Just saying normal phrases like 'hi' will sometimes get you an administrater warning for 'bad language', its getting annoying, so i hope the mods can actually figure out which words are acceptable and not acceptable.

Yea that bad words censor thing is not working right... it sometimes blocks normal words! so frustrating!

^Usually it only says that "um" is a bad word if the last would that you said ended with a C or K. (You have to be careful about accidentally creating bad words in two separate messages in Epicduel for some strange reason.

This is an ongoing issue that will hopefully be addressed in the near future.

 Some times it filters out words because linked with what you may have said last, they make inappropriate words. If you have an issue with 'Hi', then try 'Hello' and it most probably will work. Just find another word to use instead.

Edit: If there's any phrases that do 'just not work', then, please post them here, as RabbleFroth has said below!

I'm actually very interested in making the chat filter a little better and I need more examples of everyday chat that gets blocked, so I'm going to let this thread keep going (just watch your language).

Let me know of any common words you continuously see getting blocked.

I typed the phrase gg loser after getting called a noob and loser was blocked. How can he call me a noob but I can't say that? lol

I think because it has the word 'Niger' in it so it(filter) might think it's a racist comment.

 One that I notice coming up a lot for me is "hey" when the previous word typed ends with "g". The filter also carries onto separate private chats so if I end off a sentence with the word "playing", the filter will not let me say "hey" in another chat window due to the letter sequence of g and hey being filtered.

I could see why it is filtered, since there is a bad word contained in those letters, but this is such a common phrase that it gets annoying after a while.

 i cant type "hit 34" or "hit" but i can type i guess they need to make allie chat free to talk everything. The time limit is less to advice our low level partners what to do and with the chat filter i have no clue which word is messed up. So as usual we evolve and now allie chat goes like. "bolt 32" "heal up" "malf 30" "noob"

I am starting to wonder why we have it in the first place. Why not just have 2 different groups, one for 18+ with no filtered chat and one for 17 and under with a fixed chat system? Just have 2 different servers or something.

Yeah, why is typing "sucks" in the chat bar considered bad. Next thing you know, they will ban typing "noob".

Chat Filter bug .

Type Kingf4f? Press Enter , Type again Kingf4f? Press Enter ,it says inappropriate ... Works for sure, tested....100% sure..

 @above It's because it recognizes strings of messages as one long message and ignores numbers and symbols so the filter sees it as kingffkingff. Not pointing out the part in question just to be safe on the rules.

You must be aware that kids under 17 know how to swear. Heck, I get 9 year old kids coming up to me on Epic Duel calling me a 'loser' and a '_____ noob'. How do I know they are 9 years old? By how immature they are ._.

Alright sounds like most of the cases have to do with the chat filter looking at your previous chat and filtering things it shouldn't.

If I get the chance I'll try to make it block what we want it to, but let innocent phrases through more intelligently. Somewhat minor so it's low priority, though.

One problem that I noticed with the chat filter is that if I somehow end up typing something that is "inappropriate" (possibly from chaining with the last statement), it ends up blocking whatever I type for the next few seconds, regardless of what the message was.

EXACTLY!!!
I learned curse words in the 4th grade. But at the very least make it not as strict. How is "shutup" and "idiot" not allowed but "loser" and "noob" are?

In my opinion words that should be allowed: stupid, idiot, shutup, basically any words that only a 2nd grader would consider "bad words."
