As the title says, when do you think Epicduel peaked in quality?

I personally think ED was at its best right at the end of Beta and beginning of Gamma. I think the game has declined from there. All of my friends from back in day have either left or were banned. I'm pretty sure I knew Practel from somewhere also, his promotion to mod really surprised me.

So, what are your thoughts on ED's peak? Your general start date of playing would be good, so I/we can know what you're judging your opinion based on.

If I remember correctly, we often had 2 servers open during Gamma.

Once the level cap was increased during the infernal war. That was some fun times.

The game peaked in terms of fun in beta hands down.

But varium players never needed an advantage to be fun, that is the only advantage omega has over beta bt technically its not really the case, because the varium power is not through broken promos.

^ You do realize that promos are there for the advantage right? It's smaller in OMEGA now compared to before.
Nobody will buy a promo if it is not useful or unique. (Ex. Botanical Armor - useless promo/ nobody buy)

^ Yeh that's fine I agree.

Just the could do with not releasing completely overpowered broken excuses for weapons.

I have to agree with Chosen when the infernal war was around.

That war there were 2 full servers each day, and the 3 and sometimes 4th servers were open.

If you really believed in this game then you would say that its going to peak in the future...

6-9 hours ago there was only 285-290 people on the only open server.
Often took 10 or more seconds to find a 1vs1 match. No 2vs2 or Jugg possible.

Infernal war was hands down the most fun I ever had in this game. Its was fun before, and still is now, but man that war was good. Random whether you got 1v1 or 2v2, so you had to build for a wide variety of situations, made things interesting IMO. And the npc's jumping in if it took too long to find a battle was WAY better than just increasing the level spread like they did in Omega.

no but i can argue with statistics and probability which would be the terms you're looking for, as that is just a percent of people online at a certain time lately and making an inference off of it, while it may hold true the opposite could likewise hold truth

@Altador987

Can you please tell us how long you've been playing? Because the players that have been here for awhile (beta, gamma, maybe even the middle of delta) should know that Epicduel is definitely not as good as it used to be. I agree with Thylek Shran and Remorse because I think the number of players are a perfect indicator of Epic duel's future. Even back in beta there were usually around 1000-1500 players most of the time. During the Infernal War, there were about 2000-2500 players at all times. These days, it dips to around 300 players practically everyday around 12 am server time, and the numbers are probably only going to drop. Most of the best players in the game have mostly all quite. Epic duel's peak will likely not be in the near future, because they need a lot of recovery from the vast amount of players lost from the start of Omega. From what I've seen, people have only been complaining about things and talking about Epicduels decline ever since Omega started, so its not a surprise to the low numbers these days.

Epicduel's peak was definitely in Delta, particularly the Infernal War and a few months afterwards. It will not hit a new peak in the near future, or even ever, if you ask me.

how long i've been here or whether you're a veteran or not is rather irrelevant and childish to assume that proves someone's opinion...

I was only asking this because Shadowwrath, the thread starter asked for this so we know what your basing your opinion on.

I can see you're trying to be optimistic about Epicduel's future, but I really feel this this is getting too old. We've all been hoping that someday things will turn around and Epicduel will be good to play again. But its been nearly a year of hoping for this day ever since Omega ruined the game, and things are not getting much better. Also, to make your opinion more clear in your first post, can you tell us what you meant by " if they continue in the direction they're going"?

Altador, I asked in my original post what general time you started because based on when we start we may have vastly different opinions on what the best time of ED was. If I started in Delta, I would have a completely different view as compared to starting in Beta, or even Alpha.

I'm not judging, just wondering.

I created my first character in late Gama; back then when I played there were at least 1k people online, Infernal War had around 3k I guess. Omega needed to happen in order to get with ED somewhere (different, better, worse?) but that botched phase start nearly killed this game. I think that Omega is on par possibly better than Delta as of this Friday, so there is hope for another peak in the future.

@Shadow i understand my comment really wasn't to you or the request i had to look up when i'd made my first acc (i dont really keep tabs on things like that i just play) i also wasn't accusing you of anything so my apologies if that's what my message conveyed, i understand the reasoning as well, simply put some responses weren't concerned with said reasoning

Hello, I'm going to be respectful and post in response to the OP instead of making childish and nonsensical arguments.

I agree that ED peaked in beta because that is when it had the most potential. Things were not perfect, but the game seemed to be headed in a good direction...Gamma presented many new small gameplay mechanics, which was a good thing--but the developers did not expand on these mechanics, and began to increase their content related released. Early Delta was a very hard time for EpicDuel due to the new classes (balance problems), and the lack of new gameplay releases. Like others have said, late Delta, especially the Infernal War, revitalized a lot of my hope for the game, since the developers had found a sweet spot for the new war mechanic, and a new AI system meant build diversity/variety in battle. Unfortunately this was an anomaly (or so it seems). Now here we are in Omega, and while one major issue with the game was fixed (p2W), the Omega update exploited many of the weaknesses of Delta (esp. balance), leaving us in our current state. I'm not even sure why this Dread War mechanic was used, when the Infernal war worked so well. Eh, I've moved to greener pastures.

My two cents.

The past doesn't matter. What matter for TItan is the now the present.
When did ED Peak? It hasn't peaked. Because Titan is still developing the game and perfecting it. It will peak, when it peaks,
when it's ready o'clock, it peaks when it peaks, simple as that.
