During battle I always feel like a hunters shadow art increases their block to much. Discuss how you feel about shadow art and how you deal with it.

I find it okay since 1) It's luck-based , 2) It can get annoying but not when my opponent has super low DEX , 3) I can use Energy unblockables and , 4) Useful for BH in NPCing .

How do I know when it is working when I do not block an opponent? I do not.

It's all about luck. And it helps to stun, too.

Make a build with more dex then your opponent simple!!! @Death jr i feel like today you faced many tank cyber hunters and lose to them badly :-P

It is fine. You most like just have an extremely low dex for it to annoying.

SA can get annoying when high dexterity multi CHs use it. Other than that, I pretend it's not there.

I must have misread you OP.

I think you meant to say: "Shadow Arts is purely luck-based, and maxxed out it is only a 10% increase, and everyone with high SA already has high DEX anyway, so no one can tell if it's SA, unless a guy has like 7 SA and no DEX at all, and you get blocked."

SA is relatively UP, I MIGHT use it more if it also gave a +chance to connect, but for now, no one uses the Stun/Plasma grenades in the Hunter trees, therefore, the +stun chance is relatively useless, and the only other thing is +block chance, which is dubious.

I find Shadow Arts to be extremely biased towards me- I rarely block when I need to, but almost constantly block attacks that would deal 3-5 damage.

yeah ive noticed that too, ive got 91 dex and max shadow arts and i tend to block alot more against people who dont do so much damage. ive also noticed there are certain skills of my oppenent that i block pretty often.

Joe, reason being that no one uses stun grenades is because our EMP grenades are way better (especially compared to other energy drains) so it kinda balances out.

On topic:

SHADOW ARTS IS OP'ed?!?! LOL

It is a skill that you use your leftover skill points on...it is..nvm...go as a hunter urself and see

LOL.... got called a hacker, and got reported .-. Ive got 91 dex + max shadow arts. i blocked like 5 moves in a row.

Well with max block chance going down, perhaps SA's block chance should go down to. Maybe have every level instead of giving 1% chance have a .75% chance. Just to stop people from thinking they could have low dexterity and should still be able to block.

I've always found Shadow arts and other "luck increasing" skills to be fairly obselete. It still has to be remembered that even though these skills do increase the the chances of Critical, Block, Deflect ect. happenening it all comes down to wether or not the %'s are in your favor. The major block % is still currently decided by dexterity vs dexterity / 2.5 and not the Shadow arts 10% increase. Plus with all the unlockable skills / weapons out at the moment you can always base builds around not been able to be blocked which would render Shadow arts useless.

I have 111 dex and max shadow arts and it seems to be doing its job. I think it's a skill that hunter's should have.

It's all random. All the matches that I've been in I've had the highest dex and yet I'm always getting blocked or never get any blocks.

I currently use a level 10 SA with my 5 focus tech abuse Cyber, and I block as much as I would with 100 dexterity.

Not useless, just needs a small buff perhaps.

It's far more useful for the bounty hunters than the cyber hunters. Bounty hunters use smokescreen. This lowers dexterity. With shadow arts and 90+ dexterity (so not even that much), bounty hunters can make up for their lack of defenses in blocking, whilst a cyber hunter has plasma armor AND defense matrix.

To summarize this, when was the last time you saw a bounty hunter use energy shield, or a cyber hunter without plasma armor?

Not lots of stun player with lvl 10 shadow art and it cost energy so stun it pretty much useless with 30% +10% - support less than your oppoment= even less. It have very low dmg too. Block chance require support requirement and it it waste ur skill point since it force u to increase to 42 support.


OVerall, i think u should keep it but add a bit like % more rage rate but have double requirement like 42 support and 42 strength at level 10 so it force people into 5 focus build

Not just 1 stat requirement, but 2? Also keeping it to luck and some rage... I would avoid that skill "like the plague".
