@Nub
That's like saying that all varium players with max-enhanced gear are better than non-variums, because they tend to accumulate more wins.

If a person thinks or call himself a 'pro', then he is not. The rest are 'pros'.

Oups, I just called the rest of players 'pros', therefore making them not pro.

I'm confused (but smexy).

From what I saw in ED (and other games) , "pros" are players who like to think they are special , better then others and call players noobs. If you ask me, we are all regular players and that's it.

and no, "time" doesn't make you a pro, that's is what leaderboards, factions and all that related stuff are about..

If you define "Pro" being the best at ED, then it would be someone who can make the best builds for any particular situation. To me the most obvious examples are players like JariTheMighty and B9000 who were able to accomplish difficult achievements even though they belong to the less fortunate class of ED...

The thing I think would best describe a pro in as simple terms is just this; A pro does things that the average player believes cannot be done. Once you achieve the impossible, then you truly can say you are better than others. It does not matter if you have done things others have done, because it's entirely achievable already.

For me a pro has one sole characteristic: Try to give out the best of itself testing out the game mechanics to make it fair for everyone(contributing on solutions to make the balance close to what is should be).

I find silly the requirement of being a tester in the past phases; many players had played through the past phases but haven't contribute a single time to the balance thread, or had thought a useful idea to make it progress.

^ Thing is, it's quite obvious what needs done but then the children would stand no chance, would become frustrated, and never want to play. When they can get completely lucky and beat those they have no chance against, they continue to play. So discussing things such as balance is useless because the players views of balance and the devs are different. We wish for strategy and things that would make the game more complicated but the debs wish for simpleness and ways to get eight year olds to beat 23 year olds with absolutely no strategic effort whatsoever.

Pro player? Someone that is able to adapt in battle and just when you think you got the win he comes back.

In my opinion a "Pro" player isn't a good thing. It is a person who blames every loss on luck or broken game mechanics, class hops(to the most overpowered of course.), uses an overpowered build created by someone else, and has their internal clock set around their 15 npc's.

Now how I would define a GOOD player is this: Someone who can identify why they lost, determine if it would be worth it to change their build to compensate for the found weakness(if fixing it wouldn't create a whole new weakness), and adjust it accordingly to create an efficient, well rounded build that they can call their own.

For example, my build has low support, but I don't complain when I don't get first turn or get crit a couple times because of it.

I'll end this with one last thought.

Pro - short for professional, I.e., your profession, meaning career, meaning you make a living doing it, and on Delta V, we all get x amount of credits after every battle, so that makes every single player "Pro" if you think about it in a literal sense.

Good night!

lol, most of you guys are wrong about a pro being a player capable of making unique builds. Sure builds are copied but is not really rare for multiple players to come up with the same build without seeing that kind of build before. I dont know I haven't played ED for a while but for some reason recently I started craving it like a pregnant woman craves chocolate, so I played for a little while, and got pwned a couple of times, I decided to change my build ( been gone since delta) and to my surprise I saw 10 players with the same build as mine, wired coincidence right?

There is nothing like a unique build, every build in this game use the same basic strategy, but a pro is a player who knows how to add their own spice to the build, and over time the spice the add to their build makes that build unique, but as time passes by, that unique build became part of the basic strategy used in every build.

To me a pro is a player that has an experience, a player that can keep up with the curve, a player that can lead his team mate to victory or even better read his or her team mates mind. A pro is any player who can make the best of what the got, ( varium or non varium, fully enhanced equipment vs not, max level vs not etc).

A pro is also a player who have/ had good memories of this game.

A pro is a player who have eternal rivalries, friends, and feels anger and ( not or) happiness while playing the game.

And finally a pro is a player who contributes to the game, either by buying varium packages or by contributing to the forum ( i.e general discussion of ED suggestion) or by making videos that when the look back on later, all the can say is good times.

Now I feel the need to jump in again and say that Yo son is incorrect no one's definition of a pro player is wrong because these are all opinions

I am called a "pro" very often on my main account, simply because I am max level, and look awesome :P.
A pro would be someone who is paid to play this game, and since none of us are paid to play EpicDuel, we can only assume none of us are pros.

Although, we can call some people better players, or veterans.
This seems to be the most incorrectly used reason to call one a "pro".
