Ranged:: STR/10 + DEX/40 + LUK/20

Is this accurate - I was under the opinion that STR adds nothing to ranged in WF. AQ yes but not WF!!

Infact thought it would be more like

Ranged:: DEX/10 + DEX/40 + LUK/20. Just reread your post - I guess I will look up the armors then!!

I cannot say if it's correct since I haven't the exact formula, but I'll do as best I can! :p

I've something from age ago [&:] (I got these formulas from someone above me).[8|]

quote:

For ALL spells, the stat bonus is:

Melee Spells -> |Stat Bonus: STR/8 to damage, STR/16 + DEX/16 + LUK/20 to BTH

Ranged Spells -> |Stat Bonus: STR/10 + DEX/40 to damage, DEX/8 + LUK/20 to BTH

Magic Spells -> |Stat Bonus: INT/8 to damage, INT/16 + DEX/16 + LUK/20 to BTH

For a Melee or Ranged spell to use INT, it has to be specifically coded to use INT.
Currently, almost all Melee/Ranged spells are specifically coded to use INT, which is why there's some confusion.
The Gauntlet attacks are not coded this way, so they use STR and DEX.

  • Can they be used for normal damage as for Melee attack and Ranged attack? I've no idea! ^_^
    We just don't get the exact formulas from the Staff members, thought it could be nice to know! It's not as a complain. :-)

    Pet -> |Stat Bonus: CHA/15 to damage, CHA/15 + CHA/20 to BTH

    It's not what you want, just to let you know. Hopefully it can help you.

    Enjoy and good luck! :)

    Guess i should ask the questions that sent me down this route

    1 - What stats should a gunner train?
    2 - Does training 'STR' for a gunner improve damage or BtH?
    3 - Are there plans to introduce more battlesuits to aid WarpTrackers!!

    moneybags -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/29/2009 12:09:44)

    1: A Gunner needs no STR, unlike AQ. Sooo, focus on DEX, LUK, and another stat of your choice. END, if you want more HP, INT for techs and CHA for pets. Training STR would change you to a Striker.

    2: STR imporves both when using melee weapons, and neither when using guns.

    3: There most definitely will be. We just don't know when, but should be soon ;-)

    Ranged, or guns, receives no stat damage bonus whatsoever.

    afsoc4life -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/29/2009 15:33:28)

    moneybags

    If your answer to (1) is correct then your answer to (2) cant be correct. If it adds nothing to a gunner's ability then how does it improve both BTH and stat damage?

    I'm sorry, must've misread. STR adds BtH and damage bonuses for sticks. They do nothing for guns. ~$b

    If the answer to (3) is correct then WarpTracker Gunners are in very big trouble - it means their damage is based on the battle suit and there is a lack of good battlesuits for them (unless they spend Z-tokens!). If not that I have Advanced Retro I would find it difficult to train my Warptracker Gunner character!! Your answer to (3) explains why I hadnt seen any improvement in weapon damage despite levelling up to level 21!!

    You can see the character here .. http://aq.battleon.com/build30/charviewWF.asp?temp=63320833

    moneybags -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/29/2009 16:50:52)

    At the moment right now, there aren't much good defensive armors. All you can do is stick with the armors you have now. Once you reach level 24, you'll find the WarpTrooper Armor to be able to dish out quite an amount of damage to your enemies wiht the Knee attack. That should get you to level 27, where you can pick up the Heavy Gunner Model C. Its a nice defensive armor because of its Shield attack, which targets your mana instead of your health. This should be to you advantage, because looking at your character page, you have 0 INT meaning you won't depend on INT for damage. Also at level 27, you will find the Star Ninja as a good source of offense with its devastating Kick attack.

    Hopefully, there will be more BattleSuits to cover for those early levels later in the future, but for now, you will just have to find ways to survive. (Using a good healing spell helps. Also, use your potions. They are free, and you can refill them just by logging out and in, or by doing a Mission from Sick Bay)

    afsoc4life -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/30/2009 1:39:09)

    Thanks for the time and patience shown by all .. I look forward to future releases ..

    Olestas -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/30/2009 10:14:10)

    Actually RANGED attacks which come from ARMOR seem to have damage bonus. Its just GUN attacks that dont get bonus.

    afsoc4life -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/30/2009 11:01:10)

    @Olestas - I noticed that as well. It will be interesting training the character further. One thing is for sure - it is easier training striker than gunner. Will try technician in future.

    Traceur -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/30/2009 14:12:25)

    may I change my base class/ my 100% special weapons are starting to bother me, and i want to be a striker so i can have the guardian sword

    moneybags -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/30/2009 16:28:56)

    You can't change classes at the moment. If you chose Gunner as your base class, though, it does not mean you must be a Gunner. You can be a Striker as well. Strikers train STR, unlike Gunners, so as long as you have STR trained, you are a Striker :) However, if you Upgrade, you will still receive the WG Gun because your base class is still a Gunner. Hope thats not too confusing :P

    Traceur -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/30/2009 17:25:36)

    I did upgrade, and the gun is quite weak unfortunately :/
    thats why I wanted to know if i can switch. thanks

    denali08 -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/30/2009 17:34:30)

    My beta testing character was deleted :(.
    Is there any way to get it back?

    Traceur -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/30/2009 17:54:49)

    @denali
    how long ago have you played? maybe your character got deleted for cleanup. if so, i dont think you can get it back :(

    EDIT: why is my char ID so high? this is my same beta character, and i made it like the second day. why is it in the 6 millions?

    moneybags -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/30/2009 18:08:45)

    denali08, if your character was low level (5-10 or so), and it has been inactive for about a month, then it would have been deleted. There's no way to get it back, sorry.

    Megamaster135, because WarpForce character IDs are mixed with AQ's. If you're in the 6 millions, you should be one of the very first Beta Testers of WF. Your character ID is about 63239011 - <<Your character ID here>>

    Traceur -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/30/2009 18:44:22)

    thanks, money. that clears this up

    frostt -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/30/2009 23:18:17)

    Is There Gift Boxes In WF?

    I remember getting the email from AQ for gift boxes for guardians because its holidays and such. But it said Aq and WF theres no guardian tower in WF.... so is there these gift boxes in WF and how am i supposed to obtain them?

    moneybags -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/30/2009 23:29:40)

    No, there aren't GiftBoxes, but there are two special holiday weapons. They can be obtained in the WG Tower. Both are Ice weapons - For Gunners, its the Ornament Launcher, and for Strikers, its the LazerCane weapon

    weirdguy -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/31/2009 2:19:22)

    Why did you make a Z Token version of a gun that frequently misfires on the user?

    Omni -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (12/31/2009 2:32:42)

    All types of Items are typically made, so it would be silly to exclude Z-Token versions simply because it has a negative effect, at least I would think so anyway.

    * For reference though Game Development questions like this, don't really belong in this thread, because it is not a question that is answerable by the average user and would require Direct questioning of the staff that made the item series.

    Dragon of doom -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/1/2010 12:15:15)

    few quick questions

    What stats should a lvl 5 striker train?
    and which armor should i get?
    Are the AAAA-cell energizer,Heavy Gunner model A and Star Ninja Grasshopper good choices?

    moneybags -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/1/2010 13:28:06)

    At such an early level, it doesn't matter what you want to train. You're most likely going to win. But, its still good to prepare for the higher levels, soo... What kind of Striker do you want to be?

    Pure Striker
    The type of Striker that maxes out its potential in sticks. Trains and focuses on DEX, STR, and LUK, as well as a little bit of END. Since it does not train any CHA, the pets used will not be strong, and since no INT is trained, spells will be used less (perhaps only once a battle). At most times, though, INT would be used for healing spells. A Pure Striker would be a good build if you love clicking the attack button; with the implementation of Lucky Strikes and a high LUK stat, it'd be even more fun.

    At level 5, I'd focus on STR and DEX. 15 STR, and 10 DEX would be good, or even 20 STR and 5 DEX. The more DEX, the more you hit, but the higher STR, the harder you'll hit.

    Tank Striker
    A Striker that trains END as well as DEX and STR. LUK is not focused on, but is still trained a bit. Provides high HP, allowing you to survive long battles, but at the cost of Lucky Strikes, a higher chance to go, and other things. Its not a bad build at high levels, but at low levels, you won't be needing a high amount of END.

    Beast Striker
    Allows the player to use the most powerful pets ingame, at the cost of LUK. This type of Striker would train DEX, STR, and CHA, with a bit of END. Not much to say about this build. Just a tip, if you're going to be a Beast Striker, I advise you to train STR and DEX first, before you train CHA, because at such an early level, the pets won't be dealing a massive amount of damage even if you have a very high CHA stat trained.

    Hybrid
    A striker that uses Techs as well as sticks. Its not a bad build, if you like using and testing out stuff. However, just to let you know, since this build focuses on INT, STR, and DEX, none of the weapons / techs you use will be hitting the '*gasp* Wow! OMG!!!' level because you are missing out LUK, which if you have trained high, will get you high damage in Lucky Strikes. Its still a good build to consider training, though.

    I think that pretty much covers it, you can take a look at Mysterious Strangeface's Stat Training guide here if you have further questions on what to train, but as I've mentioned earlier, at a such low level, it doesn't really matter what you train. That guide will also tell you how to train stats at higher levels, so you can take a look at that and see how each build develops.

    As for the armors, I'd pick up each and every one. The next armor upgrade won't be until level 24 for WarpTroopers, IIRC, so you'll need as much armors you can get. If you can, get them in this order:

    Star Ninja Grasshopper >> Heavy Gunner Model A >> AAAA-Cell Energizer.

    There should be one more armor, a WarpTrooper Armor. Its not mandatory to get, but you can test it out if you want. IMO, the Star Ninja armor will cover for that armor, so it should be the last to pick up.

    frostt -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/3/2010 14:56:14)

    I see u have a guide for strikers... do you have one for gunners ><

    Nex del Vida -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/3/2010 17:39:22)

    Yes, here.

    frostt -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/4/2010 0:26:58)

    unfortunately i barely understand it , idk the different between a pure gunner or lucky gunner or technician and beast master i know beast master is pets technicians is techs n skills n a gunner is mostly using attack, but i dont know the different of the subs like lucky technician and then theres the hybrid, i dont know what each really specialize and what the differentials are.
