@valkyrie: Not necessarily, against lower defense builds a single bludgeon heals 10% of their max health easily. @ED Divine Darkness: A rage bludgeon by a strength BM will heal massive amounts of HP and take away about half of a TLM's max HP. I don't see how a TLM can win unless they devise a particular counter. Energy shield is pretty useful against TMs and BMs will just bludgeon + deadly aim with blood lust for lots of HP against them. @NDB: To answer your question in the starting post, this is what I do as a CH. Maybe you can extract some ideas from it, because I can't really do that for your case unless you're the same class as me: My build is a tank focus, 5 field medic, 7 EMP, max Plasma Armor, 1 static, 3 matrix, 4 malf, 1 plasma grenade, 5 shadow. I have minimum 34 defense and 39 resistance (maximum is around 40 defense and 45 resistance). Turn 1: EMP for -44 energy Turn 2: Aux normal (Energy aux) Turn 3: Generator (+21 health, +9 energy) Turn 4: IA normal attack Turn 5: Field Medic Turn 6: Malf Turn 7: Aux Turn 8: Gun Turn 9: IA special Azrael's will definitely helps, and so does Improbability gate but you definitely don't need them to win. With this turn order I win about 70% of the time-ish...maybe a little more. If they use azrael's will then it will replace the IA normal attack. I'm using 60 support and a sword so I always go first and can EMP before they do anything too dangerous. Hopefully this helps you find the solution to your problem!
