moneybags -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/4/2010 1:35:50)

Its kinda all like a mix - n' - match thing. Every word (whether it be Lucky, Engineer, Tank), has a meaning. I'll try to tell you the definitions.

Builds
Gunner Its much different from the Ranger build in AQ. In AQ, weapons receive stat bonuses from STR. In WF, though, Guns receive no stat bonuses. That is both a good thing and bad. Its bad because, well, there's no stat bonus (obvious one). However, the good thing of being a gunner is it allows you to be more versatile. No stat bonuses mean one less stat to train; and those valuable stat points can be put into a stat of your choice. And you can do all of that without sacrificing LUK! :D As a Gunner though, you won't use sticks (melee weapons)

Striker
The people who use sticks, instead of Guns, because sticks are just stronger than guns (since Strikers train STR). STR gives Strikers a stat bonus, unlike the Guns.

Hybrid
A Striker that trains INT, at the cost of LUK. Also known as the jack-of-all-builds. They're good at everything, but awesome at nothing. They train STR, DEX, just like a Striker, but instead of LUK, they train INt, to allow them to use spells. This will decrease their Lucky Hits (they'll actually be disabled), and chances to go first, BtH, chance to block, etc.

Sub builds

Lucky Trains LUK. Not much of a problem there ^^ You seem to not understand the difference between a Pure Gunner and a Lucky Gunner (as explained in your post). Well, there is no difference :P. Both Gunners eventually maximize their LUK stat, because it helps them gain damage since Guns receive no stat bonuses from STR, unlike AQ. In AQ though, its a much different approach to training the build. STR and DEX is focused on at lower levels, which is unlike WF, which focuses on LUK and DEX instead.

Pure This build maximizes your potential in the stats you train. For example, take a Pure Striker. DEX, STR and LUK is maximized. This will give them top accuracy, superior stat damage bonuses and maximum Lucky Strike Bonus.

Engineer Trains INT, enhancing their Tech damage bonuses. When you see a build, like, for example, Engineer Gunner, you'll know that it'd focus on INT (Engineer), DEX and LUK (Gunner). Toldya it was like a mixn'match :P

Beast Trains CHA, allowing the user to use pets of all kinds.

I think that pretty much sums it up. If you've still got questions, feel free to post here, and I'm sure other forumites will be glad to answer them :) I'll just put up an example, just incase you don't understand:

In your post, Lucky Technician: Trains LUK (Lucky), INT (Technician), and DEX (its not in there, but since its not a Hybrid, which would train STR, it'd be a Gunner. You see, a Gunner is LUK+DEX. Add the INT, and ta-daa!)

frostt -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/5/2010 20:05:04)

my hepling teammate randomly dissapears, heling teamate as in the guys u get to help you along your quests, (left of ur char) opp of your pet, anyways they randomly dissapear in a middle of a battle n tehy dont come back

Omni -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/5/2010 20:08:30)

Guests disappear when you don't have enough SP to keep them, this could be due to an issue with the SP Formula at the moment. I know it's an issue I AQ but I'm not sure if that issue is the same for WF.

Lord Athor -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/6/2010 21:20:00)

2 questions:

1) Is there a stat cost list, since the stat cost here isn't the same as in AQ.
2) Is there a better farming spot than the Shearhide special mission?

Thanks

moneybags -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/7/2010 0:17:13)

I don't have the answer for the stat cost, but it is *much* cheaper. As to the farming spot, I'd advise farming the Missions from Sick Bay (through the lady, Captain Daian). They give high leveled monsters, which are great for XP, but since there are no heals in the mission, its best to stick with the very first mission (the 1 potion mission).

Lord Athor -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/7/2010 6:44:32)

Ok thanks. And by the way I should have specified that I was asking about gold farming (already at lvl 50) since I need money for stats, going for 200 STR and that doesn't come cheap... but I take it that the place you mentioned is still the place to be? Too "bad" there's no maze in this place *hehe*

  • Do the quest WARP CRYSTALS!
Location: Engineering -> Gravlax -> MISSIONS -> WARP CRYSTALS!
Take and repeat the 3rd option.

    1.)
    quote:

It could be better if you can buy and use the WarpTrooper VZ.

    WarpTrooper VZL18Z)
    MELEE ATTACK
    Hits: 1
    Type: «As Weapon»
    Element: «As Weapon»
Damage: 305% Base and Random plus 389% Stats
    BTH: +6% plus Stats

    WarpTrooper IVW(L38G)
    MELEE ATTACK
    Hits: 1
    Type: «As Weapon»
    Element: «As Weapon»
Damage: 286% Base and Random plus 362% Stats
    BTH: +5% plus Stats
If you don't want it, you just can use your WarpTrooper IVW.

2.) Use your Power Gauntlet Z.

3.) Use your powerful Light weapon BlaZing Gathorax.
The more STR you have the better to do more damage to quick the battle.

    Good luck! [;)]

  • Lord Athor -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/7/2010 8:57:40)

    @Mysterious Strangeface

Thanks, that was a really nice place to farm [:D]

But regarding battlesuits: I use Advanced Star Knight at the moment, would you still recommend investing in the WarpTrooper VZ? I'm thinking that I might have better use for the tokens I have further on rather than spending them on a low level battlesuit right now...

moneybags -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/7/2010 10:23:05)

Star Knight is even better than the WarpTrooper, so yes, stick with that. :)

Lord Athor -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/7/2010 10:51:07)

    @moneybags

    Thanks for the help :)

I'll be keeping track on the stat cost from 145 and up (that was the first one that I thought to write down) so that a list can be made.

Bu Kek Siansu -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/7/2010 11:48:28)

No, Star Knight is more for Technican since it has high Magic defense, less Melee defense and power than others.
Lord Athor is a Striker. Otherwise Star Ninja.
I have the Star Knight lvl 30 Z-Tokens version but I just use the WarpTrooper lvl 18 Z-Tokens version.

    It's up to you.

After nex time once the level cap has been increased, you can buy this WarpTrooper VIIZ(L58Z). [;)]

Lord Athor -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/7/2010 15:45:35)

Defence aside, Advanced Star Knight has 328% Base and Random plus 422% Stats damage while the WarpTrooper Z armor has 305% Base and Random plus 389% Stats damage.

In pure numbers that makes the Star Knight more powerful but is its attack power divided somehow, like the Star Ninjas, since it can hit 1, 2 or 3 times making the WarpTroopers single hit more powerful on average?

Nex del Vida -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/7/2010 18:31:46)

The Advanced Star Knight does an average of 100% listed BRS, meaning an average of 328% BR, 422% stats.

moneybags -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/7/2010 18:31:53)

Even if divided into 2 / 3 hits, it'll still equal the same Base+Random. Its just that each hit will be less (half or a third). Also, its more stable for the multi-hits because there's a higher chance to deal damage (easier for a one hit to miss; but quite a bit harder to miss all three attacks).

The Star Knight may be weaker by a bit, comparing the WarpTrooper's Gun Throw vs. Star Knight attacks, but with the Uniforce attack, it should put Star Knight back on top. The Uniforce is 23-71 +300% stats each, with two hits and a high BtH at 13 + stats. As well, looking at the KoO Balance Standards and assuming the WarpTrooper VZ as a level 20 armor (even when its at level 18 (Z-Token)), it shows that the Battlesuit has a power level of 49. Looking at the Star Knight, which is a WG item, it gets a +4 level bonus, putting it at level 54, more than 5 levels higher thant the WarpTrooper. I'm not that good with numbers and all, but this looks like evidence that Star Knight is better. And also, just before I finish, the Star Knight is a gold item. Tokens might be useful at higher levels, whether for slots, or a weapon you really want.

The first part of your post is wrong. The attack has a 33.3% chance of doing either a 1-, 2- or 3-hit attack. Each hit, no matter the number, does 50% listed BRS. Therefore you will hit for less on a 1-hit and for more on a 3-hit, with a 2-hit being listed damage. ~Nex

Tasuja -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/8/2010 14:23:41)

I was just wondering if my Stats and equipment are okay? http://aq.battleon.com/build30/charviewWF.asp?temp=68924352

Bu Kek Siansu -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/8/2010 15:08:12)

I suggest you to switch your LUK into STR.
    Make a plan like these:
    100 STR, 50 DEX
    120 STR, 80 DEX
    150 STR, 100 DEX
    180 STR, 120 DEX
    200 STR, 150 DEX
    200 STR, 200 DEX

Tasuja -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/8/2010 15:22:24)

    What about equipment?

    afsoc4life -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/9/2010 8:31:46)

Your stats are ok - hold off on training luck for now - leave them there tho if you ask me.

    Cant say much about equips!!

Lord Athor -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/9/2010 9:56:10)

    @Tasuja

    Weapons
    WarpGuardian Blade - N/A
Stun Baton XVW25 - Good choise but since the stun is so rare I'd suggest you look at Powered Laser Chucks for power
Murky Beam Staff - I suggest you die so that you can get Galaxythe insted
Warp Wavering Cisor - Good for now unless you want to spend tokens
    Warp Enhanced Hullscuffer - Good
Brilliant Warp Gathorax - Here I'd suggest you spend tokens on Tronzor's Tangible Dual Blade.
Strawberry LaserCane - Good and soon to be rare
Blustery Beam Lance - Get Sonic Axe

When it comes to weapons the only one I suggest you spend tokens on is the light weapon. It will last you until lvl 50 and you only really need a good light weapon in this game atm since most enemies have a weakness to light.

    Gauntlets
    Primitive Network Deflector - Good
    WG Power Gauntlet - Good
    Warped Lightning Gauntlet - Good
Hand of Creation - Upgrade to WarpGuardian Hand of Creation

Good save for the one I mentioned, no need to spend tokens here unless you feel you want the extra power.

    Pets
    8A51C Model A - Upgrade to 8A51C Model B

You ought to go to the SickBay and do the Explore Gervel mission to get the WG Cosmoslug, it's a 0 CHA darkness pet that's really good.

    Battle Suits
    WarpGuardian Striker - N/A
    Star Ninja - Good

If you want to you can spend tokens on WarpTrooper VZ or wait until lvl 30 and get the Star Knight Z, it will last you until lvl 54 (concidering it has the same stats as Advanced Star Knight and that one has player level 54)

    Skills/Techs

Get healing skills (WG Medic IV, WG Medic III, Medic III) and/or Call Basic WG Medidroid for constant small heals and Summon Zorboz for a damaging guest that's generally pretty good.

    Miscellaneous Items
    Emerald Star of Fortitude
    WarpGuardian Helmet
    Star Knight Hood

Can't really say anything here since I never use miscs.

    I hope this helps you

    Regards
    /Lord Athor

Tasuja -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/9/2010 10:33:12)

    Thanks for the advice everyone!

    Anhilation2 -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/10/2010 15:55:36)

What are the best weapons for a level 35 (Almost 36) WG Striker? A lot of my weapons seem to still be of a much lower level and are quite lackluster, and I also feel that my gauntlet set is kind of decent, although I'd like input, I couldn't care less about pets (They're dreadful at this point) and I find it strange I'm still using my guardian armor all the time since it always seems to be the best option, now this is probably intended at this point in the (open) beta release, but I'd just like to know if there's a better option out yet. Also please keep in mind I do NOT wish to spend any Z-tokens on items at this point, although gold is no object to me at the moment. Extra note, I don't care about rares at this point, if it isn't the best, I don't want it taking up a precious space in my inventory.

Thanks for any help I can get!

Lord Athor -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/10/2010 16:37:30)

There are several gaps in equipment, the game doesn't get updated as often as the others, but I'll give it a go. It would have helped if you'd posted your character page link so that I could see your current equipment and stats but here goes:

    Weapons
Fire - Rocking CiZor (lvl 18)
Water - Warped Hullscuffer (lvl 36)
Wind - Sonic Axe (lvl 26)
Ice - Cherry LaserCane (lvl 30, WG shop)
Earth - Default unless you want to invest in another Earth based weapon
Energy - Powered Laser Chucks (lvl 24), better raw damade than the Stun baton but no effect
    Light - Tronzor's Solid Dual Blade (lvl25)
Darkness - Vicious Guardian Galaxythe (lvl35), downside is that you have to die to get to it

    Gauntlets
Energy - Improved Lightning Gauntlet (lvl 35)
Ice - Old WG Network Deflector (lvl 35)
Light - Fabled Hand of Creation (lvl 35)
Earth - WG Power Gauntlet (lvl 6)

    Battlesuits
    Star Ninja (lvl 27)
When you get to lvl 38 you can get Star Knight and/or WarpTrooper IVW depending on if you want a pure attack armor or one with a bit more defence

    Skills & Tech
The Medic tech for heal (WG Tower and Sick Bay), Call Basic WG Medidroid for constant small heals.

    Pets
    Light - 8A51C Model B (lvl 27, 0 CHA)
Darkness - WG Cosmoslug (lvl 25, 0 CHA)

I know you said no pets but I still recommend these two, they're non BM pets all the way and have decent damage

    Misc
I don't use miscs so unfortunatley I can't give you any advice on that

Now regarding weapons there are ranged weapons that are of more appropriate level for you on some elements and if you want recommendations there just post again.

    I hope this helps you

    /Lord Athor

    Anhilation2 -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/10/2010 16:50:51)

Thanks for that, I also found a whole weapons list make by an KoO:

    http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AWGRaIfzNI2rZGN3NWtzM3dfMHdxcWMyeGNu

It says what you need to have the very best WEAPONS of every level, it's quite good although it doesn't tell you what good armors, gauntlets, pets, etc. that a player might be interested in, so that is definetly some great information you've given me.

If anyone knows if there is a similar link out there that gives information on the other slots for each level I can be that it would be a great bit of information for everyone, not to mention you wouldn't be getting people like me always asking what to do next.

moneybags -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/10/2010 17:04:22)

Some things I'd like to point out:

    1) As a Striker, one should stick with Melee weapons.

    quote:

    ORIGINAL: Aelthai

This also means that if you are training STR, you should not be using Guns - because sticks should be better for you :-)

The entire quote can be found here

    2) Right now in WF, monsters are fairly easy. They can be taken down with no real strategy; just the attack-spam with the heal spell when you need it. That being said, its better to focus on offense, which is better for farming Gold / EXP, and focusing on armors with good defense, which is good for boss battles and such. Once you reach level 40, which is not far away, pick up the Warp Star Ninja. It has great offense, with 1 / 2 / 3 hit attacks, as well as devastating Armor Skills.

    3) That list isn't made by a KoO, its made by a fellow forumite ;-) If you're interested, you can find both versions, for Gunners and Strikers, in this thread here (first post). They may not be updated, though.

    4) Miscs. They may be an outcome of a win or loss at higher levels, but again, at lower levels, you don't really need `em. What I did, though, is buy each and every one of them. Just to test them out, to find which is good at higher levels when the cap is raised. A misc I particularly like is the Astromorph. The level 41 version would be the one you should pick up. It gives a good amount of STR, DEX, and END, as well as the option to transform into a different armor. Guardian Space Astromorph

    Anhilation2 -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (1/11/2010 2:07:37)

Oh, weird, well thanks for clarification on who made the list (It was posted by an AK but made by a player named "Mazic"; thanks Mazic!), however it's still an awesome list until the next upgrade (I'm going to be 50 by the months end, It's my goal!). It's a great to see people writing full level item guides for builds and I hope to see players make more in the future, not to mention an entire Q&A forum WF much like the one for AQ (Which frequenters will see me on, asking for assistance, players there have been lifesavers) has.

Low level misc. Items have never been good, it's not so much to do with WF, but the game series as a whole has always been that way (it's A-OK that way too), I doubt the need would come anywhere before 70 (if even that soon) to grab any misc items for serious use (Though there might be some like your listed one a player could make some minor use of, I plan to grab it for giggles, probably won't last too long though).

The armor you mentioned LOOKS unappealing due to its resistances (Decent defenses though) and the fact that their lower level versions have proven sub-par to say the least, although I suppose I'll give it a try since WF has given me an ungodly amount of gold with nothing to spend it on.

EDIT: **SIGH**, the "guide" gave me some good ideas although it did completely forget some items that are of superior quality, it's a real shame, for example at my level it fails to mention (I'm 36 now) sonic axe instead of the terrible item there. Still a good guide, although it's not as accurate as I'd hoped. In addition to your comments, I also doubt that they will be updated.

EDIT 2: So re-reading your works shadow, I can actually say that yours is needless to say; much more reliable, so I guess my best option is to cling to you and follow your information to the tee. Also, yes I want to find the best OVERALL weapons (Regarding the standard stats of a striker (I follow the guides posted on the mage page by a KoO which were reviewed by the community)), so if a ranged weapon is better for damage (Specials should probably be taken into account, although items like the stunbatton have an insanely unreliable and easily resisted special, so compared to raw damage it's quite weak). Ill post again soon when I'm a little higher (Most likely every 5 levels).
