Inconceivable!

I like that idea EinhanderX01, about having Mechs with no real focus in specials. It opens up SCMMs to more customization and doesn't just force the mech into a damage or buff/debuff role like the past few SCMM have been.

The animations and artwork of Nemesis look epic, but when it comes to its moveset, it's kinda disappointing. Its body special could definitely have fallen into the body destruction category. Something has got to break on the other mech when you slam it into the ground like that. Even some unique special for each SCMM (or is that asking too much already?) might make them actually worth the time the devs have investing in them.

We already have that. Just look at some of the mechs I posted for the "Wild Frenzy" class.

The real issue is in the "Increasing Damage over Time" class. We've had several of the same relative setup in recent times, and those don't have much in the way of strong or unique specials that could be capitalized on. Unlike the Viking or the Falcon, where they had a few unique specials that could be complemented with customization for a better focus besides "IDoT", the Master Blaster and the Nemesis just have a rather standard weapon set that a few Rare or non-Rare equipment can do better. Not to mention, the Nemesis is actually crippled somewhat if it's the FS and BA are not customized while the rest of the unit is.

Blademaster/BladeStorm is, by my standards, the last release of the Wild Frenzy class, since the Head and Shoulder specials could be complemented with Arms that have more Buffing/Nerfing effects, or complementing the Arms by adding more damage-based Shoulders and a Damage-boosting Head. While it didn't have any real focus, it was unique in that it made up for that lack of focus with a solid set of strong defaults that could be complemented with via customization. Sure, the defaults were considered to be somewhat OP, but that's what made the mech good and useful despite the lack of focus. With customization, the mech then became, as my 2 examples showed; either a solid Buff/Nerfer or a straight up Damage Dealer.

The blademaster was great, it had offense, so most people liked it, and it had a few weapons that could be used for a defensive build, so people who liked defense liked it.

Also, how is the automorph offense over time?

And while the next one will probably fail, and be a high damage mech like all the recent ones, I hope that if it isn't, it is a reflection mecha, which uses the opponents damage against them.

Yeah, because that's obviously what it meant , it's not like they were just noticing the last few have been following a pattern or anything.
Nope.
Not at all.

I happen to love SCMMs, they make up most of my inventory, however I dislike wasting money on mechs that just aren't that great...

I wish we could have another DoT mech like the Reaper.

@Hellsoarer
I love SCMMs, I just don't like recent SCMMs, which, as glai said, follow a pretty obvious pattern.

Hellsoarer: I love the fact that you only picked out five parts that had "fail" in it. How unbiased of you.

Legoking: DoT? Eh...at this point, I'll take anything other than pure direct damage. ,_,

I wasn't SC when the first SCMMs came out... Have we had an EP killer SCMM yet?
If not, I want one...

The Aegis, but that is fairly obsolete now.

I agree, we really need one.

@stealth
Technically the Aegis was more defensive than EP drain. :P
It's just that its head was its most potent part, that drained EP.

Its 2 most useful weps, IMO, were its body and head, 1 to decrease boost very rapidly and to negate 12.5% of the damage dealt to you, and the 2nd to decrease hit chance very rapidly and chop off huge amounts of EP after 5 turns.

I wouldn't say it's obsolete yet.

The EP drain part is, the current EP drain builds can take away all of the targets EP in 3 turns.

My Liberty Annihilates their EP in 3-4 turns, but you can't customize it...

Yeah, the liberty is good for EP draining. Cloverlock can also kill it in 3 turns, can be customized, and keeps it low (the liberty does too, but you could get a long chain of misses). It is a build, not a mecha though.

Point is, we need an EP draining SCMM.

Well, I could go for:
  • Healing/Defensive
  • Defensive
  • EP Drain
  • DoT/Defensive
  • DoT

...Well, anything but another pure offense mech...

    Me too.

Though I would most like EP drain or healing.

And the AC could be considered EP drain, quite a lot of the fights I win in that are when they run out of EP because of the head, then it kills them.

It would be nice, but it probably won't happen...

XD I was on the side of stun too.
The problem is, the SCMMs with stunning bodies can already stun-lock an opponent.
And the others that don't but have access to a high power weapon(Mohawk for example) just need to stun them long enough for the kill.

The only strategy that works on everyone, is OHKO.

    Everything else has a weakness.

Even then though, it doesn't really make sense against myracyrina, I mean the mech is just her using her magic powers, so if you abduct her, then she can just use her magic powers to create a mech from inside your mecha, blowing it up.

    It still works though.

I seriously wish I got the April Fool's Mecha from last year. Geez, it's also dissappointing for me to lose to The Reaper with my Nemesis. The DFA stun, gets me every time.
Other than that, I'm wondering where's the next SCMM. o _O

The april fools 08 isn't that good. It was amazing back when it was released, but now it is not that great, unless you are willing to try 100 times until you win. Yes, if you do try 100 times, it is omgamazing. But otherwise, it sucks.
And the Reaper is better than the nemesis. Yes, it was released a year ago, but it is still better.
