This way assimilation will actually be worth investing (many) points in it, so it can turn the whole match around just like an EMP grenade or atom smasher can.
OR perhaps make it return 100% of energy drained and with a progression like this:
Starts at 1 energy drained/returned at level 10, improving by 1 energy drained/returned every 5 levels and by 2 every skill level.

Assimilation level 1 = 5
Assimilation level 2 = 7
Assimilation level 3 = 9
Assimilation level 4 = 11
Assimilation level 5 = 13
Assimilation level 6 = 15
Assimilation level 7 = 17

Assimilation level 10 =23


Those statistics are way too high. We don't need Tech Mage to replace Cyber Hunter as flavor of the month just yet.

I would say the eff word here, but this is the forums, so I won't. But it took me like an hour to balance that out and you say no to it O.O
Plus, just think of it. Which is more OP, a tier 1/2 passive shield with +11 def/res at max, or a tier 4 active BLOCKABLE skill that drains about 20 energy at MAX?
And btw,
static charge=tier 2, 2 turn cooldown, variable energy regain
assimilation=tier 4, 3 turn cooldown, fixed energy regain

Well I can kinda see where he is coming from because it does do damage and take away energy while returning it.
But I do like your idea.

Yes Assimilation is no good at all they should improve , first u can be blocked second u need it maxed to steal the lousy 12 energy and gain 6 back . There should be a big improvement on the skill stealing energy effect even if its for the cost of doing no damage . By the way why is the classes with shadow arts that get EMP ?! that is wrong no

@NDS a better question is why is the class with Shadow Arts, which improves block rate for those who do not know, the only class that has an unblockable energy drain attack

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Any suggestions about increasing max assimilation to draining 16 energy?

If you have a Strength Build, about 20-24 Primary Damage, with the current effects of assimilation you basically can give them back all the energy that you stole from the enemy target.
