The first thing you want to do is create an account. To create an account, simply click on the "Create a free Account" button on the play-now page. In the landing, you have one of four options. You may choose either Warrior, Mage, Rogue, or Healer. These are the four starting classes that every player starts off with. Next you will choose the gender of your player and their physical options. Once you are happy with your player, you can click "Create". In the new page, you will choose the name of your player. Names must start with a letter, contain only letters, numbers, single spaces, or single underscores. Must be between 4 and 21 total long. Next you must create your password. Try to make it as secure as possible, you wouldn't want to have your account stolen. Enter a valid e-mail that you have access to. Select the month, day, and year you were born with. Caution: You may only talk on servers if you are either 13 years old, or if you buy a membership. Accept the terms of use and create your account. An e-mail will be sent to you to confirm you own your character.

After you log on, you will asked to complete a short tutorial. The tutorial should take you to at least level 7 and rank 4 of the class you chose. After completing the guide, you will be sent to Battleon, your permanent spawn point. In Battleon, you will always have at least 4 NPCs (Non-Playable-Characters). Starting from the left-right we have Cleric Joy, Twilly the Helpful Moglin, the NPC for the current event that week, and Ragnar the Member Shop Vendor. You don't need to worry too much about Ragnar, since you aren't a member yet. Cleric Joy and Twilly offer several quests that will surly reward you great items and XP. In Battleon, you will have the Game Menu to your right. The Game Menu gives you shortcuts to maps, shops, and more. If you go to the right part of Battleon, you will be sent to the Nexus. The Nexus has several member only portals to member only maps. If you go to the top part of Battleon, you will be sent to the second screen of Battleon, which will almost always have an NPC. Later on the story line, you will have a permanent NPC in screen two. If you contiune up the 2nd screen, you will be sent to the town. You can explore the town on your own time, but the only places that are very important are as follows: Yulgar's Inn, and the Bank. Yulgar's inn is a map that allows you to change the physical appearance of your character, such as eye color and skin color. In the bank, you may store the items you no longer need in your inventory. If the item is adventure coin tagged, it can be stored for free. Other than that, you must buy bank spaces.

Game Features

On the bottom of the game screen, you will find a narrow tool bar. Starting from left-right are the message related options. The first button hides the chat box. The second button is used to make your chat box larger or make your chat box smaller. The third option is the canned-chat tab. You can use this tab to send quick messages/commands. It is also mandatory to use if you want to talk in a no chat server, you are muted, or you have not verified your account. Next is the chat box. Type something in and hit your "Enter" button or click on the "Send" button in game. In the middle of the tool bar is the skill bar. You can either click on these skills while in a battle, or use your 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 hotkeys on your physical keyboard. The first 2 skills will be unlocked when you purchase a class. As you fight, you gain class points, which will promote you to the next rank of your class if hit 100%. To unlock all of your skills, you must be level 5 (excluding No Class). The first skill is on every class, and it's called "Auto attack". You can double click an enemy to fight them, or click 1 of you are very close to them. The sixth skill is a spot to put potions or spells. they can either be rewarded from a few quest, or bought from potion shops. The most common potion shop is in /arcangrove, and is vended by "Reens". Continuing down the tool bar is rest button. Click on this button to rest. It's the little red/blue heart if you didn't see. Next is the "Your Hero" tab. This tab gives you access to your character page, Guild panel, Friend panel, stats, and reputations. The next button opens the quest tab. It gives you access to the quest you are fighting to finish, and your temporary inventory. The next buttons are the map, your home, the book of lore, setting panel, game menu, and of course, your inventory. You may have noticed two little bars beneath your tool bar. The one on the left represents your class points, and the one on the right represents your XP (level).

Commands you SHOULD know:
/join <location name>: Takes you to the desired location
/join <location name>-<room number>: You can join
/goto <character name>:
/w <player's name>:
<player's name> > (Used to message people with spaces in their names)

If you click on another player, their "player box" will pop up at the top left of your screen. Clicking on the player box opens a tab of things you can do to this player, such as requesting friendship or private messaging them.

All Commands in AQW

Rules

I can't stress this enough, NEVER GIVE AWAY YOUR ACCOUNT PASSWORD. Moderators will never ask for your password, if someone does ask for it, REPORT THEM IMMEDIATELY.

Swearing will result in a mute.

Botting/Cheating/Hacking will result into a ban.

Harassing others will result in a mute or ban.

Phishing will result in a perm ban.

Shops

Shops are also very important, they are the places where you buy stuff. Items can be either freeplayer (available to you :]), AC (Bought with coins from the real world), Legend only (membership required to purchase), or a mix of two (excluding freeplayer+legend only). Most items can be bought with gold. Gold can be earned through killing monsters, turning in quest, selling other items, or by verifying your account (one time deal). ACs can be earned through hard earned money, watching ballyhoo ads, completing AExtra offers (13+), AQWorlds battle bar (has a daily limit and knows if you are just trying to farm ACs), and by selling other AC items. Legend items can only be purchased if you have an AQW membership.

Membership

Membership gives you access to 3,000+ Legend-only PETS, WEAPONS & ITEMS, exclusive areas, stories and boss battles, creating guilds, special emotes, 2 free keys a month, Dual Wield, Unlock Chat, and much more! If you purchase membership within 72 hours of account creation, you will become a dragon hero :). Membership can be bought by clicking the "Upgrade" button at the bottom of your play-now screen.

Chaos

The Chaos saga is the first saga in AQWorlds. To start it, simply press the book of lore (bottom right of your screen, it's a shiny little book. You won't miss it) and clicking Chaos. In the page, you should start off with the first chaos story line, The Undead Invasion. Once you complete the story, now you may begin the Chiral Valley. As you finish a story line, your level will increase and you will learn many things. If you are ever having problem with a story line, you can read the guides in the Lorepdeia or watch videos on YouTube.

Here are the links to the guides for the chaos saga:

Swordhaven Undead Recommended level: 5+

Chiral Valley Recommended level: 8+

Dwarfhold Recommended level: 18+

I have made the Recommended levels for the each story line. On the map in-game the level requirements are different, which means I created the Recommended level. Thank you to the Lorepedia team for creating the guides. Another very useful site is the AQWWiki.

Please take a look at other guides about guilds and other game features, as this is just a little summary of what you should know to start AQW.

You've made a good start to this guide, but unfortunately I'm going to have to lock this as the subject of the guide is just not unique enough. The majority of the information here already falls under the How to Play! guide, which you are welcome to suggest additions/changes to if you feel part of it needs expanding. The Membership and Chaos sections are also already covered by the Storyline Walkthrough guide and Legend's Guide to AdventureQuest Worlds.

Feel free to PM me if you wish to discuss this further.
