there is that two, when i was a non varium player, i was lvl 27 and in legit... my wins were great.. although my persent was not. and that was because of the weapons epic duel supplies f2p members.

Okay, to clarify, gamal name changed to A.N.O.N.Y.M.O.U.S

thats why you cant find gamal a character page.

Same with V3gtilix, he just didnt name chnage and doesnt come on.

i miss those days i think about that sometimes saying i miss the beta days gamma players didnt get to see beta so they think gamma is best

Nobody influences my descisions, Beta was better for multiple reasons, but gamma has improved the game in some aspects.

However, I miss Beta because of;

1. Actual clan loyalty, where people were proud to join factions, specific factions, and people made plans - AND stuck to them.

2. The legends - I can honestly say I considered level 30's back then legends in some cases. Cases such as 0xblooD, Angels Holocaust, Comicbike and his alts, v3gitIX, Gamal, yes I am fully aware they botted etc. But they werethe players people aspired to be.

3. The legendary factions - TSAAS, ED GLADIATORS, SavageKillers, BKoC, Alliance of the Loreans and many, many more, proper teams, so tight and organised.

5. The builds - Mercs used field commander and intimidate with high dex, regardless of all the other skills. Nobody abused support, people averaging at about 52 with enhancements. Bountys used more str/dex with POISON, but there were the super skilled players like Uaex, Angels Holocaust, Shaniqua, Sparticus an others used the Frostbane, and everyone was absolutely baffled, an energy weapon on a bounty hunter? :O And they used Reflex boost and Energy shields, and the EMP grenade.

6. Few people were maxed levels, and aside from bountys, players usually adapted their own build. There were few generic effective builds, and in making a good one you set apart the men from the boys :] I remember asking on the old forums about a support or tech bounty, a tech merc or a support mage and people laughed it off only to discover one day these builds would become terrifying.

Ahhh nostalgia, world 8 oz was full of spammers, but you could guarantee good banter, and doin something other than clicking 1v1 for 6 hours a day, like rapping with FK and Raven :p

 What's so bad about ED now? I played on my ounty Hunter for most of Beta, then he got massacred by Heal Loopers, so I had a Tech Mage. So having endured both stages, I see nothing different. I just ignore all chat(most of the time)

@Cinderella, Yes Oz World 8 was full of people spamming. But those spammers brought the funniest moment in EpicDuel history when fumbles asked Donna Matrix if she wanted to trade accounts with him

I laughed my head off, and so did Donna. Fumbles was banned and all the trading account nonsense from him was done.

Sidenote: I miss seeing Death Syndicate X and Legion a top the LBs everyday. I miss wondering what Angels Holocaust was like, I miss leveling up and meeting new players. I miss Shaded Rose, Callisto, zerotech, and countless others. I miss watching Rez jump and jump and jump. I miss a lot of things, but that's life. We need to move on.

Not a day goes by that I don't regret seeing Truly Clutch on leaderboards, seeing myself winning 1v1 daily champion, seeing my buddies who would be on all the time with me. Spending varium once and a while to get the latest weapons instead of every other week. Yep, that was my Beta, that was my EpicDuel, that WAS my favorite game....

Lol, I atually miss the days where I was a big noob.
I was level 21 and dark avenger invited me into scared champions (kicked 2 seconds later for being a noob :) )
then at level 23 laz invited me into BKOC, but he kicked me because i apparently "ran from a fight"
then wise took me into KOTR at level 24, him and shockblazer helped me get good builds
then at level 28 i got officer at KOTR, but i left to make my own faction
but all the time i hanged out at oz 12
my only friends who still play who i knew nearly 2 years ago are duck and cross :P

I think everyone misses the phase where they staryed playing. People miss seeing their favorite factions dominating, miss how the game was run when they played, and dislike having to change their playing style to cope with changes.

I miss gamma, the supposedly most hated stage, probabky because that is the stage that i started playing epicduel in.

 Beta and Alpha were much worse than it is now.

Some builds were just plain stupid and it was the start of the whole Stat inflation problem. Heck, the game was much more unequal than it is today.

And for those of you who think that Beta was a time when people respected each other, the old ED forums were anything but friendly. I was a member of both forums, and it was just 99% bad; gigantic quote pyramids, mile long page stretching, spammers, endless flame wars (report section was a flame magnet), pagelong sigs, nude women sigs (Dillbagel...), and an entirely un-comprehensive, ineffecitve, and sparely enforced system.

And about the balance... If you were a non-varium back then you pretty much lost every fight because of the stat advantage that varium players had back then. Stat interval was much less wide so a 78 stat difference would've spelled the end for you.

Back in beta days, where no one called each other noobs? I dont care
where every faction got along with each other? Its war, factions should fight with each other
when this game was actuly fun to play? yeah i agree, luck factor ruined this game completely
when i could log on and not see 7 players ask me for fame for fame? dont fame ignore them
when i could sit in world 7 oz, and have a convo. with out all these noobs asking for fame, and keep spamming me if i dont?
The old Leader Board, where Gamal was in first place? :S old, new, whats the difference, now comical is 1st he is also good :S
when three stars and a sun ruled this game? Now CaD rules this game :P
when world 7 oz used to be the place for fun chat with good friends, not a place for fame and fight? I dont go there like before

I miss heallooping with mage :(, I miss old % skills, I miss no agility, I miss when item quality was important now its buy some varium items and lucky side wins.

well i wasn't there in beta time ,but i was there in gamma , so ya old time's were much better !!

for the name shake of balance ,they screwed up all the build's!!

1st they felt support build is Oped ,they nerfed it , then comes 5fous , stren (maybe stren was kinda Oped ,but now , replacing technician skill with blood shield ,actually helped them to use stren build better !!) coz technician improved with dex and coz of that they had to keep high dex ,but now its all same no need to worry ,coz blood shield ,it does not improve & plus stay's for 5 turns)

i noe they removed to balance tank build ,and they succeeded in that ,but helped stren ,build !!
