ED failed at the beginning when it created a game that "Balance" was an essential requirement. Sadly fun and balance are not the same things, and in my opinion fun is more important than balance when it comes to a game. Although the idea of fun can be different for many players, fun can range from clutching a win due to skill/experience to doing ridiculous amount of damage. For a game like this fun is at the expense of balance, if a playing is having fun at the expense of another player due to the game not being balanced then it would make perfect sense for players to request nerfs. Take for example, the introduction of TLM, the class had the most mouth watery skill tree you can imagine; yes it would be fun to play with that class, but not fun to the player that's playing against the TLM. Sadly to say, the quest to balance the game trashed the fun aspect of it. Most of the nerfs were justified I.e Azreal gun/bazooka core, High strength massacre builds, Oped 5 focus builds that forced 90 percent of the players to become robot users. Most of the things nerfed were game breaking, just like legendary rank that not breaks the game but also changes to mentality of the game into an "infinite grind no hope of reach a destination." A fun game should cater to all factions of its fan base: example of fan base.... *People that play games for its competitive nature, the have fun if this need is satisfied( This player base was destroyed when win ratios/ loses were removed) #Can be fixed by introducing hourly leader board *People that play a game to be entertained. # Sadly this game has turned into an endless grind *People that play a game to relief stress and get away from the real world #Due to lack of balance this game is very stressful and the constant changes the devs makes that seem to make little sense. *People that play a game to attain the highest level #This might seem weird but is true, getting to the highest level of a game is one of the biggest accomplishments of a game.Introduction of Legendary rank takes that away, it takes away the mentality that "one day I will attain the highest level of the game possible." The introduction of Legendary rank does nothing but discourages the majority of the player base that's not hardcore players! Hardcore players of this game should not be satisfied at the expense of its causal players.
