Currently they do. I suggest they don't.

In this suggestion, SmokeScreen and Malfunction can still reduce the effectiveness of stats improving a skill and lower the opponent's defense/resistance. However, they do not lower the opponent's BLOCK chance and DEFLECTION chance.

In return, to maintain a sense of balance, while SmokeScreen and Malfunction no longer affect opponents' block/deflection chances, a small buff to their base Dex/Tech reduce amount. Increase the amount by 5 ?

Or make it to take down pure defense, but who is the problem shields and boost will became useless if they dont are trained enough.

I would say yes, but this means that like ale6300 is saying, if you smoked and your opponent put up a def matrix, then they wouldnt have any fear of being blocked, and that overpowers the shield and makes reflex boost and technician much less useful.

@ demon

Or make them over useful. Remember if smoke and malf were made to take out pure defense and resist then any class with technician and reflex boost the ability to not only increase their defense/resistance but block and deflect chance without any form of counter unless you have an azreal's borg or the aux with azreal's torment.

Then, in the same way, Reflex and Technician would have to work and get a buff (as well as Smoke and Malf). Why? Because they lose their effect of reducing these effects. For that reason, Shields grant much more Res and Def - because they get no additional bonuses to skills or deflections/blocks.

I'm confused. They don't lose anything, only changes are to Smoke Screen and Malfunction...

Why do they need a buff? You still get the benefit from Skill-boosting, and they still increase your block/deflection chance...

Explain?

Then it's kinda not fair Smoke and Malf are left weak and Reflex + Technician have much higher power. Buffers are meant to be slightly stronger than debuffers but if you take the effects from one, other will have too much power.

As I've already mentioned, losing effects will also result in higher amount of Dex and Tech to be taken away to make up for it (since it'll only reduce Res and Def but affect skills thus not a big boost).

Yea, I get what you meant, but from what I see from the quote above, you kind-of meant that Reflex and Technician will have too much power.
Here's the part that confused me :

But yea, I can agree on the part about slightly buffing the amount Malf and Smoke takes. (How does a +5 to its base amount sound?)

It'd be a small buff since it'd affect skills (but not blocks&deflections) so that could do. Apologise for the wording in the previous post, I was quite tired and was travelling whole day which has exhausted me.. >.>

Oh ok I think I understood what you meant. In simple words, a small buff to Malf and Smoke while taking away their ability to decrease block/deflection rates?

Yep. Just the amount it takes away to be higher (small buff) and forgoe affecting blocks/deflections.

Edit:
Thinking about it, buffers could work in the same way so certain builds wouldn't have the potential to abuse such skills (such as Dex abuse + Technician for TMs). So blocking and deflections would be fixed in battle at all times and fully dependant on stats + cores.
