I just think they're too similar. I do admit, there are some differences but... still no. GIMP on the other hand could easily do that, in far less time and it could be smooth

Well.Ferfo's right. The nice pixel aspect of Paint, makes it user friendly and easy.

But..He never said it was fast or not time consuming.

Gimp.. It's just so advanced.Yeah people called me the Gimp pro of these forums before. But man that would make my hands explode if I tried that.

In all.
Paint GMV.

i can easily do the girl on a different canvas, and then paste her onto the canvas with my background. that doesn't prove anything (:

Okay, okay... whatever. Ultimately, the truth is that GIMP can do everything that Paint can and much more. The only thing Paint has going for it is its interface which if you look at the GIMP's isn't much different. Most of the GIMP's features are in drop down boxes above an art piece or are the options of different tools.

how the hell can you do it with a hell of a lot less than one click? that'd be a negative number.
you're going to ctrl+z your way to anti aliasness?

b) PM
c) Another forum, like the official GIMP forums.
Thanks. Oh, and thanks to Umbrageous for the GraphicsGale! :D
Lock please.

Just An Extra Note To SuperGuy That He Might Find Useful;
Pixia :D
Its a Slightly Advanced Paint. Supports All Of The Paint Functions and tools. And Has A few Little Extras For Colouring.
It Would Make Shading ALOT Easier Than If You Were Using Paint Etc Etc. Its Free, So Its Worth A Go. And If
You've Been a Good Little Boy For Christmas You Might Get A Tablet :D Might I Said :L
Pixia Is made to Work With Tablets, Just Dont Make My Mistake and Buy A Dodgy One :L

@ the people who are arguing that the GIMP is so much better than paint, here is my opinion.

The gimp has MANY more features than paint, which is why so many people are adamant on saying it is better. Paint is the grandfather of all art programs, and is an awesome program for making great pieces of art. The drawback of it is the time needed to make a truly wonderful piece. The end product of an artist in GIMP can be made exactly to the pixel by an artist in paint. Zoom in on a piece of art and tell me that it is not made of pixels. Try zooming in on one of the games from AE. I do it when I edit and sprite. It is all made up of pixels, and isn't paint a PIXEL art program? Paint can mimic any piece of art done in any program, making it better most others, in my opinion.

Actually, AE games are made using Flash which is a vector art program. This means that everything is made up of mathematical formulas instead of pixels. Now I shall hold my peace. I too request a lock.

Thats theoretically speaking. They are still literally made out of the pixels on your monitor.

Ferfo can't prove they have been done in paint unless the author recorded the screen while creating the art, which I doubt happened. Remember that paint has no program-specific file type. It works with raw images.

I can't tell if the pieces of art posted were done in paint, however, I can definatly say they could have been done in paint, just like in any other image editing program.

So we've come so low as to insult my mental health have we?

So any reason for this outright insult, monitor screens are made up of pixels, no? So anything displayed on your screen is made up of pixels. Thus any vector art is still made up of pixels, Just the theorems and formulae in editing those pixels change.

well, if they are the same, i find it rather pointless that adobe sells a $900 software, just because it handles vector based images.
someone should put a stop to that feud!

At what point did I say they were the same? anything drawn in a vector program can be drawn in ms paint, just you can't edit your drawing in the same fashion.
