And if so, could someone provide me a link to the details regarding application. I remember that an essay was required.

I do not believe The Debate club exists any longer I'm afraid.

Having said that however, someone HAS made a sort of Debate Game in the Forum Games section to take it's place, though I'm not sure of the rules: http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=21463398

As an addendum to megakyle's post... if I'm recalling correctly the old Debate section of the forum was taken down because people simply didn't use it anymore. Some forum users were still interested in it but there wasn't enough people (barely even 10) to keep it around then.

 Womba is correct. We gave the Debate Club every chance to succeed, brought it back twice, and even hosted formal debate. Despite our best efforts, in the end it died due to lack of interest. It's a failure I kind of take personally, as I was very supportive about giving it another chance. I'm sorry to say I won't be championing that cause again.

All right, cheers for the replies. I was interested in joining now as I'm starting Law at university next year, but I'm sure that I can hone my debating skills in some other way :P.
