 Nightwraith is going to draw till his hands heart, could be a while, lol. I'm excited for some missions as well.

Lol, they took away one requirement from a mage skill but they just HAD to add a requirement to malf :). What are the balance team trying to do, force us all to use focus builds? That's boring, I want to try something creative. I agree with what rej said as well.


All three of the key skills of a Battle Mage have been taken away now; Field Medic, Reroute and Malfunction. Thanks again.

^^Tech requirement was added to it which was supposed to nerf Tac Mercs, but they forgot about what it would do to mages.

@T-600: the only players I see using max level malfunction are usually unskilled players.

if your build has low strength then you are likely to have decent support and can use a level 2-5 malfunction instead of lv7+. in the rather bizarre case
that somehow you have less than 30 support AND strength, you will have to settle for a lower level/power malfunction, which will be the sacrifice you
make for having extreme amounts of tech and/or dex.

can anyone picture a scenario where the str requirement on Malfunction will be a major issue for them? [I am presuming 42 str at max, 24 str level 1]

 psibertus, it's "(19 +2/Lvl)" so at Lvl 1 it's 19 Str, 21 Str, etc so at Lvl 10 it's 39 Str, not 42 even. Most players go for Lvl 6-7 Malf which is 31-33 Str only, that's not much point put into Str and gives you a lot more focus on other stats. Remember that your Gun also improves, count DA in and voila!

 No problem. ^^ I'll need to retrain for that 7 more Str but I don't find it a problem, few points from Tech and Support and my build is as good. :3
My Merc also cannot wait to see better Field. Only at Lvl 1 but its boost is somewhat good for him but will be better now so! :D

Depending where you live, if it's late there then I'd advise going sleep. It might take a bit longer and I usually go sleep and play in the morning instead (1:25am here in UK) as there's no LQS being released so everything will be the same as it should be. :P

Heads up: still working on the release, might be a bit late but barring any major bugs we should be releasing tonight. Titan's trying to finish up the Finder Bot and then we should be golden.

Keep in mind, the focus here is on the Tech Mage. We added the Strength requirement to prevent abusive Technology builds from going crazy, but the Strength requirement on Plasma Bolt, a tier 1 primary spell, was just too debilitating.
