Chibi-Galanoth

Earth pet
1 hit of Melee damage

Trigger: "drag", "drakel","wyvern" - 2 Hits at 27.5% damage (For a total of 110% at 200% resistance), excepting Void Dragons, who still take earth damage at the 27.5% rate

Appearance: A smaller, cuter looking version of Galanoth

Descrption: This "voodoo" doll was made by a dragon who miraculously survived an encounter with Galanoth. Having suffered yearsof abuse, the doll came alive and chose to take up the same profession as the original. Complete with mini Dragon Blade and kung fu grip!

Safiria Bodypillow

neutral Misc

Effect: Increases the power of Vampiric abilities ?% at the cost of ?? HP.

Description: A hugibly soft bodypillow printed with the beloved Vampire Queen's image. WARNING: Any attempt to hug the actual Queen Safiria may cause severe blood loss, being caught with this item may result in the same.

Note: This could be a good idea for an actual piece of AE merchandise. If it works for Anime, why not other media?

Snakinator

Light pet

Effect:
  • 70% - Attacks enemy for 110% Light damage
  • 16% - Attacks both Player 5% damage and Enemy 65%*
  • 11% - Attacks only the player for 20%damage**
  • 3% - Does nothing.***

    Bubble Statement
*= *HISS* ERROR: UNKNOWN TARGETS *HISS*
**= *HISS* TARGET "MORTY" AQUIRED *HISS*
***= *HISS* ERROR! ERROR! UNKNOWN REALITY *HISS*

Appearance: A battered mechanical snake with glowing red eyes and a blond flat top buzz cut.

Descrption: This weird mechanical snake appeared in Victor's workshop one day out of nowhere. Obviously from some other reality, the device was broken and had parts missing. After some tinkering he managed to get it to work...mostly.

Chibi Galanoth: Simple concept which would work well, but is overpowered given void resistance being set at 200%. Maybe just extra damage or a lesser element seek would be better?

Safiria Body pillow: I presume that by vampiric items, you mean those that damage your foe and heal you proportionately? If so, this seems a little self-defeating. I mean, you're paying HP... to ultimately heal more HP. Not sure that'll pass. Maybe an SP cost instead? Or, with mastercraft bonus to boost them for free by ~10%?

Snakinator: Interesting concept to take an HP cost and inaction compensation into account. Any figures to put to that? Assuming it's worth 40% melee at level 150, that's a 25% chance to deal 349*0.4 = 139.6HP damage, which is quite a considerable cost, especially when it doesn't act 10% of the time.

@CH4OT1C! Thnx for criticism.

1. I've updated Chibi Galanoth, I based the original #s on the Dragon Blade.

2. I was meaning the Vampire sub-race abilities, I'll clarify that.

3. I have 0 idea for figures, I simply had a concept. Though, looking again, I'll adjust the %'s.

To put a bit more context to my thoughts:
- Triggers are typically worth up to 115% damage. Void damage is 200% because void resistances of the player and most monsters are set to 200%. It's not really realistic to suggest that on a pet. You can probably get away with fake void (set to 120%) assuming you take a damage penalty and use MC, and have no additional damage boost though
- Gotcha with the vampiric abilities. That makes a lot more sense. How big a boost were you thinking?
- I wasn't thinking anything specific, my concern is just that 139hp can be a big risk if it's happening 25% of the time. It's worth considering that kind of cost with the results, as it seriously affect how people may use the item in battle (or indeed, if they choose to use it in battle!)

Fake void?

Also, the numbers are by no means my strong suit. I take hour(s) to plan a D&D char.

For the vamp abilities, I'd scale it all the way up to a 20% boost, same intervals as the armors too. If they REALLY wanted to get into it, scale it by race lvl

Another thought, for Snakinator, can reduce the damage the same level as say, being poisoned. For both parties, when the "errors" occur.

There is no problem in not providing exact numbers if one doesn't know the balance standards, although relative numbers are useful to keep the flavor as close to what's on your mind, if a suggestion is truly inspirational to the Devs, they will be able to calculate the undefined numbers themselves.

Juvenile Void Dragon was a GGB pet that was Void element, it simply receives *.5 due to Void being 200% on top of other penalties.
Standard triggers are worth 10%, its only the elemental Dragonblades that have both element and dragon type triggers that give it an extra 5%.

Snakinator's Attacks can use some relative numbers as that would give Devs a foundation to structure the damage ratios of each attack. Leaving one unstated gives breathing room to keep the final product original to the suggestion, as without knowledge of balance, having three values all stated could produce an imbalance, which leads to balance tweaking that will deviate from your numbers.

There is also no need to shy away from equipment that has a chance to harm the player to provide a boost against the enemy, there are existing pets such as Peace Zard, Controlled Platopulse and Chiaro Symbiote.

I recommend checking out existing equipment before making a suggestion to try not to overlap in both effect and element, my equipment listing guides in Pending Guides contain links to items that have not been entered into the outdated Encyclopedia yet.

I updated the entries. I thought more about the amusement value of the concepts than the utility. Blame Mookie Twilly, the "Blue Box" and especially Doctor When.

1. I added some relative percentages to Snakinator's attacks.

2. I tweaked Chibi Galanoth's Void Boost down to him doing 27.5% damage per hit, thus reducing his total damage to 110% when 200% Void Resistance factored in.

3. I have nothing as far as a ratio to balance % skill boost to #hp consumed. That involves mechanic I'm not sure about, and also involves HOW it would be implimented.

I just visited Zorbak's hideout and had a thought. Zorbak says he won't let you just leave, but if you do push the "Back to Town" button, you do just leave.

Instead, maybe give Zorbak a quick line like: "I told you I wouldn't let you just leave. Whatever. I'll let you go this time, but NEXT time you won't be so lucky."

Or something like that.
