Thank you very much for sharing your opinions, it is much appreciated!

willendorf -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 10:07:40)

For the most part I like it. Health is low and blocks are too high, but otherwise its great! I also think that it would be cool if you got 5 stats per level instead of 4.

Calogero -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 10:10:12)

Juggernaut is laughable broken now ( look at the % today )
Stength makes it that no matter the defenses you'll still get huge damage
Massacre has been broken since I don't even remember due to reason above
I remember NW saying that FieldMedic will approve with support again but at a lower rate, where is it?
Varium Items being Non varium all of the sudden, what gives??
Needing to buy cores over and over again... It'll be more expensive than enhancements
Meteor Crash Core, What were you thinking, it's way too strong

Oba -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 10:10:24)

I do not think its fair that we must pay 495 varium/7000 credits per core that we only can use on one item, one time. Reason why is because cores will frequently change and new ones will arrive, and I for one do want to try out new cores when they release. But most cores will most likely not be interesting for my kind of builds, and I dont think its worth 495 varium to try a core which I cant use again if I decide to replace it with another core just for tests.

Summery; I like the idea of Omega, but I dont think the ED team did everything right when there clearly was better alternatives, especially with the cores. But aside from that, its pretty good. Balance is needed before we really can judge all the new features.

King FrostLich -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 10:34:32)

Here are my criticisms of this update:

1.) Damage vs Defense - Since enhancements have been removed being replaced with skill cores, stats were significantly reduced and that every player has the same amount of stat points if their level is the same as well. The problem is defense and resistance scale slowly and with the lack of stat points, renders it vulnerable to malfunction and smokescreen. At the same time, armors giving only 10 extra defense or resistance or mixed is NOT enough. If you want to balance the damage, you'll need to decrease the progression of dexterity and technology and slightly buff the amount given at a certain stat point.

2.) NPC Hyper Buff and Credits Problem - In one of the last DN's, it was mentioned that some boss npc's are going to be buffed and can have the ability of wearing auxiliaries. Well, what if I tell you that you overbuffed heavy mechachillid and the other boss NPC's? Are you serious? Although it no longer counts to your record they have become tougher to beat which is fair enough but WHY buff them when us players are nerfed badly? (ex. Titan is now level 35 with 175 hp and has increased resistance but damage is still slightly the same. Heavy Mechachillid [level 35] had 125 hp before Omega and now has 160 hp) I also noticed that the credits you gain by beating NPC's 5 levels lower than you are as follows:

Level 35 defeats Level 30 NPC - 12 credits
Level 35 defeats Level 31 NPC - 16 credits
Level 35 defeats Level 32 NPC - 20 credits
Level 35 defeats Level 33 NPC - 24 credits
Level 35 defeats Level 34 NPC - 28 credits
Level 35 defeats Level 35 NPC - 32 credits

Like I said, why overbuff level 35 NPC's and then add more health when we players are getting nerfed?

3.) Epic Dresser Game - Unfortunately, this is a nightmare for others that has come true. I went to Junker and tried looking at some of the weapons. I noticed every weapon you buy is now level based which means as your level scales, the price of the weapons also increase. Now, most of these prices can be slightly higher or lower but if you are smart enough, all you need to do is to save the weapon you have and just level up. Basic weapons can be taken FREELY and since all weapons and stats are based on your level, this means buying other weapons that have the same damage type being compared to the basic weapon is just THE SAME. So if you're a bounty hunter who has 30k credits and decide that you want to get better blades at level 35, get the wrist blades. You'll pay 66% less in credits since all you need to do is take the weapon for free and then just enhance it which costs 11k credits rather than buy a cool looking wrist blade that will cost 30k to 36k credits.

4.) Juggernaut - I knew that if they didn't decrease the level gap for juggernaut, it would be a tremendous fail and guess what? The today's juggernaut section seems to have very low win % as I expected.

Smackie El Frog -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 10:45:25)

Reminds me of beta days with the low stats. But one thing that I think needs to be changed is...the star rating is still capped at 2 Blue Stars! We need 3 Blue Star Rating at the least[8D]

theholyfighter -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 10:45:57)

Thanks for making a thread like this.

1. Juggernaut Mode
Reason: Go for a try at it is more beneficial than what I type.

2. Skill Cores
a. Needs to be able to Unlock them (meaning it's a 1-time-pay feature. Currently we have to pay every single time we use it.)
b. Needs to be able to move it from an item to another or put it in our inventory.

3. Stats Retrain
Prices are too high for moving stat modifiers on an item.
Reason:
Currently we have a little amount of stats to work with. Once of the reasons is due to the health/energy scaling.
With little stats to work with, we have to redistribute stat modifiers AND retrain to change a build, which ends up spending 1500 credits to retrain.

4. NPCs Note: This goes for normal NPCs, not bosses.
They're not difficult to defeat; the problem is with the credits. A lvl 35 player only gains 12 credits from an NPC win. It'd be better for it to go back to 32.

5. 2vs2 Pairing
It's quite common so see 2 lvl 35s vs a lvl 35 and a lvl 30 OR a partner losing weapons/armor

6. Strength
Strength builds are dominating unreasonably again.

7. Pricing
I think it'd be better for we players to know how prices are calculated, so we know what we're paying for.
I'd like to as well ask a question: How come Assault Bot costs 20k credits, Infernal Android costs 25k, and a Yeti costs 45k?

Retrosaur -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 10:49:46)

Strength builds are the focus of EpicDuel's metagame. Every single build I have seen has revolved around Strength primarily, then focusing on abusing another stat. Me? I won't lie. I succumbed to the darkness, and picked out a STR build for my Tactical Merc. That one's going to change soon. Tactical mercs are not built for strength.

On the other hand, Mercenaries are. Some have begun to abuse the same "OP Merc" skills since Beta. Usually, the first attack's Maul, followed by Berzerker. By this time, they already have rage OR have done a lot of damage. Next, they either use Meteor Shot, or rage, and vice versa.

I have tried using tanking builds to withstand their punishment, and it really doesn't do much. Bounty hunters are just as strong. Tactical Mercs are the least seen class in Omega by far. All I see are Mages and Hunters.

Stabilis -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 10:55:39)

I will mark things either as: Negative, N/A, or Positive

Item Stat Editing...

Editable = Positive

Upgradeable = Positive

Usable = N/A

No Enhancements = Positive

Core System = Positive (too much luck influence however)

Compensation = N/A (good, but lacks transitioning over to upgrading items)

Item Core Editor...

1 Active Core 1 Passive Core per Item = N/A (passive is just another stat bonus like enhancements, if it was purely active skills or the passive skills did not add onto stats then this would be Positive)

1 Use Cores = Negative (needs a cut-and-paste inventory)

Character Creator...

Design = Positive

Account Creation = Positive

Lack of Guest Play = Positive

ETC...

More Missions = Positive (so long as they are not repetitive nor bland)

Omega Promotional = I have them

Robot Upgrades Sytem = Positive (so long as it is not pay-to-win)

Hairstyles = Positive (is that grease?)

Inventory = Positive

Shop = Positive

Varium Shop = Positive (lacks a generic non-promo package with bonus varium/bonus credits)

New Basic Armours = Positive

Damage bubbles = N/A (overwhelming, needs a simplified version or toggle, especially for loading the graphics)

Revised NPCs = Positive

Golden Yeti Tournament = N/A (grinding will be a nuisance)

New Cores = Positive (keep them coming)

Final Balance = Negative (not sure how this is good)

Darius -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 11:08:01)

1: Item Customization & Upgrading
I like this, even if it is kind of expensive for nooblets like me to pull off. It'd give me incentive to buy Varium, at least. I like the Meteor Shower core on primary weapons, it does nice damage and appears to have a good crit chance. The Generator core on armors is nice, too, but I need to retrain my armor's stats in order to get more HP healing out of it, and that's not cheap.

2: Enhancement Compensation
Illustrious Enhancer, huh? I was hoping for better but expecting worse, so I'm happily balanced. Spent my Varium refund on item cores, got Primary Mastery and Meteor Shower for my Beta Brutalizer, Sidearm Mastery for my Beta Blaster, Deflection Shield and Generator for my Founder Armor, and then I ran out of Varium for more. Looks like I'll have to buy some more soon! :3

3: NPC Battles and Farming
My one-man faction doesn't really need influence, so I don't care that NPCs no longer give it. I haven't really played much since battle tokens were introduced, so they've never been all that important to me. I've farmed exp enough on NPCs at the lower levels, so I think it's time to start moving on up the ladder. NPCs give really low credits, I could probably make more from PvP.

4: New Missions, Frysteland II
I haven't really tried doing missions at all since their release, except one nooblet mission in order to get the Mission Possible achievement, so I'm not that terribly excited about 50 brand-new ones for the Omega release. I also missed Frysteland I, so I'd need a complete refresher in order to even begin to catch up with the event this year. Also, still not a very big fan of missions...

5: Character Stylization, Classic Armors
Totally digging this! Loving the new GUI, loving the new Basic Armors, and the Classic Armor prize code is totally retro-cool! I picked up the Classic Armor for all six of my characters, even my five Lv.1s! I also like my new helmeted hairstyle for my main with my Founder Armor! Three battles against Talia, and I could buy an uber-sweet helmet that makes me look undeniably sick!

Overall Impressions of Omega
I thought I'd love this update, and I was right! Omega--so far, at least--has utterly melted my face off! I can't wait for more!

comicalbike -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 11:08:27)

there are not enough stats for good health
who starts first should win
prices to high for changes
unlock the blue stars
npcs to strong
bm overpowered now
strengh overpowered
if they fix it good quick it will be ok
all armors should be able to have 20 points on level up
i don't mind paying for the cores one time only but after that use them as u like
i don't see much point buying more items as the stats are about the same
we need a core inventory for when we have paid for them
and was the lag all down to omega
please sort the balance out fast
every time i try another build i have to pay again at nearly 500 varium a time its not fair
some mercs starting first and they have only 20 support and 99 strength so 2 hits and dead
just played a bm he started first only 38 support but 93 strength so dead again cant get enough health

RabbleFroth -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 11:10:55)

Great feedback so far everyone!

Retrosaur -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 11:15:42)

I'd even dare say that Omega is just as good as Beta. With the limited amounts of skill cores, builds are all too predictable. STR abuse builds rule meta-game. Since almost all builds focus around STR, you can expect Meteor Shots on all STR abuse users. Same goes for their armors too. It's either Regenerate, if it's non-Chairman, and Chairman's Fury if it is.

Omega should have taken the time to release extra cores. But too bad. The game's still great, but it tastes oddly like Beta. Too many STR mercs I guess.

If anything, (note I'm saying this because I'm a greedy idiot and I'm too greedy to think of others), Tactical Mercs should have some sort of debuff. The way it is, they have no viable options than to tank, which only prolongs their death. I changed my build a bit and went for a SUP abuse (like the saying, "Fight fire with fire."). I still can't win. It's almost impossibly hard as a Tactical Merc because in no way shape or form can I debuff the other team. Which makes it incredibly hard for me, as a Tact Merc to do anything.

However, a note to the developers, @Rabblefroth and @Titan. Metagame is still salvageable (Not the game, UI looks a lot better). Some cores need to be toned down, but other than that and STR abuse, Omega is a huge step going in somewhat albeit the right direction.

JFK Was AFK -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 11:18:35)

Concussive Shot could use some tweaking, no sense putting a passive skill into cooldown.

SouL Prisoner -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 11:19:54)

Jugg : first enhancements removed, then 1 attribute gives 1 health, and on that no boosters ...

For that reason, i did not play at all (just updating wiki)

It would have been so much better if we had core inventory, 1 buy 1 core for like 30-40 k then use it on any weapon, as many times u like .

The attribute thing must be changed back the way it was , 1 for 2

Unknown Menace -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 11:37:34)

My findings so far:

Positive:
- The cores, the cores are great. I do find the passives more usefull at this point. Because of the little room for strategie when a (1vs1)match goes on with a average of 4 rounds.
- The visuals, a massive plus on my side.
- Missions, sometimes vague explained/showcased but overall nothing wrong.

Negative:
- Core managing system, the replacement off a already equiped core slot makes the core just dissapear. Having to pay again, not so great for people that like to trie out cores. Would have been much better if you can just equip/unequip slots by having some sort of core inventory.
- Disbalance, strength is way to superior. This is the most important negative. The enhancements used to serve as a defense shield, now that is gone there is nothing to protect from strength spammers.

Neutral:
- Npc's, not tried out yet.
- Pricing, this is reasonable. (Only paying over and over for the same cores would be the negative.)

Frostblitz -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 11:53:15)

Omega really sucks since all the weapons stats are the same so there is no use buying better gear. There is no more variety in this game. It takes too many stat points just to get to a decent health. I would strongly recommend the staff to make some serious changes to epicduel. There has never been a phase with so many unhappy players >:(

bluerain28 -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 12:05:45)

quote:

Rephrase:

There has never been a phase with so many unhappy (var) players >:(

So far so good. Str abuse? That's part of every online mmorpg / pvp game. There are so called pure builds. -_-. Anyway, I'm not a str build type. [:D]

Master Moody -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 12:06:48)

I am sorry to say that, but i hate omega. i have wasted my money before omega has been released enhansing my wepons to become a fullly enhased and my varium which cost me a lot of money did not come back. i do not grow money on trees. also the way of upgrading wepons is very bad. i have never had a account on the forms i have been playing epicduel since alpha ( the vertion before beta) and i have never needed a form account to coplain about anything. i just regerstered this abount 5 mintue ago. AGAIN PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!

legion of souls -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 12:09:17)

They'll get to it I'm sure.

My personal concern is that history is repeating itself with the strength builds. Battles are ending too quickly and to be honest it requires much less strategy than before.

For myself its: Bludgeon, Gun, Chairman Special, Rage fireball.

Been on like a 20 win streak with this.

Drianx -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 12:16:48)

Dear fellow players, I know you are upset now, but do not mistake confusion with disappointment.

In my opinion, most irritating fact is the impossibility of using one core among all items. That is what kills build diversity because nobody can afford switching cores at the current prices. This is the only aspect in which Delta was better. The possibility of spending 2x500 credits for retraining forth and then back. But now, if you want to switch from one build to another you must also purchase and change 2-6 cores, according to the build needs. As I already said, this kills all build creativity and experimentation.

We desperately need a core inventory, and the possibility to
- remove existing cores from weapons into the inventory
- move previously purchased cores from the inventory onto weapons
without any cost.

I'm not very good, but I'm enjoying it!

ambien -> RE: =ED= Omega Update Feedback (2/6/2013 12:23:00)

ed rly blew this update . to me it is sad day. cost to much for cores, always got to pay to retrain same weapon sad day for that , and for amore same thing.

once you have payed 1 time for cores for your item or weapon or amore why do we got to keep paying to redo stats no fair .

ed needs to redo omega stats. ppl l have talked are not happy with update. thinking of quitting ed because update is so bad.

just my thinking on this .
