Reality Touchdown!

As part of my private celebration of sorts of my recent sixth anniversary on AQ (a nostalgic moment in and of itself for me), I was rooting through my inventory (I keep a few moderately old rares in storage like one of the Ice Orb shards from Frostval '06-- because they were merged into the Ice Orb Essence upon the completion of one of the later parts of that Frostval, which I never completed, I'm probably one of the few who still has one of those), and I stumbled across my old "Signs". Some of the somewhat "longer in the tooth" players may remember them-- they were the first promotional items through Ballyhoo (for "The Seeker: The Dark is Rising" IIRC). When I looked them up in the 'Pedia for old times sake, today, I realized that we'll soon be coming up on the fifth anniversary of that event. It was quite something for a promo-- a new sign was released every couple of days, each with its own unique effect. Having four of them on hand unlocked a temporary Light weapon upon clicking on the item, which was a necessity to beat the boss that came with the event (quite literally-- IIRC it even healed if you so much as hit them with anything else).

And its hard to believe that six months from now we'll be celebrating Frostval-- which will also mark five years since we first stepped foot in the Nightmare Realm. Ah, the days of mowing down Clockwork Knights... the boss fight that was the Nightmare Queen... I look forward to meeting them again.

Ah Travis I remember those days! In fact I still have all six signs! I even have a Moga Idol 2 that I never sold when the prices went crazy.

I remember the days when Vorpal Edge was one of the strongest earth weapons in the game. :/ and it looked like This!

I actually first started playing around the time when the three-way clan war(That Nautica did not participate in) was available, and you could play as the Aerodu Airship to attack the Geoto base. However, I tried to get around the server cap by creating new accounts. Wish I never had.

I've still got fond memories of things that have come and gone. Bunny Jammies and Bar of Soap. The last Frostval items for Adventurers, which I was at the time. The Signs, as has been said before. I never did have the space for stuff, and I've lost so many rares because of it.

I had all 7 Signs in my active Misc. Inventory for the longest time, but eventually replaced them. That was an awesome event.

Know what I miss? Puns. puns everywhere back when I really emerged in the story, just that silly, over-the-top silly stuff, thats what I miss.

I really miss those bronze signs and such. Little did I know they were rare, and I sold all 3 of my signs and there goes the light weapon that they had. Oh well, not here for bad memories, here for the good nostalgiac feelings.

I remember doing that one hamster maze thing over and over again for the 4800 gold treasure chest in order to save up for the Uber Sets armors, which were 700K each.

I remember when there were 2 Uber sets and one of them was rare.
Having ubers all around messed up their uniqueness.

And i hate the name changes. As soneone who comes back to the game every few months it kinda sucks to always have one or more of my tiems changed.

I remember E and Vampire Slayer. Donovan and Cenara's updates may be more powerful, but just not as classic. It's not the same without "The wicked undead rise with the moon, ready your blades and hunt them soon."

Before I lost touch with AQ and my original account, I remember the absolute BEST STRATEGY EVER was between spamming undead mutant or being a beastmage, getting the gold set and shield (an accomplishment in its own), Sila's staff, and letting your pets do all your work for you 50% of the time while you would charge Sila's staff for a spell every few turns.

I also remember the RELEASE of the Nerfkitten. So many beast builds......

I just remembered that I used to freeze major enemies with the ice katana and then hit them with Call Forth The Fire Dragon in the old Dragonslayer armour. Think that took 120 turns in the armour to charge.

I remember when I started to play this game back in late 2003-early 2004, I used to play this till i reach level 40 then make another account so i could enter without a problem. I loved trying to get that "Animal Crate" and that Werewolf form so i could have an awesome 3 hit armor, though looking for a werewolf to bite me took time... heh good'ol'days

I remember Artix vs The Undead along with paladin class in DF, which I was playing more at the time. It was way OP and had to be nerfed. In AQ, I remember farming with the Plungerizer, and saving for weeks using Vince's Maze to get Valhallan when it came out and was something like 1.5M or 3M, I can't remember which. I remember being really excited when Zorbak's Scythes came out, and I remember buying the smallest house and slowly moving up in the house department to the top, before houses got nerfed. I have 8k tokens along with the best house and never bought tokens xD
Great times, but I regret never having been active on the forums. I probably have fewer than 20 posts.

Also, I came back this year at lvl 80 and it seems like it's much easier to farm now, I don't remember previously being able to get thousands or tens of thousands of xp from monsters. Currently lvl 107, started in March '07
