Here's my say on some of the things stated here. To start, I'll quote Eukara Vox's comment on a thread regarding the future of AE Games: quote:
There is a reason some staff seem to be dedicated to certain games. Our styles are all very different. Switching between games is not easy. I work on both DF and AQ, and they are not the same thing. I had to "relearn" script writing for DF because they do things differently, they also work on a different timeline. The personality of games and their staff are pretty consistent. Even though I worked on AQW for a short time to help them out, I don't think I have the personality to work on it week after week after week. Different ways of putting things together, different art, different goals. Short spurts, yes. Long term? Not sure. Asking people to relearn how things are done is difficult. There is a reason some games have people who only work on that game. They are the perfect fit. I mean, I respect the ED staff, but I would never be able to fit in with their style and vision. As much as OS may be fun, not sure I would fit there either. - The Future of AE Games Like Eukara explained above, staff changes aren't as easy as transferring someone to another department. It's a completely separate realm. If you still enjoy the thrill and fun of capturing rare monsters, gearing up your characters, and PvPing, then it's not going to get any better than OverSoul - heck, I'm still looking for Time Gentlemen and I actually have fun while doing it. And if you don't exactly like the game or where it's going, you can't necessarily force other players to stop playing; like I saw earlier happen. The game does get consistent updates, so there's never been a situation where Nulgath has "abandoned" or simply forgotten about the development of the game. As long as you don't abandon the game the developers can't either.
