Curious indeed. I had a feeling that it might start fill up at a steady pace, showing us our deadline but now I'm not so sure. We might be staying in the dark.


That or we have LOADS of time, so it looks like the hourglass hasn't been filled at all. Heh?

First of all great storyline/war so far. Congrats Verlyrus Dove. Truth be told i was sick from the wars but this twist made it so much more interesting. I hope we can get more wars like this in the future.

I really like Remthalas he's mysterious interesting villain but what he did with Mr Nameless was horrible. I mean yeah the guy was a psychopath teddy bear but all he needed was some (cheesy) love. Not wanting to throw shade but if Xan or Seppy could get a 2nd chance, why not a psychopath teddy bear. RIP MR TWINKLES.
Nice twist though. I really like this Maleurous storyline so far. In fact i like it much better than the main storyline LOL.
Anyway i'm suspicious about this war. Remthalas meant free as killing so that fact he told us to hurry to reach Sally on time to make her free makes me nervous.
This war pretty much is in a kind of dream state. What if Remthalas tricked us and finishing the war actually does more bad than good? What if Remthalas never intended to free Sally but rather "free" her as killing her. I know it's dark but DF occasionally had dark themed storyline.
Or what if while we think we are fighting against waves of monsters in reality we are fighting against Yeti and the moglins and destroying Frostvale. Remthalas was a devotee of Kathool so mind trick is guaranteed when he's around.
Remthalas is an excellent DF villain. He's interesting, mysterious. I really, really hope he doesn't die in this war. We barely know him, his motive.

Had to admit i feel bad for the Maleurous "villains" so far. Sinnocence wasn't really bad, in fact he barely had even free will. Mr Nameless was pretty much just lonely and bitter. So if we go with this theme i wonder if Remthalas has a good reason why he's doing what he's doing.

Also, Verly posted an update on twitter: the war meter should be filling properly.

I believe it was stated somewhere on Discord that the war counter is still filling up based on waves defeated, rather than on a time limit, but it feels odd to me to be told that we have until the last grain of sand falls, and then to be fighting to FILL said hourglass.

That said, I'm not sure we should trust Remthalas.... what do people think?

Dropped my unofficial deadline because with the total waves I'm assuming, it just seemed a tad impractical! With luck as the war meter fills up we'll have a bit better of an understanding if the numbers are right.

Did you guys notice the message "What if this isn't the right thing to do?" that sometimes appears at the end of a wave? https://i.imgur.com/BVwHsIs.png

That and Dove's tweets about going "so fast" and being able to "take your time" suggest that some deeper trickery may be involved in this war...which is related to not actually fighting the waves?

@GLaDOS: Well considering the consequences of the last war we lost was literally the death of an NPC, I'll take my chances.

Although, that would be cheeky of Tomix/Dove, to be honest.

Though more likely, I feel like it's Remthalas' way of trying to throw us off.
