whim. It's fun but not sure if the cost is correct? Was paying 481 SP for the Melee weapon for the weapon skill which isn't 100% Melee. I personally would think that instead of a damage boost for random elements, the resources would be better fit for a lowered SP cost for the skill.

Primate Murder -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/29/2023 4:26:20)

What'd be the better weapon to use with H-Series - Shadowreaper, Multimaul, Zealot's Wrath, bloodblade?

Dreiko Shadrack -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/29/2023 10:39:49)

Multimaul, always multimaul.

RobynJoanne -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/29/2023 11:04:16)

@Primate Murder
Bloodblade and Multi-Maul both deal +20% damage, but the latter also has a negative BtH lean to boost its damage further. Multi-Maul will be always stronger.
Zealot's Wrath spends its MC on a LS effect, which is worse overall in a long war due to the variability in its effect without a LS booster of some kind. If we ever get an Energy Lust, things would be different.

Thus, the question is between ShadowReaper of Doom and Multi-Maul. This depends on setup.
Assuming 300 Str (250 Str + CIT), 250 Cha, and 250 Luk

Dual Dunamis:
Multi-Maul
(1+0.64827+0.5+0.5+0.2)*1.08*1.25*1.88991/1.1*85/65*2 = 17.278
+64.827% is the boost from dual Dunamis at 300 Str and 250 Cha.
+50% is from Initiative.
+50% is from Momentum.
+20% is from Multi-Maul's boost.
*1.08 is from 0-Proc bonus
*1.25 is from FO lean.
*1.88991 is from H-Series EleComp.
/1.1 is the Balance Engine effect to weaken weapon attacks.
*85/65 is from the -20 BtH lean.
*2 is from the doubled turns.
ShadowReaper
(1+0.64827+0.5+0.5)*1.08*1.25*1.88991/1.1*85/60*2 = 17.4037
You lose the +20% from Multi-Maul but gain a further -5 BtH lean.

Angra Linnorm & Essence of Carnage:
Multi-Maul
(1+0.407484+0.5+0.5+0.2)*1.08*1.25*1.88991/1.1*85/65*2 = 15.8176
+40.7484% is the boost from these two. Angra Linnorm is half as effective as Dunamis, and Essence of Carnage is slightly less than 75% as effective as Dunamis due to being overcharged and scaling solely using Cha.
ShadowReaper
(1+0.407484+0.5+0.5)*1.08*1.25*1.88991/1.1*85/60*2 = 15.8213

Dual Mog Lightnaut:
Multi-Maul
(1+1.106175+0.5+0.5+0.2)*1.08*1.25*1.88991/1.1*85/65*2 = 20.0560
+110.6175% is the boost from dual Mog Lightnaut. It's a little over /0.6 of the boost from dual Dunamis due to the lack of an Omni-Elemental penalty and the slightly more optimized stat scaling.
ShadowReaper
(1+1.106175+0.5+0.5)*1.08*1.25*1.88991/1.1*85/60*2 = 20.4130

As you can see, the differences are very minimal, but ShadowReaper is stronger in all cases. In my experience, ShadowReaper's Berserk toggle turns off every fight, but that may be a bug that only I encounter. If that bug happens, it makes ShadowReaper an utter chore to use during a war. Another thing worth noting is accuracy. Normally, the +50 BtH from Momentum removes all need to be concerned about BtH, but this war has Undead Sneaks with 142 Melee Defense. That's enough to make missing a legitimate concern even if rare. Multi-Maul can shift to a +BtH lean to increase your accuracy against Undead Sneaks.

Sapphire -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/29/2023 11:13:09)

Multimaul is berserk. On paper, at core assumptions, it's leans deal no better damage than normal. On negative BTH mode, any BTH boost and/or mainstat boost means it will be ahead of everything else in the game. So just adding a +50 STR (or INT of casting) means it wins, always. Just it NEEDS the bth help, which is simple enough.

JhyShy -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/29/2023 11:53:10)

Hello, I'd like to ask why these war rewards are hidden unlike previous wars in the past like those in War between shadows. Thank you.

Primate Murder -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/29/2023 12:24:42)

@Dreiko, RJ, and Sapphire

Thanks for all the replies!

Multimaul it is, then.

RobynJoanne -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/29/2023 12:26:07)

@Primate Murder
Note that Undead Sneak has been removed from the war pool.

dr jo -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/29/2023 14:13:42)

Thanks for numbers Robyn but why just fought sneak a minute ago

Dreiko Shadrack -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/29/2023 15:00:14)

Have you logged out and cleared your cache since the war began? If you haven't you're not going to be able to access the newest updates regarding it.

dr jo -> RE: =AQ= Summer Event III - Insurmountable (7/29/2023 15:17:05)

No have not as at 100% momentum sneaks easy 1 hit ko but thanks Dreiko
