Well speaking from expierence I've tried a high str build with Ch(doesn't really work well) and I couldn't even get 23 energy.

Firstly, this opens up, as stated above, creativity! Which i myself is very found of. So i can only agree with the statement;
Evolve or die.
I might actually level My alt tlm For this sole change because in my mind, this opens up some very, very interesting builds! Support 5 focus new connect weapon using a nice fc. (gotta love reroute For rebuff) coupled even with an assaultbot could be pretty deadly.

Conclusion: Be openminded to change, rise above and adapt. Sucess will be yours.

Best Tactical Mercenary build after the balance update:

Technology + Support

95-125 health

60 energy

Max Mineral Armour, Max Reroute, remaining points on Surgical Strike and Field Commander.

Physical Armour

Great for 1v1, and 2v2.

Auxiliary damage, ranged weapon accuracy, luck, and supporting (strength boost from Field Commander)

Think of it as a normal Merc with Reroute. MKAY???

Nerf CH, then it will be balanced...with TLM at the top of the food chain AGAIN.

I think this just changes what group of players TLM will be best suited to fight.
F2P's have Rusty which negates your smoke
Variums have Azrael to negate FC

All you are doing is switching from F2P's being able to beat one of your tactics to Variums being able to beat one of your tactics you still have an edge over a group of people in general so does it really matter.

Yes, very UP, they will all come crawling to me, begging mercy with only: field medic, double strike, mineral armour, stun grenade, blood shield, field commander, reroute, frenzy, artillery strike, surgical strike, atom smasher, toxic grenade in their arsenal. For shame!

I can't even believe their complaining. TLMs should not have had a skill set like this in the first place. So when they finally take it it's complaints everywhere. As the phrase goes
Evolve or Die, in this case lose a lot. Same thing really.

Also for those saying FC is pure crap - did you know FC and Intimidate will be getting revamped to make Mercs stronger? Yes that means BMs will get stronger Intimidate (not stat wise, maybe effect too), Mercs will get stronger skills and TLMs will have more useful FC. Actually nvm, time is the principle here and living in balanced game until that happens must be an overkill.. I apologise. <_< >_>

@Turkish We will be a lot weaker. My win/lose ratio will drop badly because all the NPCs I fight require me using Smoke to beat them without smoke I'm dead. Thanks a lot devs! :D

Yes because Staff looks at balance fighting NPCs and making it suitable for NPC players. By your rants, what do you want to get? Smoke back? We got your point few hours ago - using brain won't hurt to get other build. Got one? That's great! Now get used to it, Smoke isn't most important skill. Mercs can do it, why can't TLM? Energy regen puts them above Mercs and gives better variety of builds due to low limitation on Energy.
Enjoy your lower ratio, and remember balance is in PvP not vs NPCs. NPCs have custom skills for a reason, js.

Blood Shield is better off suited to Mercenaries who restore zero energy. Tactical mercenaries COULD use Energy Shield instead, and reduce the effectiveness of Artillery Strike. In this way, they can profess in the area of Support without being Support OP when Strength eventually dwindles down.

@Trans Their isn't any other build left for me to use without Smoke. So now I can't fight NPCs anymore and now I gotta deal with lvl 34 vars every match. And I can't fight NPCs anymore now. I really hope they reconsider this for the sake of us TLMs. I don't mind a nerf but I do mind being destroyed. But hey I'll deal with it!

support isn't OP at all. nerfing artillery is just overkill making their already 80% support build (even with smoke) into an even worse winrate.

I am TLM too, maybe just Lvl 29 but non-Varium so I will feel the changes although I fight mainly top CHs which will be nerfed so I might get small chance.
Remember why Technican was taken out? Because of Smoke + Bot, Technican improved them both which was too much. Now Smoke is gone and it only empowers SS which isn't used by all + is Ultimate Skill. Perhaps we'll get it back for that reason? I'm sure it'll be better than Blood Shield as you get Technology boost that will also affect your Deflection rate and empower few things as well (and not cost HP).

Sage, I have Str-oriented already. Digi had one too, as I showed him and it worked also as a Tank/Focus 5 build with Poison, Atom, Frenzy and high Heal (maxed Mineral as well). I though you said there's just Support build? And SS build which relies on Tech? Great with Mineral Armor than Hybrid + Energy regen gives you better stats set-up because you don't have to put much into it because you can regen it.
We're not trolling anyone, you are instead by showing earlier skills to not read entry of TLM and what skills are empowered by Tech (you said none), that there's no build without Smoke (wait there is? lolwhut?), and judged everything - whole change without it coming out nor being finalised. You're trolling instead, but as Wraith said, no point posting here because it'll be flamewar, warnings given and so on..

@Void Support builds are no longer OP due to the constant nerfs. @Sage Exactly. How many TLMs in battle have you seen without Smoke? I mean honestly Smoke is a very important piece of our skill tree. And then they wanna take it away. I mean people if they do this we will be the only class without a debuff and have the weakest buff ever. A lot of people here probably know it will destroy us but they are just happy to watch us TLMs suffer for nothing. Sure we where OP ok nerf us but don't destroy us! This is a overkill not a regular nerf.

@people-not-contemplating-the-true-power-of-Support,

Strength is usually the reliance of blockable attacks, high damage output, and a continuous volley.

Support isn't as fast as Strength we will say, but it can have the best of both worlds, being a high % and fast kills.

And also remember when Support is the choice of offence, there is no avoiding the damage of Auxiliary, and no hope of deflecting a 40 damage Artillery Strike.

Turns in between attacking can be used for Field Medics of trolling and any other OP-with-Support buff such as Defense Matrix or Energy Shield or Reflex Boost even.

with deflects on tech, good luck having a succesfull support build.
and good luck using high energy attacks at the risk of EMPs or frostbites.
