That's what I've been doing. Expierimenting with filters. So far, my fav is whirl and pinch. Also, I have no clue what an OS is.

Operating system. Main ones I know are linux, windows, mac, and Ubuntu. Anways, if you like stony or rough textures, try the emboss filter.
