This can't be true. For me on 100% resistances it has hit 31 and max seems to be below 40. I'll be working on it.
Also, I don't know if it needs to be mentioned, but the MP draining attack won't occur if enemy has 0 MP already.

EDIT: Max so far 38. Without stats it's 35.
EDIT: Lowest hit so far 31.
EDIT: Max so far 39, without stats 36.
So far it seems to be 31-36.

Right. That's why the entry says "If all three hits connect..." ~In Media Res

The Brain Spider guests are a bit complex ... let's see if I can explain them decently.

Summon Black Widow Brain Spider - Black Widow Brain Spider Guest
When the Brain Spider does not have any webbing on the enemy, it will attempt to web the enemy (Attack 1). When there IS webbing on the enemy, it will just attack (Attack 2).
Each round the Brain Spider does not web the enemy, the enemy shakes off one strand of webbing (minimum 0 strands).

Attack 1
Hits: 1
Attack Type: Ranged
Element: Darkness
Damage: 10-42
BtH: +20
Special: Adds 3 strands of webbing if it connects. When a monster is webbed, it loses 4 BtH per strand of webbing. This BtH is returned as the monster shakes off the webbing.

Attack 2:
Hits: 3
Attack Type: Melee/Melee/Magic
Damage: 6-26/6-26/3-19 (before modifiers from eating opponent's INT)
BtH: +8/+8/+10
Special: If the last hit connects, the Black Widow Brain Spider will eat some of your opponent's brain. Each time this happens, the opponent loses 4 INT and the damage on this attack increases by 16% of the original attack power. The Black Widow Brain Spider can only eat your opponent's brains 8 times.

Each round, the Black Widow Brain Spider has a 60 MP maintenance cost.

Summon Tarantula Brain Spider - Tarantula Brain Spider Guest
When the Brain Spider does not have any webbing on the enemy, it will attempt to web the enemy (Attack 1). When there IS webbing on the enemy, it will just attack (Attack 2).
Each round the Brain Spider does not web the enemy, the enemy shakes off one strand of webbing (minimum 0 strands).

Attack 1
Hits: 1
Attack Type: Ranged
Element: Darkness
Damage: 8-28
BtH: +16
Special: Adds 3 strands of webbing if it connects. When a monster is webbed, it loses 3 BtH per strand of webbing. This BtH is returned as the monster shakes off the webbing.

Attack 2:
Hits: 3
Attack Type: Melee/Melee/Magic
Damage: 5-23/5-23/3-13 (before modifiers from eating opponent's INT)
BtH: +6/+6/+8
Special: If the last hit connects, the Tarantula Brain Spider will eat some of your opponent's brain. Each time this happens, the opponent loses 3 INT and the damage on this attack increases by 12% of the original attack power. The Tarantula Brain Spider can only eat your opponent's brains 8 times.

ayashi -> RE: Pets/Guests (5/5/2008 19:12:30)

quote:

You might want to rephrase the spiders guests entry a bit.
•The third hit gains +16% Base and Random damage every time this occurs.
As it is, it sound as if only the base/random damage of the third hit of "attack2" gets buffed, instead of the base/random of the whole three hits of "attack2"

quote:

ORIGINAL: Aelthai

I must have been insufficiently clear; sorry about that.

The damage boost from eating the monster's brains applies only to the Base/Random of Attack 2.

By the way, the Black Widow Brain Spider entry is now up for quick reference.
