@InfamousNightshade: It's also possible to just edit in a "Resolved" message at the end of the thread title. I'd imagine it would take a lot of work to code a "Lock Request" button, and the possible benefits seem limited. Also note that different Q&As have different lock preferences. In AQQ&A, threads are rarely, if ever locked. @Ashari: A "lock your own threads" feature is both unfeasible and impractical. A quote from Sir Gnome from another thread: quote:

Locking is a local moderator level function, and without a LOT of work for the forum coders, it wouldn't be possible to give people the power to lock their own threads without the power to lock any thread in that board, which would be very much open to abuse. Also, this creates a power issue. If members were given the right to lock their threads, they would also have the power to unlock them, thus allowing them to overrule the actions of a moderator/ArchKnight.
