Problems with both classes boil down to energy. I think that a simple fix would be to swap these two classes energy drainers. It would synergize nicely with each class too. Energy parasite has requirements in support, and assimilation has requirements and improves with str. This would be an excellent way to balance the two classes out as far as I can tell.

Yes I know, I'm implying that it'd be fixed when it is given to techs. But think about it, it'd be the perfect swap. Energy parasite (before it was bugged) wasn't returning energy quickly enough for BMs when they use it, and over energy control is a problem for techs. Techs often have to strategize when to use their battery because it usually gets drained often, if they had a parasite, they could apply it to their enemy before they use battery, that way if they do get drained, they will instantly begin draining the enemy and regaining their stolen energy. And for BMs, they'd be gaining energy quickly and draining the enemy at the same time. Tech mage also has 6 skills that require a staff, while blood mage only has 4. If the energy moves were swapped, they would both have 5. It is a win win for both classes, while balancing them.

parasite is a regenration skill while assim is a draining skill.

this doesn't make any sense , bms will have a very weak energy regain while tm will have an overflow of energy.

This wouldn't help BM at all.

Having Assimation wouldn't help them since even with tech mage at the most it gives back 110 with is equal to 11 energy unless you are really spamming strength. For this to even have some chance of working you would have to swap the percent of what drain with the moves as well.

Meaning BM would get back 150% of the energy they drain with Assimilation, and TM would only get 50% of what they drain with energy parasite. Otherwise BM will still be in the same boat where as TM would have a constant overflow of energy.

it can't get to 150% just 100% , remember that 25 energy drained at normal str use means that even 100% regain look rediclous as it also attacks when compared to something like static smash.

the whole idea is flawed.

If that is the case then energy parasite itself is flawed since it works the same way since when it drains 22 the user of the drain gets 33 which is 150%

due to it being based of enemy's energy and the need of 3 turns to take the full effect , it doesn't go higher than 25 regain after 3 turns before the update.

while here we are talking about a stable at once regain , its different.

If assimilation was given to BMs, then it should be put back on 100% energy return from the drain, for making up for the lower drain then other classes.

And it'd make a Staff pretty much a must to use, for BMs. Something that classes shouldn't be forced to for sake of one move - Static Smash bugs me, for this very reason, although Mercs only have 2 weapon-specific skills to compensate for it.

If that's so, then you should not like assimilation period. But currently, tech Mage has 6 staff skills while blood Mage has 4. Giving them assimilation would give them both 5.

Uh... TMs have 4 Staff skills (Bolt, Overload, Super Charge and Assimilation) and BMs have 3 Staff skills (Fireball, Overload, Super Charge). Where did you get six from?

trippy but ill support since this is the only page with support.
i started 3 tech mage accounts because nothing is being done to improve other classes. blood mage class is varium so it should higher quality so don't be afraid to give good stuff to blood mages?
its evolution makes host better, more destructive, complex, tactical, unmatched by tech mage the ower class. evolution give the host whats necessary to conquer challenges its has fought. they can't master their own mana not to mention that it fuel most of greedy skills blood mages need. so why lose the most efficient energy skills when you need it more than ever. leach was good move because it drives the enemy to melee. it needs to become less nurfed after all look at tech mages they are making their skills work together in harmony.
i will call blood mage class an adapted class because it adapted to giving major punishment. but in reality it does not survive well in battle and live up to its reputation for what its said.
your going to let the unevolved mages beat by lower class. so i'm going to take a week long break :)).

When they say they are evolved classes, it means they evolved because they were classes just placed in different then their normal roles. Blood mages for example, were specifically bred vicious genetically engineered soldiers/torturers of Baeleas.

Energy parasite doesn't exactly encourage enemies to strike though, but rather make them want to drain their energy as fast as possible.

The drain is pretty low and so is the regain, you have to admit. It's like this on tech mages because they already have another energy skill. Maybe turn the energy return back to 100%. Energy parasite would be much more strategic on tech mages anyways. And BMs need a quicker energy return skill. Techs however, could use energy parasite more strategically, as they already drain and get drained and battery constantly.

Perhaps BM should have Energy Parasite replaced for Assimilation or Battery Backup :)
