After re-thinking, I actually don't mind the lack of Core Inventory. Allow me to explain, this isn't about defending Devs but a bit of thinking... Cores allow us to have new strategies, yes there's little amount of them right now but they will be added as we go along in Omega. With little variety at the moment, you shouldn't even bother putting the same cores on all your equipment but the one you prefer AND the cores you want. If you change your build and think ___ core is beneficial to you as opposed to one you own right now, you can either lose your current one or have more than one weapon for each type. Wiki exists, as well as data in game, to tell us what each core does. This is so we think before buying rather than pick the one you want and then change it because you don't like it. That's for the sake of strategy, since, say Generator core will NOT be useful if you've completely ditched defence (base numbers), why? Small HP heal wouldn't do much, EP maybe could be useful. Weapons don't cost as much anymore. Credit (with Varium boost) were over 30K whilst it went down to 20K'ish (from what I remember when I bought Bugzooka + Dage's Boomstick), and there's still Varium alternative but without use of Credits, just like in Delta but back then, we had to pay some Credits, although less than now. So being able to buy more than one weapon should not be a problem really, especially if you like to change builds then you can put different cores on different weapons and only make a switch IF it's worth the cost and you think it will benefit you more than the existing core does. On the other hand, certain weapons may have abilities already! That saves you Credits/Varium, so you 'pay' only half of the price, unless the core is useless and unlock feature won't be added by then. Going back to Cores. Active cores are the most important ones in terms of priority. If you don't wanna spend a lot of Credits, go for just active ones that are useful. Passive rely on luck, since you may get the effect or you may not. That way you also save Credits/Varium. There was a mention of missions awarding cores too, perhaps you could use the core from there (passive, for example) and avoid unnecessary expense on your side. Overall, yes it'd be great to have Core inventory but this is like enhancements in previous phases; you do NOT have to keep buying next best weapon (core in this case) to be able to compete, which means you can save on your Credits/Varium rather than keep buying and buying. If you stick to that, it's MUCH cheaper than the enhancements, unless you change builds over and over again, including cores. Actually no, it's still cheaper even if you keep buying new cores because you don't have to spend a lot of Credits/Varium on new weapon and keep enhancing it.
