I wonder if this rescaling is really gonna help damage rates because if skills like Berserker are becoming like Deadly aim, wouldn't that still benefit Str Mercs, assuming that Berserker becomes like a Sword version of Deadly Aim, making it so they would still hit around the same high hits or if not much higher damage than they used to? The rescaling of % damage increase skills imo is more of a buff than a nerf. Though some say its a nerf, it's also a buff. Let me give you an example: My current damage for my staff is 13-16+32 energy damage which is literally 45-48 damage and I have a level 1 berserker(70% increased damage). Let's say my opponent has over 31-38+8 resistance. The RNG picks my damage as 47 while its picks 42 of the opponent's resistance First of all let's solve it like as if it were a math problem in TODAY's calculation. The calculation is simply:(before update happens) 47 - 42(0.70)+ the difference of your total strength damage against enemy's resistance = 8.5 damage In simple definition, the way things are calculated today until the balance update arrives is your damage minus your opponent's resistance(or defense if your using a physical weapon) then multiplied by 0.70 after getting the difference of your total strength damage and your opponent's resistance, you deal 9 damage to that person since this game does not do any decimal damage but rather whole numbers. As for the so called new balance update, the calculation will change. Let's take the same example from above: New Calculation from Balance update: 32(0.70)+ 32 + amount of strength damage(let's say 15) - 42 = 27.4 damage This is the new calculation since it says it's going to work like deadly aim. If you're confused whats up with the second 32 hanging around there lol, it is because the first 32 multipled with 0.70 is the amount of increased damage FROM my staff and you have to add it with the base staff's damage once again and the amount of str damage which from the example, is 15. Finally, after getting the total sum of all your damage, just subtract it with your opponent's resistance you deal 28 damage(since, once again, this game doesn't do any extra decimal damage) The only reason why others call it a nerf is BECAUSE it will only deal less damage to ANY opponent who have small amounts of defense/resistance like ranging 1-15 defense resistance which isn't a big deal after all. Besides, people don't use berserk or any skill against low defense players. My simple conclusion to this balance update is this: It's a nerf when hitting people who have extremely low defense/resistance AND it's a HUGE buff when hitting people who are tankers especially the tanking mercenaries.
