I'll be honest, I played it once when it was first mentioned by AE and then again to get the Ten-Year Titan. So no. It doesn't have a very positive community and I die a lot. I don't know anything about the story though, so maybe that's a redeeming factor.

This is a PVP battle game which has strayed from what made it addicting and fun in the beginning...

1. I took my lumps and losses early on in beta without frustration mainly because I was working my way up.
Players that should have won usually did... no frequent surprises.
2. Now anyone can copy a build, make any and all weaps/armor just as good as my varium ones, or even buy
my varium ones for credits...this is one of the main reasons so many people left. It was stupidly unfair to
those who supported the game for so long. ED could have still left us with some varium benefit while making
all of the non-varium players more competitive, but they chose differently. The results are plain to see on
the servers every day...
3. 2v2 has always been my favorite mode and for years dev's only cared or balanced for 1v1. Still goes on today.
1v1 balance fixes have traditionally made 2v2 and jugg suffer.
4. Matchups in 2v2 are very unbalanced...might be level imbalance or player style imbalance or turn imbalance.
All of those occur every match, take alot of fun out of playing the game and make the battles feel like set-ups.
Do I really have to go last 80% of the time and not even be able to defend myself when I'm nerfed?
5. Still get way too many random "battle failed to start" messages when entering a battle.
6. Balancing battles via luck factors has caused much frustration and I can't figure out why no staff listen, or seem
to recognize the problems or overhaul the mess they have made? The game is not more challenging now...it
is simply rigged to try to make everyone 50% happy.

Things I like:
1. Being able to use founder armor again...
2. New achievement goals
3. New interesting missions

Pushing away so many great players and supporters has cost this game alot. Here's a thought...let's fix the battle
engine, balance a few things, create some point to this legion/exile war and start the recovery.

Hi guyz its me after 5 months.

Well the prediction from my friend came true..
I logged on today after 5 months and saw 368 in the server ... which before used to be full at same time months ago

I guess DEVs are also noticing their game dieing

Lack in balance
Luck factor
Lack in interaction

I want to say something to DEVs ... this game does have limits ... their are many games out their with more functional diversities
Do You Know y we used to play this game? coz of its simple pvp factor .... to challenge other player and show our skills.

So y this game is dieing .... coz there is NOTHING about SKILL anymore:
Build copy
Luck sack
Balance

This is a PvP game and its your responsibility to to solve this issue
First solve this issues then introduce new events, bosses etc etc

Nope....

I feel quite pathetic while playing ED ....

This game became sooo boring, always facing same people, no buddys active, empty servers...

Meh, I hope this changes quickly

The game has serious problems which had led to a massive player exodus.

- No balance updates (especially BM OPed since many months)
- OPed Azrael weapons, especially gun
- Balance calls get ignored by the staff
- Empty servers with long waiting time for random duels
- Massive lag at only 250-320 players
- This had led to a mostly agressive and depressive atmosphere in duels
- No chance to switch cores and weapons/armors easily. It does cost tons of credits/varium to do so

It used to be , but now that fun just vanished like thin air ( playing for 2+ years with the same luck , can you believe that ? ) after Omega was immediately released ( with no good excuse of why too early either ) . I guess it's just because many new players went all crazy and started to let that craze take them over to suggest silly things ( c0D3z plzzz , more items for me !! , etc , ZOMG remove passives from TLM , etc ) and the Devs still prefer to listen these than the improvements on the essentials ( balance , good progression experience , balance ) ??? Not ranting at all , just stating why i lost the hype on this game .

Couldn't agree more. Going into every battle is like walking into an execution chamber. Players are unfriendly, aggressive and often hurl abuse. Antagonistic behaviour is so common amongst players that even today, I got accused by another level 35 of using a hack to prevent blocks.

So many players expect to get lucky every turn, and when they don't, or when others get a slight bit of luck, they turn into frenzied, animalistic creatures. It's a pretty shameful attitude if you ask me. Honestly, the game has deteriorated so badly that it countless long-time players have left without even thinking twice.

I believe the developers are doing their best, and I still think this game has potential. However, it is the typical antagonistic players' attitudes which are destroying the game.

@ Jekyll I've noticed that too. We've always had some degree of it in the game since the beginning, but its definitely increased more lately. We've talked about it several times and are not sure what a good solution would be to it. Its also running rampant in general on the internet in places like youtube etc. and in several other games we've played. For the most part I've been just ignoring this kind of behavior. Which isn't really isn't ideal either. Almost every match I get called a noob on my alt or something worse. :| I'm sure you've heard them all like we have. One thing we can do is turn off chat... well thats not fair to all the players and that hurts the game overall. Second is putting in a voting system to allow players vote to voice mute. But that would almost definitely get abused too. Right now we just dont have any good solutions for it. When its become a cultural thing on the internet to do, its hard to change social norms. Microsoft and Google are trying to do more about online bullying etc in their more recent press documents. But first the culture on the internet needs to start changing. It has to be a non cool thing to do, and you have to realize that they are trying to get a rise out of you. Its still no fun, but getting mad at the other person is what fuels the fire.

Its a topic we bring up a lot, I'm glad you noticed it as one of the issues, and its one we talk pretty seriously too. Its definitely no fun and creates a very toxic environment to play in. Which I can very much sympathize with.

Hm. Wouldn't it be possible to turn the chat for your opponent whilst in battle? So you could still communicate with your Ally (if you tick the box), but otherwise you wouldn't be able to see your opponent's messages nor send them any? In other words, it'd be a custom mute with an option to chat with your ally. If you don't want it, untick it and put up with the abuse. The idea may not be perfect but a band-aid could be better than nothing at all.

Permanent solution won't ever be found - it's a common problem. You've covered it pretty well in your post, Char.

hmm not a bad idea there Trans. Would cut down on the stress. I know text and chat is difficult to control in flash. Might be a away to implement. Definitely look into it though. Not sure what technical difficulties are there though :D

@charfade

I can appreciate the attempt to add to the conversation...but aggressive, poor behavior is also a
result of your plan to balance through win% and use of luck to make sure it happens.

What do you think happens to a kid when he can come in with no real investment in this game,
little experience, copy some build, and pwn some top level players who have been around for a
long time? Do think they get a big head and become more aggressive and derrogatory in their
comments? You betcha... I consider myself a good 2v2 partner and team player, but the game
now causes my play to be ineffective alot of the time and incredibly pathetic on occasion. Add
some immaturity to the mix...and bingo.

The game makes fools of us all now more than it should in a million small ways...and we all notice it.
It's very simple really...people eventually get fed up.

Fix the mechanics (root cause) of the game and behavior will improve.

Thanks for your understanding, Charfade.

Would you consider switching off chat in battle, but leaving it on in out-of-game scenarios and private chats? I believe people who insult others will not bother to take the extra step and do it via private mail, they just take advantage of the convenient in-game chat system. This might also solve the problem some people have with 'f4f'.

This has been suggested for 2 years already - including by myself.

Having you notice it just now it means that maybe in 2 years from now you might figure out more problems that the game faces now, in September 2013.

I find it boring, perhaps because I've grown since I started, maybe because I've played too much and partially because the game has changed, for the worse in my opinion. Why do I still come on the forums every now and then? To keep in touch with old friends and to see if there's anything new to motivate me to play!

Although, I have to say, in my 'peak' in ED, I really enjoyed it and this game has given me some great memories in life, when everything else seemed more grim. :)

@Drianx, I'm sorry you feel that way. A lot can change in 2 years. We didn't have omega and the way things are coded now have changed. Its always good to go back and look at old suggestions when before they might not have been possible due to some sort of restriction. Its may be still not possible honestly. I dont know. Like I said before, Flash is horrible when it comes to controlling text and chat. Also you have to realize that implementing suggestions is also like picking out of a hat filled with dozens of really good ideas. When you can only chose 10 tasks out of a hat filled with over 1,000 good ideas due to the time it takes to complete them in a week, you have to be careful and over critical on which ones you chose.

Still though I think this solution is a band aid for a much bigger issue that's occurring.

@Charfade: I respect your constructive and non-combat approach.
However, band aid or not, there hasn't been any better suggestion to the player chat rudeness problem.

I joined ED back when it was about in its Alpha/Beta stages.

It was fun except for there being pretty much only PvP to get any rewards (that was at the time and as far as I can recall).

After rebooting my career, I find it to be quite fun!

Minus the toxic community in-game.

IMO the first task I would specify on would be balance so the classes are roughly balanced.
Then, I would then look at the specific cores and how they affect other gameplay situations, not just 1vs1.

For example, the Azrael gun is WAY more powerful in 2vs2 and Jugg than 1vs1 and imagine it next year when everyone can have it.
Also skills such as stun grenade or Multi which is less of an issue but still a problem--Some multis are just useless for 2vs2 at high levels (say Bounty Hunter)
Then I would have newer levels etc, but right now its balance>new items/content (ie. Dread War).

I do wish they'd get rid of this luck system. Or at least narrow it... This game has potential, and that's what brings me back. Not because I find it fun right now, but because I hope the mods and devs will fix it. We as players gotta have faith in them. Even when their systems are in the slumps. They tried to make the systems with their best interests, but now its failed. Time to fix it though. I trust the devs will make this game the once great game it was again, its only a matter of time...

After delta, I had no fun. Omega destroys everything.

1. No balance (And is being ignored by the devs)
2. Too much luck that ruins the game
3. BM OPed for a long time
4. Azrael's will is too OP
5. Cores cost much and it deletes the other one when you replace it.
6. Any regular weapons can be as "Stong" as "Varium" weapons.
7. Any one can buy varium weapons with credits (and I think this will lessen the players to buy Varium coz they can just save credits to buy except if they want the new package)
8. Stat abusing.
9. Trash talking.
10. Unfair battles (especiall on 2v2)

These are all I have noticed since OMEGA came... Last time when I checked again after months there were like 300-400 players on one server, unlike when it was Gamma/Delta, there are 2-3 servers open and sometimes full. This also made me think to quit since all newbies can get the items with credits which is unfair for me (or maybe most people) that bought varium.

If these are not fixed, this game will slowly die.

ahh 2v2 was fun back in beta and gamma. i still like 2v2 and still wil be my fav battle mode in ED.BUt now 2v2 is...the worse mode to play in cause if ya get a partner with nothing but basic wep which is full enh in random stats you are basically dead. 2v2 balance was bad during beta but not as bad as now. i know the devs are trying their best to fix stuff. i been waiting for months and yet nothing much changed apart from 2v2 wait time being hmm...significantly longer and worst match ups. kudos the the devs in making a good mission system. it is kinda helpful but still it is useless IMHO to new players cause they can just choose to ignore these mission. ED really needs a better tutorial system. i know that the current mission system is the so called tutorial for the game but i think it is not enuf. ok back to topic i guess

whats fun about ed:
1) 2v2
2) 2v2
3 2v2
4)1v1
5) npc
6) grinding and farming
7) making a new file and playing it to lvl 20+
8) use a *cough* unique build and play the game with the *cough* unique build until max lvl
9) playing ed with a set of rules. say u can oly put 1 stat in every stat when u lvl up, no putting any other stat but energy and many more weird stuffy u can do with a smurf.
10) copy a the build of the first person u battle when u start a game and click 1v1.
11)lvling up
12)doing missions
13)talking to friends which are online.

what i want in ed:

1) a solid/better tutorial
2) a system preventing a player from entering a PVP battle if he/she does not have all weps equipped(zooka, gun, primary and armor). by doing this players will learn the value of having all weps.
3) balance 2v2 system. by implementing 2) 2v2 should be a little better.
4) non promo varium weps, the value of varium has dropped 10k var used to be enuf to last a few months but now it is just useless. IMHO.

All you see are 82 str BMs and class-hopping Tech Mercs.

It's soooo tedious, don't you know.
