_Rowey_ -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/3/2009 16:23:51)

Hello,
I just started player WF 4 days ago now, I have 2 Warp guardian characters and im like everything so far. I'd like to see some new weapons and spells + more magic, but im 100% sure that you guys are already on it! [:)]

GDK -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/3/2009 17:37:33)

Thanks for the explanation Aelthai, sorry I went all defensive. I'll stay away from that topic, if only to not get a smack from westwind! :)

Aelthai -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/3/2009 19:10:37)

That wasn't a smack from Westwind :-p

Seriously, feel free to post here. Simply expect that sometimes you will get a reply from game staff - both Westwind and I read this thread (and I've seen others in here, too), and take it into account. Sometimes, a reply seems called for. Look at it this way - you know game staff is seeing what you are saying :-)

BlueKatz -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/3/2009 19:57:32)

WF is a good game, however I think interface in quest and shop should have more, the area is a bit small.
There are 2 think make it better than ANY game (mini-game and sound). However It not really better than any game!

X master Z -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/3/2009 20:32:42)

I have to comment here.

The game itself is good. But my only pet peeve is the amount of menus. Yes, those tick me off. otherwise, the game is almost the best scifi/fantasy RPG I've ever played.

BlueKatz -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/3/2009 21:26:20)

I have another comment, the Ranger/melee/Magic thing should be fix, it's very uncommon.

Verlyrus -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/3/2009 21:55:03)

Just because something is uncommon does not mean it is broken, or needs to be fixed.

BlueKatz -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/3/2009 22:14:09)

I think it should, not it must.
Ranger magic?! That's weir.
Gunner should have different bonus on DEX (not damage, like more Bth...)
Also physical skill use MP

moneybags -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/3/2009 22:18:01)

I think the Stat system in WF is fine as it is.

Gunners do get BtH from DEX. To your second point, physical skills don't neccessarily have to use MP; if a character does not train INT, then it'd be hard to win battles.

Verlyrus -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/3/2009 22:26:16)

To add to what moneybags said, in WarpForce, it isn't really magic or MP, since magic doesn't work well in space. Think of it more like Energy.

BlueKatz -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/3/2009 22:28:29)

It's Feedback thread right.
I feel that if WF make that, it will tent to be Hybrid (DEX for hit, STR to attack, INT for spell). Yes, the stat is fine, but it unbalanced.
The Ranger/melee/Magic effect by stat is pretty good now (umm...point above[>:]). However the problem come from the enemy, they have different Defend with each, the damage just a small problem.

Aelthai -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/4/2009 19:37:42)

Each enemy has a different set of Defences - some are better to use Melee against, some Ranged, and some Magic. So yes, there will be some monsters that are easier for one build or another. Because it varies, it's considered variety rather than imbalance ;-)

_Rowey_ -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/5/2009 15:27:38)

SO far my characters are going good but what i'd really like it to be able to change my attributes coz mine are all messed up [:@]

Rhunespire -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/8/2009 13:59:33)

I'm a long time AQ/DF member, got back recently and found this little number - its absolutely brilliant and more fun in my opinion then the Mecha game.

Graphics, Sound, Gameplay are all high caliber - I'm very pleased.

My only issue is the SP system and it's forumlas - I often lose SP for just using the normal attack option on any/every weapon, is this part of the game design?

Keep it up, I'd like to see expansions of classes (ie: Paladin and the like) in the future.

Nightly -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/8/2009 14:48:40)

Rhunespire

If you have a guest or if you use a Gauntlet, then you will lose SP. Also, if you have a helmet equipped you will lose SP.

Rhunespire -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/9/2009 0:11:02)

That explains it. Thanks much.

The Braken Bard -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/9/2009 11:12:54)

I think what is annoying me right now is really just the scaling as well as the somewhat unreliable things. I mean I have a Striker who can't hit because his normal attacks turn into ranged because the special activates and then a Gunner that can't hit the enemy because the enemy has high ranged defense modifiers.

moneybags -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/9/2009 18:02:43)

Strikers aren't really better with guns than with a Melee weapon, so use melee weapons instead. As for ranged defenses being too high as a problem for Gunners, that is untrue. Just use a Armor Skill that converts the Ranged attack into a melee attack, and you should be fine :)

As for tiering, its a continual concern. When you hit a new tier, monsters will be harder for you, but once you level up a few times and is well into the tier, monsters will tend to be easier.

BlueKatz -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/9/2009 21:51:53)

@The Braken Bard: I myself find a lot of monster have low Ranger Defend, that why I hose to build Hybrid, this built is fun.

The Braken Bard -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/10/2009 10:29:15)

Er I mean that my Striker's attacks are ranged because the special of the weapon activates which gets irritating. I was fighting the Exo Scout and my default kept on doing its special which was ranged.

moneybags -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/10/2009 11:51:52)

Well, theres nothing that can be done about that... Just try not using that certain weapon that often, its probably the only solution

~moneybags

PowerWordPie -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/11/2009 10:20:41)

i think blustery beam lance i overpowered. the special's last hit hit for 94 damage.

(im talking about the good special, if it is not obvious enough.)

Nightly -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/11/2009 11:26:36)

Well don't forget that it's affected by your Strength. So if you have high Strength then it will be strong.

moneybags -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/11/2009 13:25:11)

PowerWordPie,

I think the reason why the that special is so good is because that

  • it only happens 1 / 3 of the time when specials occur
  • one special takes away your HP and doesn't deal any damage

Ilø€IMPERIAL€ølI -> RE: =WF= Gameplay Feedback Thread (10/11/2009 16:55:29)

I've been wanting a monster that automatically levels you up, lol, it takes a while to level up. (No, this is not a suggestion/idea. Just something I want to say...)
